Ate here last night , whilst the food tasted nice , both my wife and I were up all night with severe upsets stomachs 🤮😔

Really enjoyed a birthday meal here. Food & service was great. Drinks a bit expensive but we had a lovely evening.

If you are looking to be introduced or are introducing someone to fine Dining this is the place to go. Well presented complex dishes using modern techniques such as the use of an ingredient in multiple cooking methods. An atmosphere is of those dining are there to appreciate the food. If you are a regular fine diner looking for cutting edge, unique , breaking the boundaries or unusual combinations this is less likely to excite you. The wine pairing was more adventurous.

Incredible. This is simply the most wonderful and delicious dining experience that I have ever had. They also catered for my gluten allergy without any hesitation. I cannot rate Ronnie's highly enough, it is incredible.

We were blown away by this place. Booked by friends we had no idea what to expect, but as soon as we were greeted at the door by very friendly staff, I knew we were going to have a good evening. The food was top quality, although the menu is restricted each dish is exquisitely presented and tasted amazing, good food cooked well. Simple, others could learn a lot from this approach. We also did the wine flight and were delighted to be informed of each one, its origin and even history of the vineyard. I’m so impressed by this restaurant, wish is was closer to us in Surrey as we would definitely be back!

From the moment you enter this quaint grade II listed building, the journey begins, with a warm welcome from the front-of-house manager. We opted for the a la carte menu and had the Grilled Pork Belly for the starter, BBQ Lamb loin and lamb neck tagine for the main, followed by the chocolate fondant for dessert. The Grilled Pork belly for the starter, presented as a lollipop was melt-in-the-mouth flavours and the food was taken to the next level with the glaze, peanuts and salad. Then onto the main and the Lamb, and this was a tale of two halves from the beautifully cooked Lamb loin to the intense lamb neck this was a pure treat for the taste buds. The best lamb we have ever tasted. Then finally the dessert, a light chocolate fondant enhanced with cherries was a lovely way to end the meal. This was not a rich dish, it was perfectly balanced by the cherries and the three ways they were presented. The menu offers several options from the amazingly priced express set £25 three-course menu to the wonderous a la carte menu or the Sunday lunch. This is the best food we’ve had in a long time. We expect good food but are often disappointed. Tgus meal was perfect and full of surprises! If we lived nearer we’d be back often. Highly recommend. Service was faultless. Thank you

We went to Thornbury on a very cold wet day intending to find somewhere to eat. My goodness did we find Ronnie's. An absolutely brilliant restaurant. The food was exceptional and beautifully prepared and presented. Flavours balanced and delicious. The staff were attentive and courteous. An impressive wine list with a wide selection sold by the glass. My greatest regret is that i have lived in Gloucestershire for 30 years and i never realised such a top quality restaurant was nestled away in Thornbury. We have been to Ronnie's many times now and every time the whole experience has been superb. The atmosphere is lovely, the choice of menu is great and there are always several, beautifully tasty, amuse - bouche. But the best of all is the amazing maitre d'; Richard Hervey. He is so knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and personable. He makes every visit perfect. Thank you Richard

Very good food for the price. Had the £65 tasting menu and was delighted by every course. Been to quite a few starred restaurants and Ronnie's holds up well against quite a few of them! Will definitely be back.

We visited between Christmas and New Year and had both the Traditional and Vegetarian Festive Tasting Menus. Great service and very impressed with the mix and quality of the dishes. Very interesting wine list and not too hard on the wallet either!

Excellent dining experience. The food is delicate and well prepared. Don't expect large pieces of meat. Enjoy each dish with an accompanied cup of wine.

I took my mum as it was her birthday. We had the express menu 3 courses for £25. What a gastronomic delight. Food that looked exquisite and tasted sublime. Topped off with a floater coffee and the best hot chocolate I have ever tasted. My mum also thought I had spent a fortune, brownie points for me. A win win in my book.

Went there on a Saturday afternoon. Their set lunch is called Express menu (light and informal), £25 for 3 courses, but don't be afraid it'll be in a rush because they served it on a relaxing tempo. For us, the quantity was more than enough. Food was very tasty, I most loved the wild mushroom risotto with black truffles as it was really well executed! Overall, reasonably priced for this food quality. The service was excellent too, and so did the ambience. Well done, Ronnie's team!

