This place is unbelievable! Book It! you will not be dissappointed! We had the pleasure of Sunday Lunch here and it was great, such taste! we both had the beef and all the trimmings and it was wonderful, From the minute you arrive the attention to service is brillant they really look after you from start to finish Well done to all the staff there couldn't have had a nicer meal, price was really reasonable as well, really looking forward to returning many times during the year! Well done all again :)

Lovely traditional pub in a quiet spot. Great menu with plenty of choice. Loved that there were 'small plates' menus as after bariatric surgery I can not eat too much. The prices are very reasonable and food is great. My grandparents visit here once a month on average and always spoke highly of it so thought I'd try it out as it is my birthday. I visited with my grandparents and daughter. Staff are so attentive and always around. Very polite and absolutely would go again. It was Sunday when we had lunch but requested to see the monday-saturday menus and for my preferences there's some cracking options. Already planning when to visit next. Save room on your main, you definitely need to order the lemon slice with raspberry coulis! Yum 😋

We went here with 4 friends and our 2 dogs for a late Sunday Roast The food was excellent John and the rest of the staff were first class and made us all very welcome and even gave some treats for our dogs - nothing was too much trouble. We would all highly recommend it and will be back soon - The full menu is excellent . Also very easy to park as they have a large car park.

What a great place, nice beer, great food and lovely welcoming staff, who provided great service. My only regret is we didn't go there until the last day of our holiday, when we return to the area we will definitely be visiting several times.

Family gathering for Sunday lunch and birthday celebration. Staff were so friendly and food was perfect most of us had roast dinner which was delicious! To top it all they brought out a lovely birthday candle arrangement and balloons for the birthday girl!

We enjoyed a lovely, home-cooked evening meal at the Old Inn, which was just a short drive from where we were staying near Dittisham. My husband chose fish and chips, while I had belly of pork, which was amazing, served with a generous serving of fresh vegetables. We chose the pub because it is dog-friendly and were warmly greeted by the pub dogs, who demonstrated their tricks and shared treats with our dog. The owners made us feel very welcome and we enjoyed chatting with them and fellow diners. We will definitely return to the Old Inn on future visits for a delicious, cosy meal in this friendly, local pub.

We went for our first meal Saturday 2nd September it was so good, we went back each day apart from Mon & Tues [ as they closed ] Juliet & staff were really helpful as I have allergies, nothing was too much trouble. Portions were large & of excellent quality.Good choice of local beers etc. Menu was wide & varied. Will return when next in the area.

My husband and I have visited this pub a lot over the past week to dine and have a drink as we were staying in Halwell. The food has been superb and the staff have been amazing . They have really looked after us and made us feel welcome . Will definitely be back.

Had the most fantastic "big birthday" family meal here tonight Juliet and staff went all out to make it special decorations and a lovely balloon sculpture . There were 13 of us and all meals came out together and were piping hot. If you want a proper home cooked pub meal this is the place for you. Excellent food varied menu and great atmosphere. Thank you Old Inn for a lovely evening.

If £15 for two slices of grey roast beef that were hard to cut and chew and an assortment of nondescript vegetables is a good meal, then it warrants five stars.

After a stressful wet camping trip at woodlands we stopped off here on our way back on the chance they could feed myself partner 2 kids and we could take our lab. We weren't disappointed. We where welcomed straight away and shown to a table. They offered our dog Oscar some treats and water. We all had a Sunday roast and it was delicious. They even brought out a little roast for our dog. Dessert was a must as home made. We wiuld highly recommended this place. Great atmosphere Great food and wonderful staff. 👌

This is a good place to stop on the way to the coast for lunch. Good selection of beer and other drinks. Good value pub menu.

15 of us went for Father's day, whilst on holiday just up the road. Obviously we booked a few weeks before. We had a lovely area in the pub - sat in a square - making it easy to talk to each. The food was delicious with a good choice of dishes. Staff were friendly and helpful. Even the dog was happy!

