Harrys smokehouse is such a great place. Such lovely staff, they are always happy & friendly. They seem to love where they work, Service is prompt. You are sitting on tables in a field and the atmosphere is great. Harrys has a limited menu but there is enough to choose from. We quite often go to Harrys for a late lunch and love their jerk chicken. It used to come with rosemary fries. Last time it came with rice. Not sure which I prefer. They are both amazing. Yesterday we finally made it to Taco Tuesday and were amazed at just how good the Tacos were. They were delicious. So much so, my husband is still talking about them the next day. They have a volley ball net set up where families quite often have a knock around while waiting for their food, or after they have eaten. This adds to the happy & relaxed atmosphere of the place. Love this place, shame its seasonal.

Stopped here along with the Community shop - This used to be Holne Community Shop and Tea Room and just opened under this new name. We’re kind enough to sell me a lovely gluten free lemon cake before opening as I was walking, really tasty!

How superb this place was. We were with a party of 18 or more. The staff were brilliant, the choice on the menu was expansive, meals ordered and each looked and tasted sublime. Excellent quality food. Great dining area. Gorgeous fire. A fun atmosphere and vibe within. A real heart and not one to be missed if visiting the area.

By far the best place I have stayed in decades. The venue is cosy and the rooms are amazingly comfortable. The real standout are the people. Every single person was welcoming, kind and considerate. Made you feel so looked after and incredibly attentive to each guest needs. A wonderful environment and and even better people. Cannot rate highly enough. 11/10 will be returning and reccomending to friends.

My family and I have visited the Church House Inn a number of times and it is a fantastic pub for all seasons. There is always a cosy fire in the winter and the garden is a treat for when the sun is shining! The service is fantastic, very welcoming and friendly staff, and to top it all off the food is particularly excellent. Highly recommend as a destination!

Really nice historic, family run pub in the quietest little village. Really good food every time (especially Toms chips!) Stayed the night and had such a good sleep, woke up to the birds and a sunrise too! Ring ahead if you're unsure of times or what's on the menu, everyone's super friendly. Would definitely come again and recommend to anyone!

Dropped by on recommendation after a long walk with the dogs at nearby Hembury Woods Beautiful location, overlooking the stunning Devon countryside, with a good size car park Really good lunch and main menu offering a good selection of homemade dishes Would definitely recommend the fish pie, stuffed full with cod, salmon and prawns in a delicious creamy sauce, with a cheesy mash top, one of the best I’ve ever tasted The ham, eggs and chips were knockout also, the ham being cooked to perfection on the premises, and served with proper chips, a couple of perfectly cooked eggs and garden peas, all decent sized portions Have found ourselves a new favourite for lunch, looking forward to our next visit already

Heard this was a lovely venue and food was to match, thought I was being punked and actually visiting a 'Karen's Diner'. We were met with 0 customer service. I appreciate it was busy but the attitude of the staff was absolutely appalling. (According to another customer the lady on the till is always like that) After waiting 30 minutes for drinks to arrive with the food. Food just thrown down on the table half the crisps ended up on the floor and the server didn't utter a word just continued chucking stuff down. Plastic found in food which I would of notified staff about at the time but the fear of having my head bitten off and food thrown back at me was too high. Lots of other customers around us had complaints too. Would have gone back to order cake because they looked pretty tasty but didn't want to have to deal with the staff attitude again and inconvenience them by ordering. Only visit if you want abrupt service, made to feel like a naughty child, and food thrown down on the table with plastic in.

Eat here Sunday Lunch. 16/2 4 persons. All had the beef, amazing. 3 desserts, great. Bath Ales Gem was spot on, Malbec Good. Service great. Actually fantastic. Really busy. Great atmosphere. We used to own The Tradesman’s Arms 2008/15. The CHI was the worst pub around. The new owners certainly lifted it immensely. Everything was perfect. Could not fault ANYTHING.
