We popped in after a morning shopping in Castle Cary. From the outside this looked like many tea rooms. However our experience once inside was far from average. Both the dishes we had were tasty and really well balanced, the word that comes to mind is sublime. The staff were really friendly and helpful. All in all a great experience and can’t wait to return

It has been at least 20 years since I had bakery products as comforting as a Denela's, that's why I will drive 8 miles when we need bread (of course, when I get there I may leave with donuts, pastries, and pasties also in the bag). The bread just seems to hit the sweet spot, firm, but not dry, and not doughy, and the wholemeal feels so soft and squidgy, but when cut is still densely packed and flavoursome. The pasties here are my marmite, well anti-marmite, as I love them. The ingredients are spot on for me, beef mince, not chunks, obvious potato and carrot, the seasoning is perfect, peppery but not too peppery, unlike cornish pasties. Anyway, must return to work, but maybe I'll get some toast first!

Mothering Sunday We booked here after seeing the website and sample menus Basically, the sample menu and actual have little similarity The pub is basically not trading No draft beer , lager No sparkling water etc Having come thru the hospitality troubles and lost a business I know how tough it is But be fair on your page state limited options Remain polite, and remember the customer can make an informed decision as we did and left before we ordered as frankly having seen some food going out thought it was not to our taste One last point, decency when addressing customers costs little, an off hand rude attitude in a market where other choices exist is not acceptable Much to be improved

Stopped off for lunch after visiting family nearby. A warm welcome, polite, friendly and had a really lovely feel to it. We had the ham ploughman’s and a fish finger sandwich. The food came quickly and served with a smile. The food was delicious. The ploughman’s was large and a great variety. The fish finger sandwich was well cooked, great granary bread and presented perfectly.

Stayed at the campsite for the weekend and they had some live music on the Saturday. We had a fantastic night with a little bit of dancing. Will definitely visit again.

Terrible service. While the food very good, the entire experience was let down by a waiting team that had no idea what they were doing. Will not be returning after many years of enjoyable visits. A great shame as it all used to be so good.

We have eaten here 3 times now and each time it has been good. The roast dinners are very good - not worth cooking your own when you have the George in your doorstep. Nice vibrant atmosphere too

The deli side of the somerset wine company. Lovely choice of sandwiches and salad, quiches etc. Limited outdoor seating. Really lovely vibe on the centre of tow outside the central town market square. Sandwiches are pretty basic but decent choice overall.
