Lovely restaurant but the coffee!!! It's truly like watered down dishwater. The price doesn't reflect the weak offering.

Lovely staff. But decided to have the breakfast special which was eggs Benedict for a penny short of £10. Well it wasn't special. It was tiny. I was given one very stale half muffin, that's all, a QUARTER of a muffin under each egg and half a rasher of bacon. What a rip off.

Pre-booked afternoon with friends which was amazing, one of the best I’ve had! The sandwiches were lovely and fresh, delicious scones and the cakes were excellent. As many refills of tea or coffee as you wanted and the member of staff who looked after us was really friendly. All this for £20 each. Having had a few afternoon tea’s recently including one at Blenheim Palace…this is by far the best! Would definitely recommend it for any occasion.

The choices were beef or pork. I chose beef for myself & pork for my 7 year old. Both had a lot of fat on them. The next section was potato's & veg. It must of been made of old people in mind as each option was mush. Mashed swede & carrot, cabbage and then cauliflower cheese. None suitable for a child & I didn't like any of these myself. What happened to good old peas & carrots??? We had a Yorkshire Pudding each & gravy. We got to the till & they wanted £25!! After sitting down we couldn't eat the potato's as they could have broken a window if you threw them at it! It was HORRENDOUS!

Was staggered to pay £16.63 for x2 cream teas because the restaurant will not allow a cream tea package with a coffee. £9.14 with coffee option where as tea option £7.49. Particularly irritating when Waitrose offer a free coffee with any purchase and cup size about twice the size. Not worth the money in my opinion

We had an amazing experience with Afternoon Tea! This was greatly achieved by the member of staff named Mary. She was so attentive, without being intrusive and made this very special event memorable for all the right reasons. Would wholly recommend it! Thank you very much Mary, you’ve no idea what a positive impact you had, especially for a unique get together unlikely to be repeated. You’re a star! 😊

Almost no gluten free options - my husband chose soup, but, being coeliac, could not have the bread roll. At the check out we were nevertheless charged full price & the lady was almost aggressive, saying that it was 'up to us if we didn't want some of the dish'. We pointed out that a person with coeliac disease would be made ill by eating the roll & asked whether they had any gluten free option. They didn't & so we asked for a reduction on the price of the meal. While a supervisor took £1 off, the first lady did apologise, saying that she 'understood now' & that they used to offer GF bread, but 'couldn't make it now.' We didn't bother to comment that most cafés simply keep a supply of some sort of frozen ready-made GF bread, nor that in 2024 it was surprising & disappointing to encounter a restaurant with such a lack of provision (& knowledge about) dietary requirements. It turned out that the 3/4 full bowl of soup (£4.25, after the reduction) was watery & tasteless, while our lattes were scalded, with the milk tasting sour. As for my 'protein & salad': the salad was quite nice, apart from the rock hard, underripe tomatoes, but the cold chicken I chose to go with it was almost inedible. It was cold, hard, tasteless & almost impossible to cut - I actually wondered if it was frozen. After a few attempts I took most of it home for the dog. A really poor experience overall, but I have given one more star for the smiley young girl clearing the tables, who couldn't have been more helpful. Most of the staff looked fed up, slapping food on plates as if dispensing school dinners. The food at the restaurant isn't cheap - perhaps Highfield should rethink their approach to menu planning, food preparation & customer service to match.

I had a salad from the salad bar it was great value for money and served by the best serers I have ever met. The whole experience was very good, the garden centre is well merchandised and from the entrance onwards there are tempting displays. Earlier in the day I went to the local Dobbies, what is going on there, are they going busy? half the lights in the store are off and the choice of plants is very limited with quite a lot of poor quality stock on display. But Highfield was brilliant.

What an amazing place! I was invited out for breakfast and had an absolutely wonderful time! The service given by Sarah at the hot food counter was first class and Jess (we were told she was new) was really friendly at the till. The food itself was of very high quality, not a cheap product in sight. Everything was also cooked to perfection and there was so much I'll now be full for the rest of the day! The restaurant itself was very light and spacious, with stunning views from the floor to ceiling glass windows. Cleanliness standards were also very high, with various members of staff buzzing around. The only negative I can think of was the bottled drinks were a bit expensive, I might have had 2 if they were a tad less, but overall, I highly recommend Highfield!

