This was my third visit to the Black Shed situated alongside the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal in the lovely village of Slimbridge and I have never been disappointed. It's a handy place to stop for lunch after a canal walk or, in my case, a trundle up from Bristol on my trusty Triumph Bonneville motorcycle. You are always assured of a warm welcome from Shannon and the other members of staff at this excellent cafe/restaurant. On this occasion I enjoyed a tasty, home-made sausage roll with a pint of Shipyard American IPA - a light lunch for less than 8 quid - which can't be bad. My wife and I are planning a trip back for the fantastic carvery which is now available on Saturday as well as Sunday. Why bother cooking and washing up when great food is reasonably priced and comes to your table with a smile?

Delightful and charming cafe and tea room at the southern end of Frampton village green. The homemade cakes were delicious . Light lunch, lots to choose from All items are reasonably priced, well presented, good quality food and love the atmosphere and traditional ambience of this cafe. Staff we found friendly and helpful when ordering our food. We had jacket potatoes, prawns & coronation chicken, both came with salad. We would recommend visiting. Also even more grateful as I left my handbag behind when we left,They kindly put it behind the counter, they remembered us and as soon as we walked back into the cafe they handed it to us without us even having to ask. Thank you xxx

Takeaway burgers. Chicken one excellent. Beef one completely over seasoned with salt and could only eat half. Chips could have been great. But half cooked. Edible yes but another 2 mins in fryer they’d have been in a different league. I know it’s a taste thing but no idea why every place is using a sweetened dough bun or brioche now adays. Would be lovely if just once you could get something in proper bread made only with flour water yeast and a pinch of salt.

Lovely friendly pub. We came to meet up with family to exchange Christmas presents and have a Sunday lunch. The food was fantastic. It came within a suitable time, lovely and hot. Well presented and cooked to perfection. The staff were very accommodating and professional. Highly recommend this lovely quaint pub.

When it’s open it’s ok. Seems to be run as a hobby though because the opening times are haphazard at best. Rubbish wine choice. Only a few beers available. God knows when the CAMRA award was given. No chance now. Avoid this pub and go elsewhere.
