Stayed at the campsite for the weekend and they had some live music on the Saturday. We had a fantastic night with a little bit of dancing. Will definitely visit again.

We visited this pub for a family meal, which was absolutely brilliant. Food was delicious and the best home made chips we have ever had. Jo was very friendly and accommodating too, Would definitely recommend this to locals and visitors to the area.

The staff including Jo front of house were very friendly and polite. The food made up with genuine local produce was second to none. The taste was excellent. Highly recommended for a visit when passing or staying local.

Not welcoming at all. Walked through the door to be barked at. No dogs allowed? In this day and age get real. We were only buying a drink to sit outside. Bye

We visited after recently moving to the area, and seeing great reviews and wanting to get to know our local pub. We were quite disappointed to say the least, fizzy drinks were far from fizzy and the syrup was little to none they were visibly flat as anything. The food was average but enjoyable, and decent portions, pretty much you get what you pay for. Baffled by being informed that the cheesecake is served ‘semi frozen’…I have never ever heard of cheesecake being served frozen let alone semi frozen…awfully bizarre and wasn’t edible since frozen solid to the extent you could tap it with a fork and make a noise…so took home to defrost, we were the only others eating, it was a shame since it is so nearby. Maybe we shall try again sometime, perhaps we went on an off day.

Fabulous stay. Jo could not have accommodated us better with our pre-booked table for Saturday’s evening dinner. Thank you for letting us have the comfy seats as well as the table nearest the tv for the footie. Just what we needed after a warm days cycling.

Stopped here one evening while we were staying locally. The other ' foodie' pubs nearby were all full so we elected to go for beer and chips in a pub garden instead. Brook House was friendly, served excellent Guinness we were pleasantly surprised that the chips were real hand cut ones, not frozen. We are 7 portions between 5 of us! Space for kids to run around in the hasten and a bench in the sun for us. Job done.

We went due to the Eat out to help out scheme and we were very impressed, the food was lovely, absolutely delicious, we all enjoyed it very much. Very friendly service aswell. We did have quite a wait for the food but there was a notice stating that if it was busy there would be a longer wait for food. 10/10 would eat here again!

Called in for a quick lunch on Wednesday 24th July 2019. A neat little pub right beside the main road leading from Castle Cary railway station towards Shepton Mallet.Inside a comfortable well furnished bar and a welcoming and helpful host.I had the pie, chips and peas which together with a carbonated mineral water came to £10.25p. A good value meal.

Lynn, Wayne and their staff are such lovely people.and the food is good honest home cooked grub at more than reasonable prices. leanne and me stay in our caravan at the rear of the pub the site is peaceful and has electric hook ups, the toilets and wet room showers are very clean and modern. Ideal place to stay if you are visiting the Fleet Air Arm or Motor museum. Will be returning soon ! Jim and Leanne

I accidentally came across the Brook House Inn last year whilst visiting the Caravan shop close by, & as my wife & I had enjoyed a relaxing meal at this establishment we decided to drop in last week as we were passing the door. We were greeted with a warm welcome by the landlady just as she had done on our previous visit. As it was a particularly cold day we sat by the log burner (set in an inglenook fire place) enjoying a glass of wine with our meal, yet again the food was excellent. I cannot recommend this place enough, it's the type of place you feel at home as soon as you walk through the door.

Just spent four nights here whilst attending our son's wedding. Had lovely food in the restaurant and the mixed grill was enormous! Excellent value for money. Nice large, level pitches. Electric hook up, water and services all in close range. But the best thing by far about this establishment were the hosts Wayne and Lynn who couldn't be more helpful during our stay. They even arranged a friend of theirs to make a bow and fit ribbons to our wedding car for us. They also dropped us at our venue and collected us later in the evening, which was above and beyond. Just one thing ..... Keep an eye out for john who seems to get drunk on appletiser, ha ha!

My wife And i were visiting Castle Cary over last weekend, while there we needed a part for our caravan so dropped into the local dealers, on our way out we came across the Brook house pub which was adjacent, we had a couple of drinks & some lunch, the food was Amazing, we both had a smokey joe from the menu, AMAZING , the chicken was moist, the side salad was finely chopped with a vinegar dressing, and above all proper home cooked chips to boot.We found the owners friendly & extremely welcoming, needless to say my caravan didn't get touched as we were in no rush to leave the pub.

