Best chip shop in Thornbury by a long way and one of the best anywhere else for that matter. Popularity can mean long queues at busy times, but well worth it.

Just moved to the area. First time here and not dissapointed. Freshly cooked, great quality, we will be back!

Outstanding fish and chips by any standard anywhere. Staff were amazing too. Ringing endorsement by customers who form a queue outside the front door half an hour before the shop opens. Cod was huge, thick, juicy, batter was perfect, chips also. Will be back - probably too often.

Staying nearby on holiday, so we googled Best fish n chips shops nearby. After reading other good reviews my Girlfriend and I decided on Parky's. We were not disappointed . A queue at the door was a good sign and we were met with friendly staff ,we ordered regular Cod and chips each. Portion sizes were good and cooked perfect . Really nice and hot too, even after driving 15mins back to where we were staying. Chips slightly crisp with little grease. Prices reasonable too. If your looking for good fish and chips. Look no further than Parky's.

Great service and great food! Staff are friendly and act like they actually want your custom which is unusual for the trade and no doubt why they have a rating of 4.7 stars! Food is consistently good, recommend the battered sausages, chips and curry sauce!

Easily the best chippy in Thornbury and the surrounding areas. Cod, chips and curry sauce a delight. Visit about once a month and never been disappointed.

My favourite part of the visit to Parky’s has become the young woman in charge. She is always friendly and smiling and engaging all the while running the shop with clinical efficiency. The place is spotless, the service is fast, the price is right. (To be fair, I have no idea what it costs as I’m hypnotised watching the boss) This is business at its best. They have earned the steady stream of customers and it is a pleasure to visit. The food is fresh and delicious but it is secondary to my enjoyment of watching proceedings when visiting Parky’s.

Now - i've promised the owner Stel since I ate here, that I would give him a true and honest review after I tried his food and let me tell you it did not disappoint! I was on the motorway heading to the midlands and did a search for somewhere to eat, so I called ahead of time to place my order. I waited a couple of minutes for everything to come out fresh. I had 4 large fish and chips, they were all packaged in boxes with no paper sticking to the food. It was a delight eat. The cod flakes were as white as snow, the batter light and crispy. In all honesty the flakes just fell away from the batter, the chips were crispy and fluffy and don't even get me started on the curry sauce (a must). It's a real unique taste, the portion sizes were perfect. It was more than enough to leave you feeling full but not stuffed. This shop is a true credit to the family who own and run it and I'll definitely be back again. The people of Thornbury have a true gem in their village, lucky them and well done to Parky's Chippy 👍🏻💪🏻👏🏻

Ordered the kids meals to feed hungry paintballing gang - the food was fab with generous portions. Also had some chips and curry sauce for the adults and they were delicious too. Yummy we will be back.

Tasty well priced food and great, friendly service. All freshly cooked, nice batter that's not too greasy, nice chips too. I made a mistake with my order, which they were very understanding about and changed at no extra cost. Allow time for queuing as they're understandably busy. Please use the car park round the corner and don't park on the double yellow lines; they're there for people's safety.

Best chippy ever! Used them for years and their food is always consistently very good. Service is always friendly and efficient. Good value for money, especially compared to the other chippy in the High st which is overpriced (and poor food and service too). Their food is very tasty and always freshly cooked. Highly recommend.

Fantastic fish and chips. As they were closed for Christmas, I went to Deep Blue but the chips were no where near as good. Looking forward to Parky's reopening on 4 Jan.

Always use Parky's by preference. Consistently great food. Owners are cheery, polite, and up for a chat. Very busy last night with queuing down the street. Social distancing was good. Well done for doing this in an old building not designed for distancing!! Best fish and chips in Thornbury!

Always a friendly atmosphere. Newspapers to read if you have to wait. A good selection of canned drinks to take away with your meal. Situated inside, what used to be a Victorian Registrars Office, on Thornbury High Street, adjacent to Castle Court. Having purchased Fish and Chips regularly I can assure perspective customers, you will enjoy generous portions which are always properly cooked delicious meals supplied in snack boxes.

Very reasonable prices here at Parkys. Chip portions really generous & fish tasty. Only criticism is that we live just around the corner, & the chips were not as hot as they should be when we reached home, but they were nice & crispy.....other than that, staff friendly & shop clean👍

Really good fish and chips and good prices for what you get.

Best fish and chips in the area. Large portions are worth sharing. Generally good value for money. Parking close by is easy. Occasionally there will be a short wait for fried fish. Portions are wrapped well if you’re driving home with them. Otherwise, there are plenty of seats on the main road where you can eat without being hassled by gulls. Thornbury is a nice and friendly place to walk off the meal.

Wonderful chip shop, they make the most perfectly cooked chips, which are fluffy on the inside, and crispy on the outside. They also sell a range of other foods (cod bites, battered sausage, burgers, curry sauce etc) and a fridge with drinks to go with them, good price too.

Excellent chippy, much better than the one at the top of the street which always looks nearly empty when Parkys are qued on to the pavement.

When this chippy first opened it was great quality. The past couple of visits the fish has been quite flat instead of the thick, chunky fish they used to serve. The waiting time can be ridiculous as well. At peak times you would think they would precook quantities of fish and chips.