Great local pub, Steve and Juliet who run the pub welcome you to the warm and friendly atmosphere, the food is really good and a good amount of choice, makes our kids feel like part of the family when we go in Highly recommended

Stopped by chance on route to Salcombe to grab a late lunch. Very friendly helpful landlord, clean tidy traditional pub and the food was very good.

Fitted 9 of us in at short notice, Took our order straight away, meal arrived within minutes of ordering. Meals were good portions and cooked to perfection. Friendly staff so made our Sunday. Thank you and will drop in again later in the week 👌👌

We had the loveliest welcome at this Inn. The food was amazing and handmade by the chef. Two of us had the homemade pie which was delicious. One had the fish cakes which were so fresh and had been made that day and the last member of our family had the hake, which was fabulous and plentiful. The customer service was above and beyond. What a surprising little find. Last minute stop on way to Dartmouth & had an amazing sunday lunch. Really good roast & the crumble (with custard,ice cream or clotted cream) was delicious. It was busy, but they squeezed us in and the service was great. Lovely dogs too! Can't recommend The Old Inn enough!

We had a superb 90th Birthday party,with family & friends coming from afar afield as Canada & Scotland, we all agreed the evening was made even better, by the fantastic food all picked from the menu, freshly cooked which arrived altogether,how they achieved that was a minor miracle. Such a warm welcome great service and friendly staff throughout the evening. We highly recommend The Old Inn for any Functions,or just a night out, and we will certainly be going again.

Stopped by for dinner while on holiday in the area and can’t say enough good things. There were 4 adults and 4 children and the staff were so accommodating and absolutely amazing with the children. An excellent choice of food and All 8 meals were great. Would definitely recommend this place. Thank you for a great evening

Stopped here for lunch on route to our holiday in Stoke Fleming. Immediately on walking in felt very welcome, the guy behind the bar is a credit to the pub, being friendly and attentitive. Good selection of food and drinks to choose, the food was great and home cooked. You have to wait as it is cooked fresh but this is a positive and not a criticism. Good value for money and highly recommended if you are in the area, may well stop again next week on the way home!

Great to find a nearby pub open after a walk with the grandchildren and dogs. Good beer (Salcombe & Otter) and good food. Nothing flashy on the menu but all the pub favourites, reasonably priced and enjoyed by all (cheddar and cauliflower soup was spot on). The helpful landlady was able to put all 12 (and 3 dogs) of us in the back room and by time we left, it was pretty busy for a Thursday. Well worth a visit if you are in the area and need sustenance.

Amazing as always! We go away once a year as a group of women and we often go to this pub! They’re so lovely every time we go! This year a couple of the women had their 30th birthdays and we had a booking of 21, we had amazing service, the food was so fast even with a large group! Plus we always love watching Sadie do her beer mat trick! If you are in the area, you can’t go wrong with a visit!

Fantastic food! We had 21 diners and 2 were celebrating their 30th. The pub employees put up banners and helium balloons and made the table look amazing - thank you guys for your efforts we all appreciated your attention to detail

My auntie organised a 30th birthday meal here for a large group of us. The staff went above and beyond to make it really special. They gave us such a warm welcome, and had decorated the function room with balloons and banners off their own accord, which was a lovely touch. Amazingly, they managed to get 18 meals out at the same time, all piping hot, and were happy to serve the cake that we brought along with ice cream etc. We couldn't have asked for friendlier service, and we loved Sadie and Cara ❤️ thank you so much!

First time of visiting for a special birthday meal. The welcome by staff was first class along with the meal all 19 of us commended on the super food served. For me quality of the Ale was superb. Well worth a visit if your in the area. The 2 house dogs and their paw tricks made the vist well worthwhile. Many thanks The Old Inn.

Stayed here for one night in the motorhome on the way to Torcross to learn about WW2 Operation Tiger The car park was plenty big enough and flat. We popped in for a few beers and some bar snacks. We were not charged for staying and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Perfect pub stop. Torcross is about 20 mins drive away.

