Lovely experience! The owner was very welcoming and the setting was cosy. The staff were attentive and there was plenty of food and drink provided. Loved it, will definitely be going back!

Best chippy in Thornbury! There is pretty much always a massive queue outside this place as it’s so popular- the wait is worth it though! I love the cheese burger and chips with their curry sauce. Portions are huge and everyone’s always so friendly when you go in!

Visited for a friend’s birthday and had such a lovely time. Great selection of beers, nice atmosphere and friendly service. Pizzas were great too!

Ronnie's is really special. We enjoyed an 8 course taster menu plus a wine flight last week. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. There were four of us and we loved every course. The wines paired really well with each dish and it was great to see that they were from the UK, showcasing some great vineyards. The building is lovely and there's a great atmosphere inside. Warm and welcoming. Thank you Ronnie. Superb. We'll be back!

Wonderful experience at Ronnie's of Thornbury. The eight course taster menu and wine flight was superb. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. We loved the UK wines which were really well paired with the dishes. The building is lovely and it's so cosy and welcoming inside. The staff were friendly and looked after us well. We will be back. Order chicken tikka and a chicken saag plus rice, we collected the food it was hot and on time but we were not impressed with the taste. The chicken saga wasn't that great in fact half of it went into the bin, the tikka was better but it's no where near the best tikka I have tasted. Having recently moved to Thornbury we really wanted this place to turn out to be our new fav curry house but we won't return l.

EDIT: Decided to give them another chance and did not regret. From 1 star to 5. Inside is really nice atmosphere, the waitresses very pleasant and took great care of us. Food was super amazing, tasty and huge portions. Since my first experience, I have been already few times at Thai Basil and order at least once a month food collection and very happy customer now. REPLY: the given review wasn't because you couldn't accommodate us, it happens. The one star rating was given for the unacceptable rudeness of the woman who called us to tell that you don't have availability anymore. -- Didn’t get to go to the restaurant. Made a reservation online and 3 hours before was called by a rude woman saying that I could have the table for 2 hours from 5 pm instead 7 pm as booked. When I said it’s too early for me, she replied so sorry and hang up on me straight away.

Been here loads of times actually use to love the curry’s but after tonight will never go back, ordered a chicken tikka dhansak, was absolutely no spice at all, never been so disappointed in my life. Actually fuming your lucky your shut now otherwise I would be back and launch it at your face. Never in my life have I had a dhansak with no spice Bombay aloo was definitely not fresh, all clumped together, no juice or sauce. Few mouthfuls and chucked it in the bin. Lost a good customer.

A bit disappointed if I am honest I booked to celebrate my daughter’s birthday, we were put on a table in the bar where the tv was showing the football and there were lots of people in the bar shouting at the football. We couldn’t hear ourselves think never mind speak. We had to inform them of our order a day before at least, which we did but after our meal we thought about having a pudding but we were told that the kitchen is closed and we should have pre ordered puddings too, that wasn’t pointed out to us and the time was only 6pm… maybe kitchens close at 6pm these days. So we could only have ice cream and brownies which the children had. Also at least one person was sat vaping.. On the plus side everything was clean and the food was nice and nicely presented. Also food was exactly as our pre requested order, the waitresses were really nice and service was good. Yes I could have said something but as it was my daughter’s birthday celebration I really didn’t want to spoil it any further and chose to just make best of it I could.. I always tip but chose not too, sorry to the helpful staff but I wasn’t in the mood to tip considering we couldn’t hear each other speak through the cheers and some industrial language. If you choose to go to Royal George, check where your table is going to be.. We have been many times before and always sat at back in restaurant area and it was quieter….

What a fabulous restaurant- we booked for a family birthday of 13 with 3 children. The staff were absolutely fantastic, keeping food & drinks served & the cake brought out at the end with our coffee. Definitely recommend…