18 November visit - 5 star visit - My husband and I visited your garden centre 18 November to purchase Christmas decorations. We were served at the till by Lizzie on till 7 (information taken from the receipt). Unknown to us until we got home later in the evening, we were one Christmas decoration down. I rang the garden centre this morning (19 November) and Lizzie had kindly picked up the decoration and placed it on the information desk. We thought the decoration would have been placed back on the shelf. We just want to say thank you and how kind that was of Lizzie for being honest and thoughtful to do this. We were taken back by this kindness. 19 November visit - My husband and I went to collect our decoration and the lady on the information desk was lovely and helpful, very pleasant. 5 stars for this lady. We decided to have another look around your beautiful garden centre and purchase more decorations. We then proceeded to the till. 0 stars for this cashiers service. Unfortunately, the service was not good at the till. We went to till 7 and was served by Gail (information taken off the receipt). We were stood at the till while she continued to talk to her colleague and then turned around to the till and proceeded to unwrap a sweet in front of us and put it in her mouth. She did not acknowledge us or speak to us only to mumble the total cost of our purchase. No please, no thank you and no conversation not even a smile from her. This is not good customer service and she has let your company down. Very disappointing as Lizzie and the lady on the information desk were lovely and welcoming.

Often go here with my husband and usually take my grandson or/and granddaughter for lunch. However Yesterday when we went we were told it is £1 for hot water to heat a baby’s bottle absolutely disgusted what a rip off. They will be losing my custom as I feel a firm that charges that much for hot water for a baby, is happy to rip customers off. So much for a family firm. They have lost a loyal and frequent customer and a lot more than the£1 they wanted for hot water as usually spend between £30 and £40 a a visit in the restaurant alone and usually at least once more often twice a month. Warn anyone that goes here to take a flask on hot water if they want to heat a bottle or be prepared to pay £1 for the privilege of them supplying it for you. Incidentally I always have black coffee and often ask for extra hot water to top it up and have never been charged anywhere for this.

Lovely Saturday lunch at Highfield! We really enjoyed our meals and there was lots of choice. The cakes were really tasty and it was hard to pick just two!! For several years we have been regular visitors to Highfield, especially the restaurant for their excellent coffee and delicious home made cakes. At lunchtimes there is plenty of choice. The salad selection is especially good. The staff throughout the centre are always cheerful, helpful and polite. Restaurant prices have risen somewhat recently but not excessively so. One point. We used to find occasional dogs in the restaurant but we feel that now there are too many, some indulged by their owners, allowing them to sit on seats and/ or bark. When exceptionally busy it can inevitably be noisy due mainly to the construction of the building. But this does not prevent us enjoying our regular visits to a garden centre that has been built up from scratch by a local family. There are too few of them around these days.

We used to make special visit to the Garden Centre from Bristol as the restaurant was so good and food was very high quality at a reasonable price, it was a real treat. How its changed since Covid, the happy head chef has gone, the buffet help yourself has gone, the choice has diminished, less vegtable choices, you get much less on your plate than you used to and is somtimes now served by grumpy staff. All of the above and the prices appear to change and climb evert time we visit to now unacteptable levels that makes it not worth it anymore. An example of main menu this weekend.... Beef Burger Pulled Pork Bagette Vegi Burger Specials... Cottage Pie Beef & Stilton Pasty So main menu was all bread related. A man in front of asked if he could just have the Pasty but did not want anything else (not a full meal). He was told he would he have to still pay the full price. The answer back was yes and and so he said he would have some chips but there was nothing else that would go reslly with a pasty. So it cost him £13.95 for a pasty and chips he did not really want. We were so dissapointed with the choices so opted for the toasted sandwhiches for the first time. They looked nice, all wrapped in special paper. However we both struggled to digest them as they were undercooked and bread was soaked with some sort of oil which we can only assume would have helped the bread to be cooked. This made the bread soggy not crisp and toasty. It used to be a pleasure to visit the garden centre and we used to tell our friends how good it was, but know we dont rate it highly at all which is a real shame. Its as though a new set of owners have taken over and are cutting costs and increasing prices at same time to fund the so called imrpovements elsewhere which of course they are, but at the expense of its loyal customers.

