Never been here before and my initial thoughts were that it may be overpriced and poncey by the things that I’ve heard. How wrong I was! There is a very sort of upper class vibe here with the piano music and the waiters etc but in a very non poncey good way! The staff were lovely and all really approachable and friendly which was lovely, food was insane, really really nice and tasted like it was cooked to a high fresh standard and the value of our meal was extremely good. It was about £130 for four of us for a 3 course dinner each and alcoholic drinks so I consider that very good value. Would highly recommend the prawn in filo pastry as a starter! Really nice vibes too, the place was nicely busy and has a buzz about it, really well prepared tables, nice views and just an all round lovely place to be. I would definitely recommend and will 100% go back again. Thank you for a lovely afternoon

We have visited many times, but in the last year we have also frequented another nearby coffee shop too , which has unfortunately recently closed. We returned here for coffees which have always been good, only to be told we would have to have cardboard cups as that was their new policy! Apparently it was advertised on Facebook that from 3pm drinks would only be served in takeaway cups and as we were visiting at just after 2.50 this would still apply to us!! I’m pretty sure..if they’d made our coffees immediately we could have been drinking them by 3pm! But…they were quite happy to see us walk away.

Best pizzas in Plymouth hands down every time, simple as that!! Not stingy with toppings like a certain chain at chaddlewood that serve slop chucked together without a care in the world as just in it for a pay cheque and clearly don’t have taste buds or eat the cack they bang out, Barry is a pizza legend, knows what I like and always cooked to perfection every time.

This is the best chippy in Plymouh by a mile. Located right on Plympton Ridgeway with easy parking. The portion sizes are very good, and everything is cooked to order. OAP/ KIDS meals come with a free can of pop. Everyone seems to order these even for a standard adult because the portion size is good. The staff are always friendly, but they always seem to have a very young school-age teenager taking orders. That's fine, but they are always glum and miserable, and they don't listen properly, and you constantly have to repeat even the smallest of orders. I regularly get 2 OAP meals, chicken chunks, and battered sausage both with chips, naturally. You still have to repeat yourself as they don't listen. Cheap labour, I suspect. The one thing it does lack is a seated in restaurant. Everyone I speak to says it would be well used given its location and footfall. The premises next door is empty and they should take that opportunity to expand their extremely popular business.

This place has now, rather usurpingly, closed. Its advertised online now. The previous owners did an amazing roast however it got taken over by people who ruined the roast by trying to cut corners. No mention anywhere of the visit by The Beatles here in the early 60s either. A missed opportunity

Came along to this zone for mower repairs and saw that Funky Mamas has been rebranded as or replaced by Snack Shack. It’s been refitted and is busy and friendly. A good selection of good value snack food. Parking on street and roughly along side. Useful.