One of the nicest local pubs I've been to in a while if you're in the area and looking for somewhere to go I recommend this place really nice people a lovely dog and brilliant all round

We love coming to the Old Inn for Sunday roast and lunches. Food is always fantastic and the staff are super personable, friendly and gracious. Our dog Sadie loves it too, especially since the pub is so dog friendly. All-round favorite! Our vote: Best pub in Devon!

Stopped for lunch on a very rainy day. Made to feel very welcome and the service was great. Dogs (dry) were allowed. The choice of food was amazing and with plenty of gluten free options. The food was lovely, with good portions and we left very happy.

We were staying nearby on holiday and popped in for a drink one evening and dinner the next. Lovely local pub, dog friendly and they have 2 dogs too. The more lively one was behind the bar, probably a good thing as our dog wants a game with every other dog he meets! The staff were really friendly and it had a nice family run vibe. Some nice beers on tap and the food was really flavourful, better than I expected from a pub. We particularly enjoyed the homemade deserts. Good size portions and great value for money. Definitely recommend visiting!

The Old Inn is a lovely old worldy,cosy country pub,and very clean..the bar man was very welcoming,we ordered the prawn,salmon and crab cocktail for starters,mine with gluten free bread,delicious!!!my main was a big jacket spud with squash and bean chili and side salad ,my husband had the local sausages,two eggs,chips and pees.large portions,freshly cooked,the wait is worth it.a bit pricey for us,but great quality produce,lovely lunch great atmosphere,we'll return.

The best pub I have been to in a long time - toilets were spotless, food delicious and service from helpful smiley staff. Defo 5 stars. Book before you go or you won't get in. Dog friendly too

Visited Friday evening for dinner, very friendly staff, extensive menu and a great vegetarian selection. We all had a great veggie meal even though we are all omnivors. Excellent white Rioja and well kept beer. Well done!

Utterly lovely from start to finish! The friendly staff were helpful and efficient. Wine was lovely. There were 4 of us and each and every plate of food was perfect! Prawn cocktail, pate, fish pie, liver and one of the best fish n chips Ive ever had (thick chunk of cod, flaky and sweet with crispy batter mmmm) desserts were great too. We are coming back.

Had an amazing time at the old inn. We went for a freinds birthday and was made very welcome. We walked to the pub and got soaked to the bone on the way there. The lady there made sure we got warm and dry. We had a lovely lunchtime meal, the waitress was also freind and helpful. Will definitely be returning.

Very reasonably priced Sunday lunch. Choice of real ales and ciders as well as common lagers. Friendly bar maid a real joy and the landlord and lady equally friendly . Perfect we are defiantly going to pay return visit . Not open monday Tuesday worth noting if in the area. Otherwise book if eating as very popular very justifiably so .

After reading reviews we decided to go here as they catered for gluten free. We were not disappointed. The menu for vegetarian/gluten free was excellent as well as a normal menu. The food was really tasty and the staff were very accommodating. Excellent customer service and would highly recommend.

Great friendly atmosphere, helpful staff. Menu is currently limited due covid but what there is excellent. Just keep eye in opening and serving times as not always open all day. plenty space indoors and out. Well worth visiting. Oh and the bar spaniel may do a few tricks for you as well.

We stayed at Woodlands Family Theme park for the week and stopped here for my birthday meal. It was absolutely amazing. The food was fantastic. The service was amazing. The owners and waiting staff took time to stop and talk to us. We met the pub dogs who were an absolute delight and they showed off their tricks to rhe children and were given a surprise from Sadie the Dog to bring home. We stay at woodlands every year or so and will ensure to visit the Old Inn everything. Thank you for an amazing evening of entertainment. The children are busy using your beer mats to try and teach our Lab the same trick, it's not going great!

We were on a family holiday at a local theme park and went for a meal for my wife's birthday. So glad we picked here, staff were fantastic, very friendly from booking on the phone all the way through. Proper home cooked food, i had the lasagne special as recommended by the waitress, it was superb. We all had a great evening, it was a lovely end to our holidays. Little added bonus of 2 pub doggies one of which had a great party trick with a beer mat !! Absolutely will be back here one day.