I have been here a few times with family as the location is convenient for us to get to but it just does not get better each time. The staff in the shop are lovely but the restaurant is an entirely different story: the staff were rude and blunt, the food undercooked and cold, the bacon purely fat with no meat (also very much undercooked and inedible), the cutlery and crockery not cleaned properly. We were in just after opening so we expected all to be properly prepped and cleaned for the day. I had a sausage sandwich which I must say was very tasty and filling, having had the full English before I knew that the sausages were the only edible item, but all other food in our order was disappointing.

Used to come here often cos we loved it here… the former staff know us and was actually very lovely… haven’t seen them in a while tho. And to be honest, we’ve notice a slow decline of quality but we still give it the benefit of the doubt. But this time it’s inexcusable. Ordered sweet and sour pork but serving was pathetic… 4 very little pieces of pork… c’mon now, you’d like value for money… my uncle on my behalf asked the server if she could do something about it (no harm in asking he says) but the server said that’s 2 scoops already, and we can take it up to the manager if we’re not happy! And the woman at the till, said we shouldn’t be rude to them! I mean who’s being rude to who? We’re not even talking to her lol. You can tell right away that they are defensive and irate. I didn’t even say anything cos it’s embarrassing to make a scene just because bad food portion 😂 It’s just sad that we might not come back to this place because of this experience with the staff at the till. Being nice and friendly goes a long way I think. Shout out to the nice staff that chatted to us at the table. She’s nice and friendly.

Really disappointed to find the tables were much too close together, had to squeeze by others to get to your table and if you and the table behind you moved your chair to vacate your seat they touched. Felt very unsafe.

Went back to restaurant after four months break and had a very enjoyable and safe time. Plenty of sanitising and cleaning. Scones and coffee was just as good as I remembered. Strongly recommend going, maybe not early in the week as very busy.

Have been here many times. Went when garden centres were first allowed to reopen and it was well organised and friendly. The experience today was not so great. We ordered coffee and cake and that was ok, a bit slow but not too bad. Then we wanted another round of drinks. There was no queue for drinks as everyone seemed to want a meal but we were told we had to go to the back of the line out of the restaurant. We saw the man ask the 5 groups in front of us and they all wanted food (which is a different counter) and he still would not let us go to the drinks counter. This is ridiculous because we were then kept waiting with more people than necessary. During busy times they should have separate lines so the people just wanting drinks and cake can get through preventing a longer line backing up into the shop. Also from what we could see they have not removed any tables and there was no distancing in the seating area. It felt more like they were interested in profits and not safety. Disappointing after so many previously positive visits,

Up until lockdown my friends and I were regular visitors to Highfield Garden Centre and restaurant. Went on Thursday for first-time since February hoping that the safety precautions we had experienced at Trioscape the week before would be equaled. Sorry to say they were not. At first it appeared fine, we had our masks on going to counter which had plastic screen until you get to the end where you are handed drink and food, no screen, plus none of the staff wearing masks, apparently they are given the choice. We hadn't and the rest of the staff in the other departments hadn't. The staff were very proficient and pleasant, and the cleaning regime of vacant tables and chairs could not be faulted except for the lack of masks, and sometimes the staff were quite close to our table, and naturally we could not wear our masks due to eating and drinking. Because we had been isolating this was our second experience of going out, the first one at Trioscape was excellent and gave us confidence to go out again, but suffice to say, we will not be returning to Highfield restaurant until COVID has gone

I took my Mum and partner for a proper afternoon tea at the garden centre this week. It was a lovely day so we were able to sit outside in the sunshine and enjoy the views over the fields. And avoid any unwanted germs!!We had pre booked which was great as the staff and the service were excellent and could not be faulted. Lovely china cups and plates and a special effort was made. Our every need was taken care of and the selection of sandwiches and cakes and fresh fruit were plentiful and of a very good quality. I would definately recommend it and I will be returning shortly. Thank you to all the staff who made it an enjoyable experience.

