We had the most delightful evening at The Bay Tree last night for a Christmas meetup with friends. From the moment we walked in, the warm, welcoming atmosphere made us feel right at home. The food? Absolutely amazing! You simply can't beat the taste of home-cooked meals crafted with care, and The Bay Tree delivers that in every bite. Each dish was bursting with flavour and cooked to perfection—truly a treat for the taste buds! Rene and Kevin were, as always, absolutely fantastic. Their hospitality, attention to detail, and friendly demeanor made the whole experience even more special. If you're looking for a cosy, delicious, and memorable dining experience, The Bay Tree is the place to be. Highly recommended!

Mothering Sunday We booked here after seeing the website and sample menus Basically, the sample menu and actual have little similarity The pub is basically not trading No draft beer , lager No sparkling water etc Having come thru the hospitality troubles and lost a business I know how tough it is But be fair on your page state limited options Remain polite, and remember the customer can make an informed decision as we did and left before we ordered as frankly having seen some food going out thought it was not to our taste One last point, decency when addressing customers costs little, an off hand rude attitude in a market where other choices exist is not acceptable Much to be improved

Stopped off for lunch after visiting family nearby. A warm welcome, polite, friendly and had a really lovely feel to it. We had the ham ploughman’s and a fish finger sandwich. The food came quickly and served with a smile. The food was delicious. The ploughman’s was large and a great variety. The fish finger sandwich was well cooked, great granary bread and presented perfectly.

Went to this cafe to get some breakfast and a hot drink, we entered the cafe and my sister went to look for a seat as the cafe looked a bit cold, so we wanted somewhere out the back, as soon as she walked towards the back, the snotty woman serving was extremely rude nearly shouting ‘can I help you’ in front of other customers, as though my sister was doing something wrong! Not going in staff quarters just to the rear of the cafe! Then proudly announced that they were not serving food only drinks! This all could have been relayed to us in a more inviting way, we just felt we were putting her out having dared walk into A cafe. Staff training needed here.

Pubs in castle Cary fully booked so we stopped here on the way home. Not disappointed. Standard pub food, but well presented. Best of all is the value. Excellent. Four pints, two main courses £39. Can’t argue with that.

Indifferent food & service. Wife had a ragout served in half an uncooked onion with squiggles on plate. She disliked it and ate nothing while I finished mediocre moules. Asked for reduction in price but refused somewhat rudely & charged full whack, when they could have deleted cost of ragout or offered another dish. Booking table we mentioned it was our 64th wedding anniversary but no sign request for quiet corner had been noted. For what it was the cost was exorbitant and we will not be returning. In contrast we then went on to an unpretentious pub nearer home & had a second proper lunch at half the price. This place needs professional management, trained staff and a better chef.

We have eaten here 3 times now and each time it has been good. The roast dinners are very good - not worth cooking your own when you have the George in your doorstep. Nice vibrant atmosphere too

The deli side of the somerset wine company. Lovely choice of sandwiches and salad, quiches etc. Limited outdoor seating. Really lovely vibe on the centre of tow outside the central town market square. Sandwiches are pretty basic but decent choice overall.

Recent meal here. Dined in. The meal was ok, definitely not the best, but also not the worst Indian food I have had. The chicken in my curry was a little dry and hard, bhaji overcooked. It tasted nice though and I ate it all. Fairly unfriendly staff on duty, whilst attentive it felt like I wasn't particularly welcome. Atmosphere not great.
