Lovely little cafe with seating outside, the breakfast looks amazing but we missed it, the fish finger sandwich was amazing and the sausage sandwich as well. Friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble, we had a little wait for food as it was so busy but still very efficient service considering (I've waited longer at restaurants and paid more!) Highly recommended, nothing like a good meal or tea and cake after a walk on the moors.

We have been a few times and always lovely food and great service. Not sure if it has been taken over but terrible service and no longer serving lunch time food just pasties and cakes. Service was awful, like they really could not be bothered and when the scones came out they had been microwaved so much you could hold them through being sooo hot. Once cooled they were like rubber. Very disappointing was always such a great place.

We were tired and hungry outside in the rain but fortunately a nice lady turned up at 10:00 and let us in an hour early! Not only did she make us tea, also put a couple of pasties in the oven. A very warm welcome for 2 tired walkers, out in the rain. And a big thank you 😊

We took our two dogs here on Saturday after walking next to the Dart for a late lunch and were absolutely delighted. We had a sandwich and a pasty with a pot of tea. The sandwiches were gorgeous, really deeply filled with prawns and salad and the pasty was fabulous. The dogs were more than welcomed, altogether it was a really lovely experience. Apparently they offered take away meals last summer so walkers could grab a re-fill and keep going and they are currently working on moving their operation to the pub across the road in the next few months as they really need more space than they currently have. I suspect that people with their friendly, cheerful attitude and talents will make a real success of it - it’s amazing what they have achieved since opening in 2020 with all the challenges that must have presented!

Very disappointing... As we were about to leave, three more people arrived and were similarly refused and therefore disappointed. They told us the tea room's website advertised it as open - as does this (Trip Advisor) now, today!!!So despite hospitality businesses' pleas for taxpayer support, this one at least is prepared to turn away five customers in five minutes. The sign up the road advertised it as a commuity run tea room and shop so I had to call in. The place as you would guess is run by locals and it is brilliant. A good range of food on offer, sandwiches, ploughmans, home made soup, cream teas and a range of cakes. Our lunch was very good. The place has a 5 on the hygiene rating so you can't get better. The tables are nicely spaced and they have the old heavy wipeable cloth on them, those of us who are 'of an age' would call them 'oilcloths'. Don't know what they go as now. However they gave it that old-time cafe feel that I remember from years ago. It is worth a detour any day. Staff all chatty and helpful. Also has a good shop attached. My first impression of Holne is that time has stood still in this idyllic village. Not so, 35 volunteers work together to make this community venture a great experience. The shop stocks what people may want, be they villagers, visitors or walkers. The Tea rooms are a friendly meeting place providing fresh, locally sourced and well cooked food. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The first day we were there, a visitor from Italy was there trying to access the WiFi with no success. Before long a local arrived with her laptop, ordered her coffee and settled down to work. It was only a matter of minutes before she had sorted out the Italian visitor's WiFi problems and the two were busy tapping away.

Local voluntary run shop and cafe. Shop is well stocked, cafe provides a good selection on the menu. We had cream tea, but have had ploughman's before - food is fresh and nicely served. Voluntary staff are friendly, though having only two to serve both shop and cafe seemed a bit tight - understand that they are having problems getting enough volunteers. They do an excellent job and should be supported.

Excellent little cafe & one of the best gluten free fruit cream teas I've ever had. Very friendly people to boot.

Stayed here for one night lovely little pub rooms very nice and cosy unfortunately couldn’t watch tv as there wasn’t a remote and couldn’t use the shower as the button was missing of it which definitely would of been noticed on cleaning … the carpet in stairs were quite dirty and the people I didn’t find very welcoming sadly

Great little bakery! Amazing, friendly and knowledgeable staff and great coffee and pastries! Pasties are always awesome too, coming in from Cornwall!

Christmas lunch for 12 of us. Pre ordered from a balanced and varied seasonal menu that included fish and vegetarian options. Excellent value and we were very well looked after. Exceptional selection of well cooked Vegetables, recipe for the red cabbage please . Some of us were disappointed that we didn't have room for a desert ! This is a family owned proper pub with helpful competent staff. Parking right opposite but payment by card challenged some of us oldies.

Limited opening times, No food so asked out of curtesy if grandson could eat a snack. Was told no but to eat outside in the garden which had a closed sign on the gate, so had eat in the smoking area. Didn't feel particularly welcome. No alternative snack was offered. Wasn't very accommodating, we were staying local and would have returned for a meal but they said closed Monday and Tuesday and we would need to book if wanted to return. I would advise anyone to give this pub a a miss as there are much better pubs in the area
