Eleos in South Somerset

A very quaint cafe which sells a variety of options. I went for a raspberry smoothie and a slice of raspberry lemon drizzle cake (yes, I am obsessed with raspberries!). I also ordered a pizza with a few toppings, one of which being jalapenoes. I don't know what magic they work on their pizza, but the jalapenos raised it to another level. It was a tangy type and was insane with the pizza. Overall, I rate it a 10/10.

Came with my grandma for a late lunch, we ordered and the food took about 20 minutes. For myself I ordered a pepperoni pizza, where there was only 3 pieces of pepperoni and lots and lots of grease and oil. My grandma ordered a spicy chicken wrap but received normal chicken. The service was good but would not recommend for food :)

We visited a few weeks ago, just been so busy and no time to review. Lovely place to visit, warm welcome and good food. Priced well too. Will definitely visit again.

Absolutely fabulous! We had a cheese scone with cheese, chutney and salad and a cup of tea. The cheddar was really good! Scones were perfect, soft and warm. They have plenty of food choices, including vegan and gluten free. It's also very clean. They have toilet facilities.

Delicious milkshakes, smoothies and pizzas! Always feels great to be in there supporting local too. The staff are friendly and clearly recognise the regulars which creates a great atmosphere you wouldn't find in the chains.

I very much enjoyed my jacket potato with chilli, it came with a very tasty salad. They were also very lovely to my dog, bringing him his own bowl of water and another with a generous array of tasty biscuits. He can be a fussy critter but he was very happy.

I have enjoyed eating at Eleos, the food has always been very tasty. Great milk shakes as well. Wanted a coffee this morning and called in rather than going to the nearby chain coffee house. Oh dear, it was not a good coffee. Hardly any flavour whatsoever, in fact the instant I use at home would have more taste. I left half a mug full. Please Eleos, do change that coffee to something with more depth of flavour. Geoff

Have been a customer for a few years and there is nowhere better for drinks and eats. Coffee's are great and good varied eats. Sharon and her staff will always be happy to meet your order with a smile and thanks. Nice to know that Elios have just won an award for " Cafe of the Year" beating quite a few other businesses. Now under new ownership and run by the manager Sharon, you cannot go to a better coffee shop in Chard. Wonderful friendly atmosphere a varied menu and a great selection of drinks. Sharon has a good memory for customers names which makes you feel more welcome. Elios is my No1 cafe, and just to add they have just won an award for " Cafe of the Year".

My regular coffee stop. Always a cheery welcome;however busy. Gr8 coffee and service and an interesting range of food. The bacon and maple syrup pancakes are especially popular ! Had excellent toast this morning and booked in for Afternoon tea next month,! Gr8 team and a gr8 asset to the town. A community cafe for sure..Thanks guys.

Popped in for a quick coffee and cake. A small, cozy, café with friendly staff. Spacious as well. The coffee was excellent - just how it should come and in reasonably generous sized cups too (we had the medium cappuccino). What really stood out was the cakes - we had the mint tiffin. Wow! That taste - beats the corporates any day. Certainly worth going back for more.

We called in on the spur of the moment, decided on a croissant with jam and a cup of tea. The jam provided was really delicious with whole strawberries and the croissant served warm with butter. This is the second time we have visited Eleos and I can't praise it enough. Each time the food has been first class and not expensive which means we can come more often!

Occasionally stop here for coffee when shopping. Service very good.

I come to this place for years and this has always been my favourite healthy place in Chard and specially for the pizzas and shakes, the coffee is really good as well. They are usually very friendly and welcoming and usually is a busy place. They do some offers it depends on the day and time, please call or check some photos for this. The last few times I been here I’ve noticed that the pizzas are not working he same anymore that’s why I gave fours stars but this is one of the best places in chard and are pet friendly too.

Always come back to eleos. Such a great, affordable and relaxing place to go. Coffee is amazing and food is amazing too. Would recommend.

We were looking for somewhere for a late breakfast that wasn't a chain coffee shop. The cafe has the decor of a former insurance office vibe that said it offered good value, had breakfast wraps, unusual, or panini. They also offered two sizes of coffee cup not the standard chain coffee shop big bowls. The staff were friendly and efficient. Would definitely revisit when next in Chard.