Went here for lunch with friends, barmaid was lovely & welcoming but the food was revolting. Everything the children were served was deep fried & hard as stone, it was so bad the scampi had shrivelled up & left the table. Low budget food cooked incorrectly. The pasta looked previously chewed & could be lifted out of the dish in one forkful. Revolting. The outside area is a great size but there is absolutely no way that the outdoor apparatus would meet health & safety standards. Would never ever eat here again not even if they paid me.the only reason I'm giving it any stars is because the lady serving us couldn't be more helpful & welcoming!

We had booked to stay on their camp site with our motor home to enable visits to Castle Cary. The actual camp site is fine, and the toilets are acceptable, although only cleaned once in the 3 days we were there. The gents shower is fine, but the ladies is very strange - the cubicle has been built in before realising that the control unit could not be mounted inside the cubicle as built, so it's outside! However, the pub is dire. We never saw more than one person in it. On the day we arrived (Sunday) they could only serve one pint of real ale (flat) before the barrel ran out and no more till Wednesday. The peanuts we bought were out of date. The ash trays at the outside table were never cleaned in the whole time we were there. We did plan originally to eat there a couple of times, but cound not muster the courage!

This was our second visit to The Brook House Inn, and it won't be our last. From the moment we arrived we felt welcome. The campsite is clean, quiet and well maintained with electric hook-ups available on all pitches. The toilet and shower facilities, although not the most luxurious, are clean, well stocked and practical. We ate in the pub each evening and thoroughly enjoyed all the meals. The menu offers a variety of home-cooked favourites at very reasonable prices. The bar stocks a wide range of ales alongside the regularly Somerset cider.... The staff are friendly and will sit there and natter to you all evening long, both of them being blessed with a very funny sense of humour! All-in-all, a lovely week with lovely people. The Brook House Inn - arrive as guests, leave as friends.

Stopped off at The Brook House on way back home from Shepton Mallet, very pleasant staff. Good selection to choose from, arrived very quickly. My wife had the Sunday lunch which was lamb, arrived quickly and was well cooked with 3 types of vegetables. I ordered the house chicken curry which was very nice although the portion for me was a little small, it came with two large poppadum's and delicious chutney. Desserts were very good my wife had the baileys cheesecake which was on of the best, I opted for the chocolate pudding and custard very nice. Service was quick and prices were reasonable.

Spur of the moment descision to stop and eat here, old fashioned public house with a large car park. The menu was plain but had a wide variety of popular dishes, we chose a barbeque chicken and ham egg and chips, these cost nearly exactly £17, so good value. The meals arrived fresh and hot and were of ample size, my wife struggled to finish her ham the portion being so large. The building is a traditional public house, and has not, in recent years, had much money spent on furniture and fittings, it is however clean and as well presented as possible. The host was extremely friendly and enhanced the enjoyment of our visit. In summary not luxury dining, but a reminds you of a pub from the 1970's, with a great childrens play area, great value for money.

What a delightful place to stay at. We stayed for a couple of nights to visit the surrounding area and had the friendliest welcome and comfortable stay. James, the waiter in the evening, was a credit to them. He helped you choose what to eat and was attentive and friendly. The food was outstanding, especially the fish dishes. The breakfast was the best we have ever had and was cooked to order with local produce. Cannot wait to return.

Booked for dinner but on arrival, they thought we had booked for buffet, fortunately they had a table for us within a short time so we had a pre-dinner drink in the bar, which is fabulous and then went for a lovely meal in the Bistro, it is a small and intimate restaurant and quite modern and food is served on hot rocks, which you cook yourself to your own taste. Nice concept and food was really lovely BUT find that it gets pretty smoky when it is very busy. This is not a unique concept to us and it was a very nice change. Service was attentive and good and wine selection is great. Little pub at the Langport Arms is friendly and wonderful for pre or post drinks too.
