Harrys smokehouse is such a great place. Such lovely staff, they are always happy & friendly. They seem to love where they work, Service is prompt. You are sitting on tables in a field and the atmosphere is great. Harrys has a limited menu but there is enough to choose from. We quite often go to Harrys for a late lunch and love their jerk chicken. It used to come with rosemary fries. Last time it came with rice. Not sure which I prefer. They are both amazing. Yesterday we finally made it to Taco Tuesday and were amazed at just how good the Tacos were. They were delicious. So much so, my husband is still talking about them the next day. They have a volley ball net set up where families quite often have a knock around while waiting for their food, or after they have eaten. This adds to the happy & relaxed atmosphere of the place. Love this place, shame its seasonal.

Stopped here along with the Community shop - This used to be Holne Community Shop and Tea Room and just opened under this new name. We’re kind enough to sell me a lovely gluten free lemon cake before opening as I was walking, really tasty!

27th Dec Supper Menu, first query "Pan Grattato" miss spelt Gratatto on the menu an italian dish of crunchy fried bread crumbs with garlic and herbs was missing from the red pepper dish, Green beans with capers and red onion and not a single caper on the plate beans cold and under cooked dish inedible due to a very over powering vinegar taste, that aside what truly put me off was witnessing a member of staff eating bits of food from containers and licking fingers then went on to prepare pears eating the trimmings and again licking fingers prior to plunging the hand into the plastic tub to retrieve another pear for cutting in half and not once did that member of staff wash their hands, a huge hygeine issue right there, i will not be returning.

Staying on a campsite nearby and called in for evening meal. A really nice friendly vibe and obviously a lot of locals using it. Dog friendly. The food was really excellent. Fantastic menu - not just your bog standard pub grub. I had the Monkfish Goan curry and a pear and apple crumble. It’s not the cheapest but I’d rather pay a little more for genuinely quality food. Definitely recommend

Dropped by on recommendation after a long walk with the dogs at nearby Hembury Woods Beautiful location, overlooking the stunning Devon countryside, with a good size car park Really good lunch and main menu offering a good selection of homemade dishes Would definitely recommend the fish pie, stuffed full with cod, salmon and prawns in a delicious creamy sauce, with a cheesy mash top, one of the best I’ve ever tasted The ham, eggs and chips were knockout also, the ham being cooked to perfection on the premises, and served with proper chips, a couple of perfectly cooked eggs and garden peas, all decent sized portions Have found ourselves a new favourite for lunch, looking forward to our next visit already