Coffee ,cake and milkshake is where this place is at, really great coffee. As for pizza I would go elsewhere dough is dense, stogie the dough isn’t like a normal fresh pizza dough and not the best. Stick to what your good at id say.

Good coffee and very friendly staff, food is very basic though, panini, tea cakes and crumpets. But all freshly prepared.

We usually came for the pizza as it is brilliant and the smoothies as well, really welcoming service like always, fresh ingredients.

Really lovely place, a modern cafe with crochet cup covers! The food arrived hot and with plenty of butter for my hot tea cake without having to ask first, service was so quick and the atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant. Kids can wander around safely and play and dogs are welcome. Thanks ladies!

Crepes and shakes. Nice spot, with a garden. Broad clientelle but a youthful feel to the place and the menu. A credit to Chard and worth a visit.

Came here for Pancakes and it did not disappoint! I also had a coffee which I would say is one of the best I've ever had. Great value for money, great food and great service.

It was 1 minute past 3 and they stopped surving food at 3 even though i was waiting in the que for a good 10 minutes and they didnt inform me i was waiting for no reason as they was not going to serve me food becouse one minute had past very upset with the service provivded would not recommend has been going down hill for a while now food been hit and miss. Im unhappy with the fect i was there before they stopped surving food but as it took them so long to serve people (around 10 minitues ) i was then one minute past the time they stopped serving but the fact i was in elios before they stopped serving waiting in the que means they should have at least let me order my food.

The staff were so friendly and attentive, even though there was a sign informing customers they were badly understaffed. The coffee was perfect, the tea delicious and the food was beyond my expectations. If I was local this would be a regular haunt for me.

Called in for a coffee & sweet crepes, tasty & a find selection, staff very helpful did not know really what to have all looked super.

The ladies in the cafe were very helpful the cream tea was delicious, I do have one criticism the tea needs to be a bit stronger but it was very enjoyable

I visit here regularly and am always happy with the food. Today we had milkshakes and American style pancakes which were delicious. Coffee is always good too. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.

We always look for an independent cafe for a coffee, come across this little gem. The coffee was good and also a good toasted teacake, it was too early to eat more but the menu looked good and a reasonable price too. Clean and tidy a good find.

Amazed to find a coffee shop open at 1900 on a Friday night. A welcome relief to be honest. The two ladies working were kind, helpful and patient. The coffee was very nice and the homemade cakes delicious. Thank you

Passing through Chard needed a coffee, took a punt on this place despite the clip-art signage. Lovely people and a genuinely good flat white. Why anyone would go to the Costa when this place is three doors down is beyond me.

Beautiful little cafe with extra seating upstairs, they are always friendly, and the milkshakes are a must for the kids.

Unexpected rain put an early end to the days exploring and so comfort was sought with tea and cake in a deserted and still Chard. Luckily we spotted the cafe was open and with only one table spare (due to the tightly observed Covid restrictions)...

Very friendly & welcoming staff, positively engaged with making sure customers are safe with Covid QR code scan on entrance and thorough cleaning of tables & seats that we witnessed when visiting. Its great to support an independent, especially with a Costa Coffee camped virtually...

Hygiene & social distancing measures were perfect. Service & brownies also. Respect to the staff for what must be difficult. Also didn't feel too cold with doors open.

Called in today for coffees and the best ever cherry shortbreads. Excellent Covid 19 precautions and we felt totally safe. Good to visit a small independent cafe and support them in these difficult times.

Friendly service excellent Covid provisions

Polite greeter at door managing the customers for available tables/ take-aways. Less tables than normal due to Covid, but still a nice atmosphere. Now making more use of upstairs seating, rather than downstairs which seems mostly set out for orders/ payments. Pleasant room with comfy...

Very covid conscious and friendly staff. Drops stars due to the quality of the cakes we had. Must have been an off day, because the shortbread was awful. The Mrs could only fire down one mouthful then had to wrap it up and bin it outside. Tasted nothing like shortbread, imagine stale sponge tasting of veg oil and sugar, and you're about there.... i suspect it had been hanging around for a few days due to covid. Bit more quality control needed I'm afraid...

Lovely restaurant, had lunch there several times. Covid measures in place but staff not wearing masks, accept greeter. Food delicious. Brilliant ethos of helping others and supporting the vulnerable.

Very limited menu, we had panini that were not fully cooked and very bland. No salad no garnish. Service was friendly but slow.
