Called for lunch and had the most delicious food. Extremely friendly, welcoming staff. Beautifully presented hotel.

Lovely beach hut cafe with outdoor seating in a terrific location. Lovely large mug of tea in ceramic cup-,,-no flimsy paper cups and a limited choice of brownies or flapjack -both delicious. It's just off the coastal path and is well signposted

What a little gem. Home cooked food, the very friendly couple / owners looked after us beautifully. The food was beautifully cooked, full of flavour and well presented. Great value. Loved it.

We were recommended to come here, it’s small limited seating- we’re lucky to get a seat by the window. Good quality, freshly cooked, no nonsense breakfast. What’s not to like.

We had initially planned to lunch at Lulworth Cove, but the crowds and hefty parking charges put us off. Very glad about the change of plans. Had a nice lunch and sat for a while enjoying the lovely views and the smaller crowds. Mobility issues stopped us from venturing down to the beach, but it looked lovely. If you are looking for a more peaceful setting, this should be on your list.

Not a good experience today. After quite a wait we placed our order for drinks and food with the waitress. There were four of us dining and just two meals were eventually served to us, although I had ordered a meat quiche, I was served a vegetable quiche and when I queried this with the waitress was told that she would check. It transpired that the two meals weren’t for our table after all although one of my friends had already started eating the roast chicken as this was what he had ordered. After much waiting the other two meals arrived together with the meat quiche. However, the gravy was missing which should have come with the roast chicken. Mayonnaise and tap water were also requested which we had to chase up twice. The meat quiche was over cooked, the chicken in the Caesar salad and roast chicken were tough, the smoked haddock fish cakes were tasteless and the poached egg with the fish cakes was under cooked. All in all a very poor dining experience both food and service wise. The staff clearly could not cope and/or need more training. It’s such a shame the Barn cafe has gone so down hill as the food used to be exceptional and the service excellent. We were offered complimentary coffees which really weren’t adequate for such poor service. A discount off the bill should have at least been given instead.

Cost and charming pub with a lovely friendly & welcoming atmosphere. We had a three course Sunday lunch which was not just excellent value, but was of a very high quality. Would highly recommend and will be returning soon!

Amazing food and nice atmosphere We dine there completely randomly after visiting durdle door on the way back home and we weren't disappointed. Place looked busy which in my opinion is always a good sign, but our food was served promptly and was very delicious. Beautiful roast dinner for me and my partner and very tasty kids mels fo my monsters. All of us left with full tummy and happy. Highly recommended.

We stayed in Swanage for three nights and visited the Black Swan on the first night there. It was so good we revisited on the final night of our stay. It is a popular venue so it is best to book ahead. Food selection, quality and presentation is excellent - delicious and beyond that you usually find in pubs! The staff were also very helpful and friendly.

Great food, great people, great...potatoes! (still thinking about them 48 hrs on) It might be wrong to plan a return trip to Wareham solely around more carbohydrates from this place (the Miso cabbage and pork belly were also 🤌🤌🤌) but here we are.

Terrible Customer Service and other issues. Recently, I went to the 29029 for a meal out with my girlfriend. Having been to this restaurant numerous times before, I was expecting both excellent food and customer service. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case. Upon our arrival, we sat down, ordered our drinks and then proceeded to select our starters and main courses. For my main course I ordered the Welsh Lamb Shank and my girlfriend ordered a vegetarian curry. When placing my order I stated to the waiter that I would like the “Welsh Lamb”. The waiter noted our orders WITHOUT double checking with us what exactly he had noted down which wasn’t great. Upon the arrival of our main courses, my order was wrong. Instead of the lamb shank I thought I ordered I was instead handed a completely different dish which contained some VERY SMALL lamb chops, potatoes and a coriander sauce. To say that I was disappointed would be an understatement. Realising there had been some miscommunication/they had got my order wrong I decided not to complain as I didn’t want to wait for the kitchen to prepare another meal whilst my girlfriend had her order on the table. So we proceeded to have our main courses. After finishing our main courses, we ordered some desserts. Our dessert’s were nice, however, the portion sizes were absurdly small, which fuelled more feelings of disappointment. Finally after finishing our desserts, it was time to pay the bill. After informing a member of staff that we would like to pay our bill we were left waiting at our table for 10/15 mins without a single member of staff coming over to us with our bill during that period of time. We tried to catch the eye of multiple members of staff to signal that we hadn’t had our bill brought over yet, but nobody acknowledged this at all. At one stage I even put my wallet out on the table to signal that we would like to pay and still no one came over. After waiting for a while longer we informed a member of staff again that we still hadn’t received our bill. After informing the staff member, a young waiter came over to the table with our bill. Before arriving to our table, he thew a scrunched up tissue on the floor and didn’t even bother to pick it up. Completely unprofessional. Upon leaving the restaurant, I felt deeply disappointed with the severe lack of customer service which we unfortunately encountered. It’s safe to say that I certainly will not be coming back here any time soon.

Fantastic staff; friendly and so helpful. Freshly cooked food to a very high standard- generous portions and tasted delicious!

We recently visited this pub restaurant and were shocked at how expensive it was for what we got. The food was decent, but certainly not worth the high prices. What really frustrated us was the unexpected charges that appeared on our bill—things we hadn’t ordered or weren’t clearly mentioned. If you do eat here, make sure to carefully check your receipt before paying. It felt like they were hoping we wouldn’t notice. Overall, not a great experience, and we won’t be rushing back.
