Interesting Converted Chapel that is now a quaint tea room. Had an enjoyable pot of tea and cake here. It was hard to find mind! It is virtually on the slip way on the exit of the East Bound A303 cadbury junction

We cycled there for lunch, wondering if we had brought enough cash. But what good value! My roasted cherry tomato soup was really delicious and served with my choice of garlic and tomato focaccia and my husband had a ham sandwich which had a generous salad garnish. Coupled with a pot of tea for two and we had only spent £11! So well worth the money, my only reservation is that my review might make it too popular to get in next time!

The A303 is a tedious road but one of it's high spots is the Chapel Cross Tea Rooms... just turn off at the sign for North and South Cadbury and you are in for a real treat. The Team rooms are in a small stone converted chapel right by the A303 bridge so easily accessible. Rose, who used to live in the Chapel before converting it to a unique and quirky venue, offers a limited range of light lunches, cakes and buns and is very welcoming in her usual down to earth manner. You don't stand on ceremony with Rose! Not only is the food excellent, the drinks delicious and surroundings convivial....wait until you get the bill. Rose could charge twice what she does and you would still think it was value for money. Very popular with local residents.

I went to the web site to check details but the site is defunct. Nevertheless set off for lunch at the tea rooms. Then spent a frustrating amount of time driving around South Cadbury looking for the cafe. Despite the address given on this page, it seems that you should not turn off the A303 to South Cadbury but to NORTH Cadbury - can then be found on the slipway to the A303.When we eventually located it we found that it was closed. Evidently closed Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.Sorry cannot comment on the food. Yours grumpily, Davy

Delicious home-made food and mouthwatering selection of cakes with lovely service in a beautiful rustic converted chapel and all done by one lady. The atmosphere and quaintness of places like this are much much nicer than any modern establishment I have been too, I was very impressed. Will definitely come again

We always make a point of stopping off here on our way to Cornwall. The food is all made in the chapel kitchen and is delicious and wholesome. The Chapel Cross Tea Room is atmospheric and beats stopping at a featureless road side cafe that shall remain nameless. Go there; it's a real treat

This is something rare and delightful ..... Home cooked food from a passionate owner / cook.Whether it's coffee and cake on a bike ride stop, a light lunch with family or friends or afternoon tea after a big walk the tea rooms will always please .It's not grand or trendy it's just a lovely old building with a warm and welcoming greeting and fantastic home cooked food ! Don't expect the usual selection of frothy coffees - but you will get a good cafetière .Always a huge selection of home made bread and cakes and extremely good value. Just one thing , don't tell everyone !!

We need a family lunchtime meeting point last weekend near the A303 Sparkford area and this was perfect! Lovely soup and sandwiches with a proper homemade feel, good coffee and very reasonable. Slightly tricky to find (follow the signs to North Cadbury rather than South!) but handily close to the main road when you know where you are going. A welcome alternative to the other options on the 'Road To The Sun'.

divert from the A303 for 2 minutes and gift yourself a meal at this tea room - lunches, described as light, consist of your choice, today's was an individual home made roasted vegetable tartlet together with a mound of fresh salad, a huge chunk of freshly made bread and all for £4!! and as for the cream teas.....and the homemade cakes YUM!!Then when you find yourself in the awful position of not checking your money situation before you left home and find you don't have any to pay with and the proprietor says 'drop it in next time you're passing'. She wasn't interested in taking a name or address...and when you find your chequebook, write her a cheque and include a tip..she hands it back to you in cash as the only appreciation she wants is you to say how much you enjoyed it...........which we did of course....Amazing Fantastic Place just hope it doesn't get too popular and I'll always be able to find a seat!! it opens from 11 to 5.30 Wednesday to Saturdayhttp://www.chapelcrosstearoom.co.uk/