As someone who works in a garden centre / centre restaurant and understands the inner workings of such I can honestly say I'm very disappointed. I was watching your staff...doing nothing but talking loudly. They where Unhelpful when approached and didn't seem to care about customer satisfaction. There was no hot (or cold) savoury food because of apparent "lack of staff" when I can clearly see about 15 of them doing nothing but standing by the coffee machine chatting. How many people does it take to heat up a bowl of chips? Normally when coming to this garden centre I am generally pleased although staff have never been particularly friendly, but today was something else. No food, stale cakes , a reserved table placed directly in the centre of a walkway almost tripping up an elderly person. All I can say is you have lost a customer and good luck when you eventually have an audit.

Not having been here for quite a while, we have visited twice in the space of a few days, on a Saturday and Tuesday. So the 'average' review is based on this. Both times we called in for coffee and toasted teacake. Saturday was fine, restaurant very busy and noisy, but coffees were decent and the cranberry teacake was as good as we remembered. Today, not good at all. Coffees were badly made, my flat white was awful, my husband's cappucino was no better, and although he said 'no thanks' when asked, to chocolate sprinkled on top, it was done anyway. What finished off the average experience was that the server burnt our cranberry teacake and replaced it with a very bland sultana one, which we didn't notice until we were sitting down to eat. I wish we had complained, but it wasn't worth the effort, as nothing was right. Won't be in a hurry to return.

We use the Highfield Garden World's restaurant at least twice a month, we have been fro the lovely breakfasts and we have had the Carvery on a Sunday, and i quite often have a jacket potato which are lovely too. The staff are really friendly too and although it is always very busy you can usually get a seat straight away. The only thing that i don't really agree with is that they allow large dogs into the Restaurant, i know some people rely on dogs but not everyone wants to sit next to a dog when they are having their meal. They could have an area of the restaurant just for the peope with dogs i think this might be a better idea. Apart from that it is a really lovely place to go for a meal a snack or just a coffee and a piece of cake.

Having visited on quite a few occasions over the years, we will desist from eating here in the future. The large capacity gives the restaurant a factory-canteen feel about it....the noise levels are very high at peak times. Worst of all is allowing the access by customers with dogs in the eating areas.....why do people take their dogs shopping in a garden centre? The food is okay and the staff pleasant and helpful but while the dogs are let in we will be going elsewhere.

Stopped for afternoon tea, scones, sandwiches, pots of tea. What a nice place, good atmosphere, bright, clean. Suprisingly busy, but with what looked like about 100 tables, there was a good turn over, and no waiting to sit. Food tasty, prices reasonable. I found it by accident (I was visiting the Garden Centre), but would certainly go there again in its own right.

We have been having lunch here for many years - and it's always been good food and service.Generally, we have a lighter lunch such as jacket potatoes or salmon and salad - always good quality. The carvery always seems to be busy so I assume that is good too. Thjere's a good choice of drinks and free water. For us, the key thing for a happy experience is happy and friendly staff. It's not often you find that.

Dimos a conocer nuestros sentimientos.

Shout out to Stephan who went above and beyond to help a housebound local resident in Bisley this week. I took a punt and enquired if they did cream teas for delivery locally and, despite this not being the norm, Stephan and his team put together the most amazing cold lunch platter with scones and delivered it without question. A new side line maybe? Thx Stephan.

While the food was very good. This Chinese all you can eat restaurant should be called the Chinese eat what the manager says you can eat restaurant .He came to our parties table with an aggressive and loud voice saying we had ordered to many dishes and to be aware of the £7a dish charge for uneaten food letting not just us but the whole know , so embarrassing and as a result members of our party left feeling hungry and at £25 per head this was not on . Will definitely never use this place again and could never recommend to anyone
