Excellent place to meet family or friends for a good drink or reasonable priced meal.

The food was excellent And a great team of staff

The staff were so helpful and friendly made the visit so mice we went back the next day for Sunday roast.

We visited because we had a Sizzling Pubs voucher and thought the deal might be OK. Having tried another Sizzling Pub in the area before, we thought the food was good, although the atmosphere there wasn't great. The Claypipe had a bit better atmosphere, but was still very noisy, with the bar nearby and people having too much to drink. Food ordering was OK and food arrived in good time. My wife's gammon steak was to her liking, but I felt my Sizz;ling dish lacked taste and was only available served with Rice or Chips. I'm sure I had Fajitas at the other pub. All told, it was sort of OK, but nothing I would write home about. I doubt we'll be back.

The Clay Pipe is always good food & great value for money with a friendly team.

Pretty standard sizzling pub but unfortunately we had to send the stake back and it took over 30mins to get are desserts

We often visit the clay pipe & booking a table on line is quick & easy to do . Met with a friendly smile from the bar man & out table was ready , he helped us use our offers on our app & the food was excellent as always . The only thing that I would like to see is that Dogs are not permitted in the bar but can be in the Garden area only & on leads at all times as when we visited there was two big dogs that intimidated us & made us nervous as we had a 2 year old & a baby with us , you don't know what temperament they have especially in the hot weather.

Great food, great service, and very reasonably priced.

The food as always was very good. The down side was shortage of staff on the bar and restaurant which meant a big queue to order food and drinks but they all worked extremely hard considering.

Very busy tonight so glad we had booked. Bit of a wait for food, but understandable with the amount of customers. Food came out hot and was cooked well. Staff friendly and efficient, and all done with a smile. A lovely evening, thank you.

Had to set our own table even after booking a month in advance, there were 13 in the party we rang up and asked if we could add just one more person, bear in mind there were plenty tables where we were seated and they refused.

Lovely little pub, welcoming staff team, good value for money, Sunday carvery was excellent & they even had kids cutlery for little ones.

Ordered surf n turf. Plates were red hot so steak rather than being medium rare was very well done and tough ! Even the onion on plate was nearly burnt. Mum mentioned steak to waitress who said probably because plates hot - chef obviously needs to cook steaks to allow for this or drop temperature of plates, they don't need to be red hot ! My brother had steak and his was perfect. Prices very good.

We went in on the off chance of a table it was busy but they were very welcoming found us a space,food came out quick and hot,the playground was a hit and would be lovely in the summer to sit outside and eat such a lovely place will definitely come back again.

Nice pub restaurant not been in a longtime. 3 stars you may say not good, (3 is my new 5) as we all give 5stars for good food and service, which this was did they go above and beyond, yes they did so let’s make it 4 stars. I’ve given 4 because they were busy and had a lot of reservations all but the skittle alley was full, Nigel said they were busy and the only place they could accommodate us was the skittle alley. Food came out hot and well presented. Only negative because we were stuck out the way the table wasn’t cleared away before desserts. See you again.

You should book a table in advance as it is always busy as it is near 3 caravan parks. Food is good & reasonably priced, I highly recommend.

This is our third visit while staying at Sandford Holiday Park. We have family in Swanage who recommended the pub. The food is always good value and delicious. The service and friendliness of staff is unmatched anywhere we visit in this area. Well done to the owners and staff for such a well managed and friendly pub.

We always visit the Claypipe Inn when staying in Sandford on holiday. Amazing selection of food, warm welcome & exceptional value for money. Thanks to Jane on our visit who was so helpful & kind to our elderly relative.

Great food at reasonable prices, service was good and the staff friendly and helpful. They did mess up our order one meal should have been a beef burger and they gave us a chicken burger but the wife didn't want to return it.

Whilst on holiday at Sandford park we went to the clay pipe, we were made very welcome, the place gave a nice friendly atmosphere. Most importantly for this review is that my niece has a severe peanut allergy, they went about and beyond to make sure that even her curtley and food was all sterilised and came out separate , this was so important as this allergy has left my niece who is 13 not wanting to eat out at all. She felt safe and confident by their attention to her and her needs. Well done team, and to Chole who was taking our order. 🤗

Had dinner here as a good place to meet friends with kids (there is an outdoor play area for them). Arrived for early dinner, service and food was good, reasonably priced as it's attracted to a holiday park.

We had a carvery, one of the best we've ever had. Staff are always so nice too, make you feel really special. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Gorgeous cauli cheese too!