Fantastic experience. We walked in not knowing what to expect, and noted it was a bit more pricey than most of the other restaurants in the Thornbury high street area. But ultimately it was worth every penny and so much more. The food was super delicious and well-presented - easily the best we've tasted in the area by a mile. The staff was extremely pleasant and polite. The service we received was considerably better than some of the fancy restaurants/ hotels we dined at recently. I would've given them 10 stars in this review if possible! We will go back again!

We recently celebrated our wedding at Ronnie's in their private dining room, enjoying the tasting menu & accompanying wine flight. We couldn't have asked for more. Richard was absolutely wonderful in how he looked after us, and the meal and ambience was exquisite. Thank you to all at Ronnie's for helping make our very special day all we could have hoped for.

A great place to celebrate a special occasion

Another visit and this time to celebrate our 22nd wedding anniversary. A superb meal, we chose the taster menu with wine flight. We are so lucky to have this wonderful restaurant on our door step. Excellent friendly service from the front of house staff as usual.

Another fantastic visit! The food is fresh, seasonal and beautifully presented. We had the 6 course tasting menu which was exceptionally balanced and well thought out. The front of house staff were super polite and attentive. We will be back soon!

First visit to Ronnie's. My husband has family who live in the area, so we met at the restaurant for a family get together. The surroundings are elegant, warm and comfortable, with pretty hanging flower decorations that really suit the ambiance. We were warmly greeted by the staff, and looked after from start to finish by our waiter Richard, who could not do enough to make it a special experience for us all. The menu and wines were explained, to help choose what goes with each meal choice. We all chose a main course and puddings, but what was really nice, chef Ronnie sent out a taster of the cauliflower and curry soup ( this was so delicious, I could have eaten a huge bowl of it!), we all had something different, my husband had the beef, I chose chicken. Both were absolutely delicious. I already knew that I would have the bread and butter pudding for dessert. What an absolute winner! The best I've ever tasted. I would highly recommend Ronnie's. When we are back in the area, we would definitely come back. Thank you Ronnie and team for making our experience with you an amazing one.

Wonderful lunch here. The restaurant is inviting inside decor wise but it was only us for the first hour or so the atmosphere wasn't buzzy! Attentive waiter & we chose the sharing plate menu. Everything was beautifully presented and apart from 1 dish which didn't quite work for us it was delicious. We left room for puds & coffee & can truely say it was a lovely birthday meal !! Only downside...the loo / bathroom was freezing cold!!

Sorry to say not up to usual standard. The strange potato dauphinoise was swimming in butter and cream laying across the dish. Fillet steak off the menu Sirloins as a replacement. Tart tatin looked as if all components had been cooked separately. Good service. Maybe chefs day off.

Well what can you say a fantastic venue we where invited to a wedding lunch at Ronnie's you could not fault the several and quality of the food and drink , We go to a number of high class restaurants and this is one I can say ticked all the boxes

Easily the best meal I've had in Thornbury, and one of my favourite meals ever. The food was beautiful, the setting is lovely and the staff and service were 5 star. I can't rate them highly enough.

I've been to Ronnie's before, and I thought the food was absolutely fantastic, in a beautiful ambient setting, so of course had to go back! On this return visit I was struck again by the comfortable yet refined decor, the fabulous selection of food available, and the sheer quality and attention to detail in the meal. In addition, the waiter went above and beyond in every way; unfortunately I had two fussy eaters with me that I hadn't known about in advance and he made sure to amend dishes and do everything he could to accommodate not only their needs, but their specific preferences (for example, one cannot have different foods touching each other, so they changed the entire plating for him). Absolutely recommend to anybody, this is a place not to be missed

We visited on a weeknight and had an amazing time. The food and service were exceptional. I struggled to find a menu before visiting, and I think they update it regularly. I would highly recommend it to anyone; it is expensive but it's worth every penny.

We’ve just had our work Christmas Lunch at Ronnie’s and it was fabulous. Beautifully and imaginatively presented, palatable courses which proved delicious without exception. We were greeted on arrival and exceptionally well looked after throughout. If that weren’t enough, the atmosphere and Christmas decorations were charming. Highly recommended!

