We visit here regularly with our pup. We’ve eaten many times and always enjoyed it but last Sunday we had the carvery which was really good. It was better than other carveries in the area, generous portions and tasty food. The staff are always lovely, they cannot do enough for you and make a proper fuss of our dog who probably could and would walk there himself given the opportunity 🤣 I love the coffee and like that I can have a pint if I fancy a drink. The cakes are good too. Planning a Friday evening visit soon.

What a great place to find, excellent food, great service, great atmosphere, first visit there, right beside the canal, enjoying seeing the barges, sail by. The cafè has a good-sized carpark, it's dog friendly. Footpath along by the canal, perfect for walks, definitely recommend it. Portions of food are generous. Varied menue well worth a look, Slimbridge Wetlands park is fairly near too.

Great cafe on the Gloucester & Sharpness canal near Slimbridge. Good range of hot food and cakes, beer, cider, wine & soft drinks. You can also get a boat trip on the canal from here - the most interesting being along to Purton and the Ship's graveyard where hulks have been beached on the Severn bank to counteract erosion. Eerie and fascinating. Hire of canoes/kayaks etc is also possible. Friday nights sometimes have live music.

Fine rustic sort of place to come for reasonably priced food and drink. They don't share the wifi - ok, but this really is the twilight zone, so it might nice to share with customers who need it. Coffee seems to be drip + milk rather than espresso.

Visited this cafe for a coffee and cake. It is an unusual building, with quite a history, next to Sharpness Canal. Despite being January, it could've been warmer inside. Was served by a woman who barely said a word or smiled, very unwelcoming. The lattes were not very hot, but the cake was okay. Free car parking is adjacent and free. It was a disappointing visit which put us off going again!

Great breakfast, priced at £10 for the vegetarian option, including tea and toast which I thought reasonable. The place was a little chilly to begin with as it had just opened when I arrived but it warmed up quickly. Very busy with groups of cyclists throughout the time I was there, with a few tables free however. Very good, I'd definitely return.

We called in for a coffee but we were completely ignored by the staff. We stood at the counter for several minutes and no staff approached or said a word. No "we'll be with you in a moment" avoiding eye contact, bizarre! That's also not to mention the smell in the place. A sort of rancid bad drains smell, nasty. We were very glad to leave and spend our money elsewhere.

Excellent cafe on the bank of the Gloucester & Sharpness canal adjacent to Patch swing bridge. Fantastic place to enjoy a full English breakfast, hot meals, sandwiches, pasties, cakes, ice cream, hot & cold drinks, plus alcoholic beverages whilst watching the boats go by and the swing bridge in operation when larger craft pass by. The food is great, plus pizza and fish & chip evenings offer good food at reasonable prices, especially taking into account the lovely scenic location. Customer restroom facilities and decent sized car park, plenty of indoor & outdoor seating, various boat trips can be booked and taken from here, friendly & helpful staff and carvery meals too! Occasional live music events are also good with a great atmosphere. Brilliant and highly recommended.

This is very unique place, in my opinion.. As name suggests, a black shed, on bank of the river.. But here you'll find people from all walks of lives enjoying the area.. Walkers, cyclists, bikers, families visiting nearby Slimbridge wetlands trust area.. All chilling and watching wild birds, and the river traffic floating by.. See the floodgate being wound up to allow the said traffic pass through.. The food appeared limited, but it's not a resturant.. From seeing leaflets in building, they also hold gigs or artists there at times.. We've been in the area a few times now, and it was our 1st time using the building.. Definitely a place to grab a beverage, cold drinks or coffee.. It's not a MUST go place thst you will detour to, , but if you're nearby and want a genuine welcome with friendly staff, then definitely worth your consideration.. You can also go on boat journeys from this location.. The location has details about these very short but pleasant river journey...

This would have got 5 stars, lovely place, beautiful setting, great food. It dropped a star because of one particular employee with communication skills. Unnecessarily aggressive attitude. Wasn't just us, it was directed at other customers too. She seems to think it's ok to glare and remonstrate if people get the slightest thing wrong, and I do mean the slightest.