Great service and food. One big shoutout to The barmate Chloe. Came for the first time yesterday and she asked where we were from which was very friendly. Told us some advice to reserve a table next time so we came back the next day and we were in the corner. Food took around 30mins to 45mins probably going to come back if we do come back to Dorset.

We went here to get dinner most evenings about 4 to 5pm and was turned away every evening because all the tables said reserved even though nobody was sat at them at least 20 tables so not very good management of their food and don't serve food outside either

The Sunday carvery it’s a must. Rib of beef cooked to perfection on an incredible bargain price. The cauliflower and cheese it’s beautiful. Happy Staff. Always smiling and making you feel welcome.

I can’t express to everyone how amazing this place is , we as a family of 5 was so looked after by the staff , the older gentleman at the bar is just the most amazing person, the two younger girls also couldn’t do more to help , looking at this from the outside point it’s almost a if they want to make the customers happy “ which they do with pure ease “ but on the other hand you can see how well looked after the staff are and how they don’t like to over run them , which is so beautiful to see , we booked twice over two days we loved it that much , until next time !! Thank you once again xx

Staying at South Lytchett Caravan park, caught a taxi over for the sizzling menu. Brilliant atmosphere with holiday makers and locals, long ques but seen to quickly. Manager Jane wasn’t happy about one of our meals being burnt - chicken pie. Free drink/pudding given without asking. When our food arrived Jane asked how they was, realised the steak wasn’t cooked to how it was ordered - refunded without hesitation. We already stated when initially asked both meals was fine - Jane is an absolute credit to this pub, does not stop for a moment of her shift. Tenders to everyone regardless of their needs. Credit to the pub and the sizzling company.

Starters. Were passable Skillets , chicken okay but because they were sat on top of the veg which was mainly onion a cherry tomato and stem of broccoli, it was all greasy . Wouldn’t go again

The carvery was the best we've had. We were a party of 6 and visited on a Sunday and the food was full of flavour, the beef was suculent and roasties were perfect. Not dried out from the heat lamp like most carverys we've gone to. All the veg was perfect. The beer garden was spacious and well maintained, adequate parking spaces and the atmosphere is family and dog welcoming. I wish we lived local to visit here every Sunday! (We were staying at Sandford Parkdean resort for the weekend) Only one minor issue which could be good for receptive feedback would be that the attitude of a barmaid that made my mother feel uncomfortable with her unnecessary sarcastic comment to her saying, "Well, I'm not a mind reader am I!?" When my mother asked for a pint of lager and went to look at the taps to see what choices there were, but the barmaid started pulling a pint of Carling within that timeframe before my mother was able to see the options. (The barmaid was frail looking, slim/petite, 30s, black hair tied up. 24/03/24, 15:20) my mother has additional needs. I highly recommend this place.

Ordered cheeseburger, when it was served, eventually, it was SO overcooked it was indelible. Waited a long time for a replacement which was not much better. Walked out and left it !!

Went for a late dinner at the Claypipe last night. Staff were very attentive. Food was amazing as usual.

The Clay Pipe inn was buzzing the welcome from all staff was wonderful. We reserved a table because we didn’t want to lose the opportunity to have a wonderful Sunday carvery. We ordered our food at the bar and got straight to it and selected our food. If you nearby get booked and enjoy a wonderful Sunday roast without the washing up. 😋 🍽️🍻

Great service, friendly staff. Good value for money

Went for Sunday carvery. Food was super and nicely cooked. However, sadly spoiled by the cut of beef given on my plate. It must've been an old cow. It was small off cuts at the end of the piece and very chewy. We had no follow up after sitting down to ask if we were satisfied either.

Can't comment as we went for food but hadn't prebooked.There was a sign outside saying food bookings full.

1st visit to the Clay pipe , the menu was typical pub food but overall good , service OK I got the impression that there were not enough staff on shift especially at the bar but those that were , were friendly.

First time we came here it had been raining all week and it smelt like wet dog and damp inside. Tried to book online but said no need to book. Came again recently, several empty tables but with reserved signs on, several tables with people with food then around 1/3 people sat with drinks. Wouldn’t even give us a table despite several being empty. Told to book online… which you can’t do. Get the idea locals moaning about not getting tables due to everyone off holiday park coming in. Terrible service of what we did have. Won’t be back.

Staff were very friendly & helpful. Excellent food nicely presented. Steaks were tender & cooked perfectly. Able to eat in peace despite the business of the restaurant. A thoroughly enjoyable evening. Would recommend booking as it gets very busy.
