The best restaurants in Severn Stroud South West

A very friendly (& dog friendly) pub with a great atmosphere. Excellent food cooked superbly & far above the quality of normal pub food. Each ingredient was of high standard & well prepared. Looking forward to my next visit

Went for a family lunch with siblings & Partners. Superb meals, service & generous portions. We all had different mains, all arrived at the same time, well presented & tasted amazing. Puddings were also fantastic. A great experience & we will definitely be back again. Thank you for a great experience.

We handling here every now and again because we love sitting by the small canal and watching the wildlife. The food is good value. I really enjoyed the Waldorf salad today which was fresh and tasty along with cheesy garlic bread which was a perfect side.

Came in today, was looking forward to a nice sit down meal with my mates and was sat down and we ordered as there was 4 of us we ordered a lot of food but instantly the boss man became very aggressive and angry. Some of the food we couldn’t finish due to the poor quality of the food and tasted like poo. Felt under distress the whole rest of the meal and didn’t feel comfortable ordering what we wanted as everything was dictated by the staff.

First visit here for a long time and really disappointed. Front of house lady grumpy and not very clean looking. Pine table surfaces sticky to touch and whole place needed a makeover. It wouldn't take a lot to add tablecloths - even plastic ones - and provide menus for each table. And, a small thing maybe, but a cappuccino is not just a flat milky coffee in a mug with chocolate sprinkles on top!

Lovely local pub, friendly staff, plenty of room and dogs allowed. Had a Sunday roast served quickly plus sticky toffee and brownie puddings which were lovely. New Pool table.

Lovely restaurant but the coffee!!! It's truly like watered down dishwater. The price doesn't reflect the weak offering.

Takeaway burgers. Chicken one excellent. Beef one completely over seasoned with salt and could only eat half. Chips could have been great. But half cooked. Edible yes but another 2 mins in fryer they’d have been in a different league. I know it’s a taste thing but no idea why every place is using a sweetened dough bun or brioche now adays. Would be lovely if just once you could get something in proper bread made only with flour water yeast and a pinch of salt.

Met up with family for sunday lunch today. Lovely food good service and price. Great location and nice size pub/restaurant.

When it’s open it’s ok. Seems to be run as a hobby though because the opening times are haphazard at best. Rubbish wine choice. Only a few beers available. God knows when the CAMRA award was given. No chance now. Avoid this pub and go elsewhere.
