The pizza dough is soggy and soft, pizzas need cooking for longer. Fantastic service and lovely atmosphere but let down by the pizza. I've been to Italy several times and never had such a soggy and soft base, but as you said it's your take on it. Thanks for the tip about pizza express.

Excellent pizzas served up in a historical building just off the main drag in Plymouth’s centre. Pizzas were very enjoyable although I prefer a slightly crispier base. Plenty of toppings without being swamped, lovely flavours. But the crispy potatoes, oh my! THE best. We’ll be back.

Beautiful building, slow service, especially when there were only two tables, pizza not fully cooked, 12% service charge added directly to the bill, not pleasant compared to the inattentive service, especially when the 10 year old ordered coffee with the dessert, I think it should be warned, will not go there again.

We had a family birthday celebration, 9 of us in total. Firstly did not receive a email confirmation of booking so tried to call. I called 3 times with no answer, so had to leave a WhatsApp message to confirm booking. We brought some candles and a birthday cake and had asked if they could bring it out after our meal as a surprise. They turned and said sorry we don't do this due to food allergies, and walked off. Pizza's arrived and my pizza was very soggy and doughy in the middle, however the roast potatoes starter was amazing. We then asked for the bill and was told they don't except cash, card only, I was not made aware of this until I asked for the bill. This is disgraceful and customers should be made aware of this when placing an order. Service very poor, food poor but venue is amazing, but we will not return.

Its hard to quite encapsulate the dichotomy of eating in and taking away with Knead Pizza. I will try my best though. When you're there, eating in the gorgeous building, or in the open-air courtyard, with a beautifully illustrated wine menu, looking at your lover across some low light, life feels so good. The pizza comes out looking and tasting incredible. Not a single fault with it. The underpaid staff ask “how is everything for you” just as you've scoffed a whole olive with a stone you're trying to pick clean, and you're a glass of wine down and forget about said stone “mmph vuh ghhd fankh phew”. Life is good when you eat at Knead. Delivery, however… Its the same pizza, tastes just as good. No complaints there. If you get the correct pizza that's the hard bit done as its a 50/50 chance of a key ingredient missing, or its straight up a different pizza. I'm veggie as well, so this can cause quite a problem when my fake meat bits are actually real. And as for the dispersal of the ingredients on the pizza? Do you remember Club Penguin’s Pizza Parlour game, Pizzatron 3000? Well I am utterly convinced this is the layout of the kitchen now. A conveyor belt of delicious sourdough pizza bases are going past the chefs as they hurriedly, as fast as their minimum wage paid hands can take them, throw the delicious toppings onto the order. And by throw I mean throw. If Im lucky enough to get the right pizza, Im half as lucky again to have the toppings on more than just a single side. And I know its not the delivery guys fault either, I can clearly see the pizza was cooked like this too… Anyway. Eat in, is a 10/10. Take away? Its like betting all on red at roulette.

Lovely restaurant with great service. Issue was the food and charging policy. We chose two different gluten free Pizza’s which at Knead is a crushed potato base (which are £2.5 extra each). Sounds lovely however was a big miss in my opinion. They seamed like Aunt Bessie’s roasters slightly crushed into the base with pizza toppings on top. Taste not great and all very dry. To help make them edible we asked for some dip, and was charged extra for mayo and Tom sauce. For a nice Pizza restaurant I’d suggest or expect better. My advice would be to offer a cauliflower base or don’t advertise the potatoes as a pizza base option as it’s really not!

We had decided on trying somewhere new to us for a lunch and we were certainly not disappointed. This was really delicious pizza in a nice cosy setting with lovely service. I had been a bit taken by Franco Manca and their pizza in the last few weeks I will be honest. I think that Knead's pizza probably has a slight edge over theirs in terms of flavour. I had the Nduja Duja Like It and my mate had the Cardy P. We of course had a slice if each others and they were both amazing. We also both has sides, although these came out first and felt more like a starter. I had Calamari and he had the Chicken Milanese. Both were great. My calamari was crispy and perfectly cooked. Not rubbery or oily at all. His chicken he felt could have been leaning slightly to the dryer side but came with lovely rich sauce. The drinks I will say are on the pricey side. I guess being a smaller place, they can't afford to do the lunch deals the other place does and this is where they make their money. This is fair enough. One 'gripe' if I had to have one. The bill came and the nice young lady serving us said about the 'Automatic service charge that could be removed if we liked. I have made mention of this happening in another place and my discomfort at it. My friend and I had already discussed this as we had heard another customer mention it. We said we would like it removed please and we would pay her a tip in cash. This feels better and fairer all around to us. Especially as once the waitress had gone and my mate made mention of it, I looked at the bill and the 'automatic' service charge would have been 12.5 %!? Lets face it, there is nothing automatic about it. It has been decided by someone to apply this. As I said, a small gripe and this was a tiny moment that was dealt with very tactfully and well by our waitress. Just seems to be an odd thing that seems to be creeping in to British businesses. All in all, a great lunch. Worth spending the extra to support a local business, especially as it is quality food and service.