We had a lovely tasting menu for a celebration lunch - each dish was excellent. Only comment was that the prawns came late on, but were more akin to a starter - would have preferred to start with them.

Myself and my partner had stumbled into Thornbury and found Ronnie's for a quick lunch. Little did we know that this would be the best restaurant we had ever visited! To begin with, the waiter was very friendly and showed us to our table. We quickly noticed that the decor was fantastic, there were beautiful flowers on each table and the background music was perfect. Amazing start. We picked our menu choices and were absolutely stunned how beautiful and how tasty each plate was. You can tell that Ronnie's have taken a lot of time to carefully create these dishes as they are so unique in terms of the combinations used. The wine choices were absolutely spot on too, we were fans of the Hungarian wine options available. The experience was so special, myself and my partner returned again a couple days later for Sunday lunch. We 100% recommend Ronnie's, we are already planning that we will return again and literally cannot wait.

My wife and I have been desparate to go to this restaurant for years so when we finally had an opportunity this weekend we went. We have been building up the experience in our head for years and for it to be even better than we imagined was just incredible. It is, by far, the best food we have ever eaten. The flavours were incredible and the pace the meal is served at means that even the most fast paced of people ( like we are) are forced to slow down and enjoy the meal. Yes it is more expensive than your average meal out. But with excellent service, exquisite food and beautiful wine pairing, it is worth every penny. In a world full of over promising and under achieving, this is a restaurant that does the opposite by leaning on beautiful food and wonderfully cookery skills. Thank you for the best meal of our lives.

We celebrated my wife's birthday on Saturday at Ronnies of Thornbury with a total of 21 family and friends. From arrival to departure, our expectations were exceeded. Arrival cocktails were delicious and the food was not only delicious but the presentation was a work of art on every plate. Richard and his team attended to the service impeccably and unobtrusively ensuring that nobody was unattended even though we kept moving about. This was a lovely, relaxed and enjoyable day which we will remember for a very long time. Thank you Ronnie, Richard and the Team.

Small taster dishes at lunchtime. It more than sufficed as a light lunch. All food is freshly cooked so it is not rushed but well worth the wait. Quiet, relaxed feeling with a very attentive, friendly and approachable waiter. Will return for evening dining; looking forward to the 6 course tasting menu with 'Flight wines'.

A wilfully eccentric but excellent place. No champagnes, but a good selection if English sparkling wine. No extra veg with main courses. But e erything we had was excellent. We even got a warm welcome after having arrived too early, unannounced, and nearly let their dogs out! We will definitely return if we are in the area.

Wonderful atmosphere, food and service in a very attractively fitted out and decorated cottage. Quiet atmosphere making talking unobtrusive to others and easy to hear. Recommend a visit. I drove 2 hours to get there tomeet a friend. Very worthwhile.

We went on Friday 4 February and found the food to be excellent and the table service perfect. Overall a superb night out, fully recommended and already planning the next visit.

Booked a christmas dinner several weeks ago only to be phoned weeks later and told this was an error and they aren't actually open on Christmas day this year. Christmas dinner plans ruined... thanks for that, I'm sure the food is adequate but I'll never be venturing to eat there in future after this debacle.

I've been 4 times and the food is always perfection, and the service is fantastic. My absolute favourite restaurant.

So, taking advantage of the government's offer my family of 4 took a trip to Ronnie's tonight. I can only say that it was probably the nicest fillet steak I have eaten out (and trust me I have had a few). It was perfectly cooked, service was amazing and the atmosphere was friendly. This included my 10 year old son and 7 year old daughter loving every mouthful of their food and clearing every plate clean. I would have happily paid full price so this is a must visit right now. To top it off you can bring your own bottle (s) of wine to enjoy (with a small corkage charge). I cannot reccomend Ronnie's enough. Absolutely beautiful food and right now amazing value for money.

A warm and friendly atmosphere with warm attentive staff the food is amassing and a very comfortable place to eat and drink. Richard was very helpful and professional. The Wild Mushroom Rossoto (probably spelt that wrong) was delicious and the Eaton Mess was fun to eat I'm surprised at this secret gem of a place

Lovely welcome as we gathered for our daughter and son-in-laws' joint birthday celebration. The food was superb, with special mention to the beef with watercress. Staff were very attentive. Will definitely be returning.
