Great find - we found this cafe after going to Haynes motor museum. Really good food and lovely atmosphere! The staff were so welcoming and really great with our kids!

We popped in after a morning shopping in Castle Cary. From the outside this looked like many tea rooms. However our experience once inside was far from average. Both the dishes we had were tasty and really well balanced, the word that comes to mind is sublime. The staff were really friendly and helpful. All in all a great experience and can’t wait to return

Sorry - I hate writing negative reviews but this place was not good today. We live in Somerset and decided to spend a couple of hours exploring Castle Cary. We sought this place for out for brunch, based on prior research on TripAdvisor but boy, I wish we hadn’t. Our order was fairly simple - 2 hot drinks, some tap-water and a sausage roll to share - nothing about this order went well. I ordered a chai latte, an americano with hot milk on the side, tap water and a sausage roll (of which two specimens, apparently, were on view in the chiller cabinet next to the till). The conversation with the young lady (yl) at the till went like this: me - “is that actually a sausage roll, as it looks like it has halloumi or some sort of cheese at the end of it” ? yl: “yes it’s a sausage roll with spinach and feta” me: “are you sure it has sausage meat in it” ? yl: “I’ll check”; she goes off to the kitchen, and comes back, yl: “yes it definitely has sausage in it, it’s definitely not vegetarian”. We share a joke about how it couldn’t be a sausage roll if it had no sausage meat in it ! After a while she delivers us a pot of Earl Grey tea ! I point out it’s not ours, we hadn’t ordered it. She then delivers an americano with cold milk - I point out I ordered hot milk. Then a period of inactivity at our table, whilst the 2 ladies who came in after us get their Earl Grey tea delivered to them (the pot that was delivered to us in error) and their tap water. The we get the “sausage roll” brought to us. Of course, by this time we neither have the chai latte nor the tap water. The sausage roll has, as you might have guessed, no sausage meat in it - it is a bland and tasteless (to me at least) feta and spinach roll. I have to ask again for my wife’s chai latte and the tap-water. My wife is totally fed up - she hasn’t got her drink, the “sausage roll” isn’t a real sausage roll - and other tables are getting their hot drinks long before my wife gets her chai latte. In the end we were offered a refund for the “sausage roll” that according to the yl definitely wasn’t going to be vegetarian ! However, we had already paid, and as my wife had eaten the spinach and feta roll, she told me we shouldn’t accept a refund as she had eaten the food - my wife just wanted to leave and put the whole sorry debacle behind us. We walked down to Burn’s the Bread and got a bacon and cheese turnover which, to me, was far more savoury than the “thing” we got served at Burnt Honey. Of course, everywhere has “off days” - but I can only judge and review it on what we experienced.

Our visit was on our way home from a holiday. The food was gorgeous would definitely recommend. The shop is very quirky with bits and bobs around the wall. We were very tempted by the cakes on offer but resisted just about. But won’t if we are in the area again as they looked scrumptious.

I’d rate this gem a whopping 10 out of 5! We stumbled upon it like a happy accident, and boy, are we glad we did. The food? Absolutely legendary! If you’re not loving this place, are you even living?

Three motorcyclists after a night camping with storm Kathleen, looking for a hearty breakfast. Not cheap, but oh so good, two of us had the Big Brekkie, the other Bacon and egg roll. Great coffee, which is such a change. Nice staff, nice ambience, will visit again.

I've been here for coffee and cake before but this was the first time for lunch. I'm vegetarian and the choice was great, I had a falafel and winter salad called winter bliss, my husband had the Moroccan stew, the mushroom burger was also amazing! This is just my kind of food - whole foods, wonderful flavours! The staff were really friendly, helpful and cheerful. Although we couldn't book a table, the waitress told us the best time to come. Would definitely recommend!!!

Small, friendly with quirky menu. Great food - I was more traditional, however, and had a wonderful double egg and bacon roll... Good coffee.

Lovely big cups of coffee, cheese scone and bacon on crumpets, followed by a slice of 'cake of the day'. Yummy food and good service.

Lovely community run little cafe opposite the church in Martock in a beautiful building made from the local stone, if only the stone could tell the stories it must of witnessed over the years. The staff were wonderfully welcoming and especially as they were in the midst of chaos after losing Internet and card payment facilities they relied on good old paper and pen. Ordered some delicious looking cakes and cream tea for the kids, all giving a big thumbs up. I looked at the specials board and went with a simple cheese and ham toasted sandwich in white bread. Served with a side salad and crisps. Nothing special but also nothing wrong with it, all tasted as expected, freshly made with a pleasing cheese pull without totally burning my mouth. Lovely, welcoming would love to visit again.
