This is a stunning location in Plympton. I have held 2 of my Ladies Lunch Plymouth events here, and they catered for over 30 women in their gorgeous private room without a hitch. I've also dined numerous times in their restaurant. The fixed menu is top value for money and the food is mouthwatering. It's definitely one to check out.

Mothers day evening meal, Where should I start! we were given warm rolls, and butter, already on the table, the butter was tasteless & bland. We ordered chicken & bacon terrine with crostini, big slab of terrine, the lettuce had been scorched, which made it limp and chewy, no crostini, my son went to ask for it and we were given a small ramekin between 3 of us! So my so went up again and asked for more, as there wasn't enough for the size of terrine we ordered,he was told it should only be 2 pieces between us & and they where tiny! But nowhere near enough for the slab we where given! Scallops where under cooked and watery .On to the mains, lamb was chewy & fatty, gravy was watery, serlion beef was raw & stringy had to send it back , duck stirfry was meant to be 5 spice, which is OK if you want to eat the skin! But the noodles where bland without any sauce, & the duck was thick slices, not thin small slices and some areas were raw too, none of the food was seasoned, pretty bland and boring, very disappointing. Only thing good where the puddings, in flavour and presentation, baileys creme brulee was not properly set and was liquid baileys underneath, the crust was good though, cheesecake was good but very rich was made better by the tart side fruit and raspberry sorbet.when I've been before the food has always been top notch, defantly not worthy of £40 per head, presentation & service where good, but had a different server each time, there where floweeon the table, but only one bouquet on the table & 2 mum, which they never checked either, overall disappointed by the food and constant change in servers

I attended a ladies lunch here and had never been before. Lovely building inside and out, beautiful private room . The bar and lounge area was comfortable and the grounds green grass and ancient trees. It will be nice if the viewing platform to the pond is renewed. Oh the food was wonderful.

I booked in for two rooms and the restaurant for my daughter's 35th birthday, it was the most perfect stay . The Junior room ( my daughters ) was gorgeous and staff had left a 'Happy birthday' truffles and chocolate strawberry plate to welcome her , the evening meal was cooked to perfection and all staff were friendly and made sure we had a lovely stay 🤩

Usually our favourite treat for our girls group. Today was awful .. food was undercooked, veg was overbooked and mush, can’t call the spuds roasties as they were boiled with a slight cooked exterior. Gravy ? What gravy .. no flavour even after I added salt and pepper. I didn’t bother to have sweet but the ladies had what was meant to be sticky toffee pudding, nothing sticky about it more dry hard kind of sponge that was awful again. When telling the lady we weren’t at all impressed she didn’t seem to care.. Upset as I feel for the not so cheap price I’d rather go elsewhere

Fine dining and great service. The food is excellent and the staff very attentive. You need to book well in advance to get a reservation (months). One item we wanted was not available, but the menu has a wide choice, so we were not disappointed. I sneaked a photo of my Dessert.... Bread & Butter pudding... just 😋😋

Having made 2 visits recently, first time to dine, the food was lovely however the service was poor. We were kept waiting for our table, no butter served with the rolls. The sweet menu never arrived and so we paid and left. The second visit was for afternoon tea. Yet again service was poor, kept waiting. The sandwiches were lovely as were the cakes. The scones were crispy, I have never experienced this before and it made them almost impossible to prepare. I do not think a third visit is likely.

Very high class place, good ambience, staff are attentive, most dishes were cooked perfect, a few meat if the meat cuts were tough, in my opinion Lamb should fall away from the bone. Prices are very reasonable.

Third time in two weeks but disappointed this time! I ordered the duck but ended up with chicken plus the starters were a bit mixed up but that part was sorted. The vegetables were hard this time. Sorry to say won't be back next Christmas.
