Stayed at Park dean resort was recommended the clay pipe I can honestly say the menu had lots of choices at a very reasonable price. The food was hot. The staff were very friendly. No comparison to the boathouse and only 2 minutes walk from the park. So from my family and me one big thankyou

Just had drinks but the bar is nice. Quite large. Food on the menu looks very good value but didn't try on this occasion.

We often visit the clay pipe & booking a table on line is quick & easy to do . Met with a friendly smile from the bar man & out table was ready , he helped us use our offers on our app & the food was excellent as always . The only thing that I would like to see is that Dogs are not permitted in the bar but can be in the Garden area only & on leads at all times as when we visited there was two big dogs that intimidated us & made us nervous as we had a 2 year old & a baby with us , you don't know what temperament they have especially in the hot weather.

Cheapest pint of Doombar I have come across. Even when it’s busy on Sunday lunch time the staff are always cheerful and friendly 2 Years later than my first review! I now seem to go regularly (every 6 months) to meet a friend on a Sunday lunchtime. Prices are still excellent, all the staff are still so helpful & friendly, even when they are a bit pushed and there is a bit of a queue at the bar, they are always smiling! I class it as one of the friendliest pubs that I go to (and I go to a few).

Good food, exceptional service & reasonable prices. 2nd visit here, will come back (probably tomorrow - it's that good).

We've been going back on and off for years and have always been treated with open arms by the team and have always enjoyed a great meal.

We visited about 2.30 and it didn’t look too busy but noticed every empty table had a reserved sign on it. When we asked if we could have a table for 2 we were told we could have table 14 which also had a reserved sign on. Confused.com. Good job we asked other wise we would have gone somewhere else. Anyhow we ordered our food and drinks. The food came out fairly quickly. It was hot and really tasty. Compliments to the kitchen team. We will definitely come again.

Went there today to celebrate my grandmas birthday and the food and service was second to none nothing was to much they made her day and we will definitely be returning

I have been out for some lunch twice in three days, lucky me, and l so wish l could be blunter and more open, but l had a dreadful experience in one place, followed by a perfect one here. About 15% followed by 100%. Always a friendly, warm welcome, a good, straightforward menu, well kept beers and lagers, prompt service, and, when you get your bill, very good value. Highly recommend you come to the Claypipe! Thank you Nigel and team!

We pre booked and needed to increase our party size. I rang and Nigel was very helpful and was able to accommodate all of us. The Carvery and vegetarian option was hot, and fresh and served with a smile. The hunters chicken was also a hit. Dessert was delicious and a good portion size and along with a variety of drinks all was a very reasonable price. Happy to say all 9 of us are planning a visit again very soon. Thank you to the wonderful staff.

Really helpful with my sons dairy allergy, and didnt mind we were using vouchers for the meal. My daughter enjoyed the build your own sundae, and although my son did like his ice lolly it would have been nice for him to have a dairy free sundae. The young lad behind the bar was very friendly, patient and was the reason we tipped, nothing was too much trouble. Kitchen could have cooked the steaks abit better, asked for medium rare for both, one was medium/well done and the other blue/rare, the blue/rare was quickly rectified though and my husband enjoyed them afterwards. We will still be coming again in the future.

We had a skittles party and were in the side room. This was great but there wasn't enough staff for the busyness of the pub. We had to join long queues for a drink in the main very busy pub instead of using the bar hatch in the games room which interrupted the play of the games. The food was good value for money and the staff were friendly and helpful. They also had a little outdoor play park for young children. Definitely recommend this establishment for family gatherings.

We waited a little while before being acknowledged, it did seem that there might have been a staff member missing compared to other visits, or just busier than usual with walk-in's (we'd booked). We'd checked the menu online, and although I apreciate that the Xmas meal was a 3 course set meal/deal it would have been nice to mix and match with the non-festive menu. We waited an acceptable time for the food we ordered, but it was hot, tasty and well cooked (perhaps the burger on our Boss Burger was a little dry, but perfectly edible) We'll return on the New Year, thank you.

