Cafe max in Stroud

I literally ordered from here and was waiting well over two hours for my food. I contacted just east and straight away it updated to food on its way..30 mins later I have my sister call to see what’s going on and they tell her my food was cancelled as they didn’t have a driver to deliver my food, yet they didn’t think to maybe CALL ME and tell me that..? Even 3 hours later ?? Even my app still says it’s on its way it is RIDICULOUS

Down to earth food, service atmosphere, not in the slightest bit pretentious. Incredibly refreshing spiritually, foodily and drinkily. Love it.

Nice little gaff this we went here twice duting our stay and it was spot on both times, big portions never waited long at all for the food to come.

Visiting stroud for a few days and we ate here twice. 6 different meals and all of them were lovely! Also the menu is huge so there is something for everyone, the homemade curry was lovely. Prices were also good and the plates were good portions. Staff were very good too. Great little place to eat!

A friendly service plenty to chose from on the menu

I didn't enjoy it at all. No mushrooms 1 sausage not 2. I must admit it was about over 15 years ago. And it's the first time I have been in their since that long ago.

All of the food was cold and dry the bread was soggy and the eggs looked like they was left out for ages they were hard and cold and the black pudding was vile I want my money back couldn’t even eat it

Chilled and caught up with one of my bestie, it was quiet and great for us..Good coffee in here. Food in general is good cafe food and their milk shakes are the best in town

food was grate but there was no salt for the chips and I asked for a coke as my drink but got a Pepsi some people might not mind but I can tell the difference and really don't like Pepsi.

It was 2 hours late. Food was disgusting, rubbery. It is like they just microwaved frozen food and sent it off. Not to mention it was almost back to its frozen state when it arrived. I have been trying to call them to cancel (as the food was super late) they did not answer once. I can’t believe there would be any sound person to rate this place 5 stars. Disgusting, will never be returning.

Called in for an early breakfast. Nice hot coffee, The breakfast was cooked while I waited. But was really top class . Nice and fresh and good and hot. Good service. And a good price. . All the staff Nice people.

Great cafe. Great value, freindly and welcoming

Right around the corner from the Railway Station, very handy in the middle of town. I took our twin, 5 year old, granddaughters for a train ride from Gloucester just for a train experience. I don't know Stroud too well so when we found Café Max it looked inviting, and popular judging by the number of people that were in there. The girls had a Children's Meal of Cheeseburger and Chips while I had a Chicken BLT, no chips thank goodness as the BLT was huge, delicious, and very filling. The staff were lovely, friendly, attentive and didn't mind at all that the girls went through all of the ketchup sachets on the table, they brought more and said that all the children love the ketchup. Would I go again, certainly would. It was reasonably priced, good quality food and plentiful.

I will never return to this cafe and would advise anyone considering going here to think twice and just walk a little further up the street and go to Milanos.

We stopped on a Saturday for brunch after the market. It was busy, but the service was fast. The food was below average. Just seemed to have very cheap ingredients. The toast with our meals were standard white bread from probably tesco and the cappuccino was not good. For the price of the food we expected a bit better quality. Over £10 for a standard breakfast.

Everything was very good and still warm on a bitterly cold day. I’ve deducted a point for the toast, which was flabby and spread with something nasty.

Best way to end the year . A beautiful meal in the cafe. I drove down all the way from South Wales today . To spend some time with my favourite family member . The food is the best ever always really good . The staff are friendly and really good at their jobs . . The price of the food is well priced . Top class . I'm looking forward to go back in the new year.

Very good grub, very quick delivery by a pleasant young lady. Exactly as ordered and still pretty hot, even though it was -1° outside. (Sorry delivery person) I’ll definitely order again. Interested in their lunches. That may be good.

Food was good especially the burgers etc only criticism is cottage pie I dnt rate that it was ok but I had better from supermarket I order here again on as really good service just won't order cottage pie again

Great cafe with a huge range on the menu, from sandwiches and paninis to jacket potatoes and full English breakfasts. Warm welcome. Very busy at lunchtime, but generally very quick table service

For the second time this week, the delivery driver could not find my house and couldn’t speak English to explain it to him. This is frustrating as for the last 2 years they have always delivered early and arrived at my house without any issues.

Myself and OP went into cafe max. Sat down for a while (we had already looked at the menu and decided what we wanted). Looking around to see where the workers were because we were waiting to be served after waiting for a good while and no one had come over, yet they saw us. One was just stood around talking to someone and the other was sat with someone (who looked like to be a friend. Im not going to assume that because i’m not sure 100%). She finally got up after about 5 or so more minutes of acknowledging we were there, then finally served us. Bear in mind my family and i used to be a very regular customer there a few years back, until someone else took it over and they were just rude, even slower service (not that the others were even slow - they were good. and we were so regular they already knew our orders each time which made the experience and even better (i’m not expecting it from them, that’s not what i’m saying though, and we also don’t go their very much anymore). Ever since it’s gone a bit downhill. I would just expect a bit better as i myself work in an environment where customer service is important. And theirs in cafe max could be improved

There's so many good vegan sausages out there now, these mushy veg sausages are outdated. Having some good vegan option would do you well as a restaurant, vegan English breakfast would be amazing.

Very expensive for the quality of food. £5.63 for beans and cheese on toast and it came all separately so the cheese wasn’t melted. Food overall not great

I've been eating here for 6 + years. Always very fast service accompanied by very nice smiles. Breakfast is consistent and good quality. Burger and chips is pretty decent and substantial, no undersized portions here. It is a pleasure eating here!

Visited on a quiet Sunday. Easily found a seat and was greeted by friendly staff. This cafe is like taking part in ‘Man v’s Food’ portions are huge and very good value !!!! Ordered a big breakfast and a Spanish omelette! Delicious

Great pleasant staff who are well mannered and evidently great at what they do. I visit this place quite often and I’m always indecisive on what to pick due to their vast selection in their menu. I would definitely recommend their English breakfast which is fairly priced in comparison to the portion that they give!

A lovely meal in a good atmosphere. I could understand why this cafe was so busy. Oh, and my day was complete when Bristol Rovers beat Forest Green Rovers 3-1!

Two hours from order being placed to actually receiving the food which was ultimately cold On arrival. Not impressed

Really poor service. Notified of my order being out for delivery 50 minutes before it arrived. I called the restaurant and they didn’t seem to know where my order was just said it would be another 15 minutes as they were busy. Poor experience

Worst meal I ever had. Not veg under cooked meat not fully cooked. Very bad all round how they got 3 stars on there dooor I will never know. Not even one star should be given .I am a chief.

Visited this cafe with the walking group yesterday for first time in 3 years , after a very warm days walk around Stroud needed drinks and food and can highly recommend this cafe , all the group were happy with their orders and the service ,I had the home made cottage pie with veg and gravy plus Ice cream and a milkshake ,very impressed with the quality of food so would choose this cafe every time I visited Stroud

I ordered a jacket potateo with tuna mayo, received a jacket potateo with coronation chicken instead, was nice but wasn't what i ordered.