Lovely atmosphere in a beautiful building. Ordered 6 standard pizzas and asked about the "gluten free" option pizza, smashed crispy potatoes with normal pizza toppings. We were told, and I quote, " you take your chance"!! All the pizzas had a soggy middle, the potatoes were far from crispy and were gross and as for the gluten free " smashed crispy potatoe base" it was far from that. The potatoes were disgusting, looked like dull frozen supermarket spuds. It was revolting. We did complain and yes we did get a refund on the potatoes and the "gluten free pizza" HOWEVER... A WORD OF WARNING FOR ALL THE CELIACS OUT THERE DO NOT GO NEAR THIS PLACE AS MY SON HAS BEEB ILL FOR THREE DAYS SINCE HE WAS DEFINITELY GLUTENED ON THIS VISIT. GLUTEN FREE " YOU TAKE YOUR CHANCE!!" WAS HOW THE WAITRESS PUT IT DISGRACEFUL

NOT CELIAC FRIENDLY To put it bluntly the menu is misleading they say they can do a potato base gluten free but they CANNOT. DO NOT SAY ITS GLUTEN FREE IF ITS NOT GLUTEN FREE. I am a celiac and took the risk of the cross contamination of the pizza base as I had no other options. When my "pizza" came out it was frozen roast potatoes in a circular dish half the size of a normal pizza. It was honestly a shocking attempt at a "gluten free" which may not be gluten free pizza which is in fact just loaded frozen roast potatoes. This pizza was an absolute insult and I'm genuinely angry at the thought of it. Even the normal gluten pizzas were not good they all had a soggy bottom . Good taste but the dough was soggy. I can here before I was diagnosed about 6 months ago and the pizzas were very good but clearly it has gone downhill

What a very disappointing meal. My daughter booked here for her birthday meal and previously she had eaten here and loved it.however. From the moment the server served us we knew it was not a good start to the evening. One of our guests wanted the raspberry lemonade with a shot of gin in the reply was no we can’t do this? Although they had two cocktails on the menu that in fact had gin in. The mojitos were too sweet and way too minty. We all ordered pizzas, one chicken side and two rosemary, and garlic oil potatoes. We had a gluten free with us do we enquired about that option and he said they cannot guarantee this is suitable for celiacs due to cross contamination in the kitchen?????? However we were there and we in the process of all ordering and he ordered the “smashed roast potato base”. Hmmmmm well how disappointing this was!! It was so tiny looked like a child’s portion and was not smashed roast potato base it was a bowl of potatoes with a pizza topping on which he said was terrible. The rest of the pizzas were all soggy and slimy, no one finished them and were not very flavoursome. The advertised roast potatoes in garlic and rosemary was shocking!!! They looked and tasted like aunt Bessie’s frozen ones and were horrendous. We all left nearly all our pizzas. I complained about the food and they took the potatoes and GF pizza off, still the server made no comment on the amount of food was left. All in all we will not be back and was very upset with the food. My only regret is we did not take photos. !!

We went for a very late lunch, early dinner depending on your view of the time. So we had a pick of the table. I think the venue itself is worth visiting as it's in an old church building. Coming to the Pizzas. We loved it, husband and older child and myself. My son and I had the not so pepperlonely which came with spiced honey. Very interesting combo. But my younger child found the charing too bitter, too much tomato sauce and not enough cheese was her opinion. So this is something to note if you have a child with a fussy palette. She did love the vegan brownie so that helped her not leave on an empty stomach. I would recommend this place for a grown up day out or if your child isn't fussy.

Visiting Plymouth for the first time. Had some work to do early in the morning so end up looking for a late breakfast restaurant. Found Fig & Thyme on maps and looked quite attractive. This place definitely did not disappointed. As myself along with my family walked it, a member of staff welcomed us in. She was so kind and welcoming. We sat down and we were brought the menus as could be seen in the pics. The prices are affordable, not the cheapest but the quality does not come cheap, I guess. I ordered a cappuccino and it came really nice on a shaped wood place with cubs of sugar. We all went for Eggs’s Benedict in their home made round shape croffle with smashed avocado and also asked for smoked bacon and beans as extras. The bacon was probably the best bacon I had in a restaurant, really strong flavor. For dessert we shared a banana bread with ice cream which you would expect to be very sweet but was actually very balanced. Really tasty. I highly recommend this restaurant. It has everything, good food, amazing service and decent atmosphere. We will definitely revisit. Thank you Fig & Thyme for having us.