Ordered takeaway online. Fish and chips to pick up waited about 5 minutes. Lovely warm atmosphere friendly staff.

We are a group of old school friends, who are in their 70s. We meet up every couple of months. The Clay pipe, is one of our favourites. We had a booking for 25th November, food, service & atmosphere was brilliant. Thankyou to all the staff.

A lovely run pub visited for dinner while on holiday to the area will definitely return when next in the area. The meals were brilliant value and had an excellent customer service and great pub atmosphere.

The staff were so helpful and friendly made the visit so mice we went back the next day for Sunday roast.

We visited because we had a Sizzling Pubs voucher and thought the deal might be OK. Having tried another Sizzling Pub in the area before, we thought the food was good, although the atmosphere there wasn't great. The Claypipe had a bit better atmosphere, but was still very noisy, with the bar nearby and people having too much to drink. Food ordering was OK and food arrived in good time. My wife's gammon steak was to her liking, but I felt my Sizz;ling dish lacked taste and was only available served with Rice or Chips. I'm sure I had Fajitas at the other pub. All told, it was sort of OK, but nothing I would write home about. I doubt we'll be back.

Pretty standard sizzling pub but unfortunately we had to send the stake back and it took over 30mins to get are desserts

The food as always was very good. The down side was shortage of staff on the bar and restaurant which meant a big queue to order food and drinks but they all worked extremely hard considering.

Very busy tonight so glad we had booked. Bit of a wait for food, but understandable with the amount of customers. Food came out hot and was cooked well. Staff friendly and efficient, and all done with a smile. A lovely evening, thank you.

Had to set our own table even after booking a month in advance, there were 13 in the party we rang up and asked if we could add just one more person, bear in mind there were plenty tables where we were seated and they refused.

Ordered surf n turf. Plates were red hot so steak rather than being medium rare was very well done and tough ! Even the onion on plate was nearly burnt. Mum mentioned steak to waitress who said probably because plates hot - chef obviously needs to cook steaks to allow for this or drop temperature of plates, they don't need to be red hot ! My brother had steak and his was perfect. Prices very good.

We went in on the off chance of a table it was busy but they were very welcoming found us a space,food came out quick and hot,the playground was a hit and would be lovely in the summer to sit outside and eat such a lovely place will definitely come back again.

You should book a table in advance as it is always busy as it is near 3 caravan parks. Food is good & reasonably priced, I highly recommend.

Nice pub restaurant not been in a longtime. 3 stars you may say not good, (3 is my new 5) as we all give 5stars for good food and service, which this was did they go above and beyond, yes they did so let’s make it 4 stars. I’ve given 4 because they were busy and had a lot of reservations all but the skittle alley was full, Nigel said they were busy and the only place they could accommodate us was the skittle alley. Food came out hot and well presented. Only negative because we were stuck out the way the table wasn’t cleared away before desserts. See you again.

This is our third visit while staying at Sandford Holiday Park. We have family in Swanage who recommended the pub. The food is always good value and delicious. The service and friendliness of staff is unmatched anywhere we visit in this area. Well done to the owners and staff for such a well managed and friendly pub.

We always visit the Claypipe Inn when staying in Sandford on holiday. Amazing selection of food, warm welcome & exceptional value for money. Thanks to Jane on our visit who was so helpful & kind to our elderly relative.

Great food at reasonable prices, service was good and the staff friendly and helpful. They did mess up our order one meal should have been a beef burger and they gave us a chicken burger but the wife didn't want to return it.

Whilst on holiday at Sandford park we went to the clay pipe, we were made very welcome, the place gave a nice friendly atmosphere. Most importantly for this review is that my niece has a severe peanut allergy, they went about and beyond to make sure that even her curtley and food was all sterilised and came out separate , this was so important as this allergy has left my niece who is 13 not wanting to eat out at all. She felt safe and confident by their attention to her and her needs. Well done team, and to Chole who was taking our order. 🤗

Had dinner here as a good place to meet friends with kids (there is an outdoor play area for them). Arrived for early dinner, service and food was good, reasonably priced as it's attracted to a holiday park.
