I was out on my bike and was in need of some refreshment and this appeared at just the right moment. Clearly popular with walkers and a few cyclists too, so I stopped and was glad I did. Tables outside as well as inside, the cakes looked nice but thick cut bacon sarnie was just too tempting. It lived up to it's billing, it was the nicest bacon I can remember eating in many a year. Coffee even came with a mint! They were also happy to fill up my water bottle which is always welcome. If you're passing it's well worth a visit.

Had a wonderful dinner at Chillies last night. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxed evening. The food was excellent—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I especially loved the lamb bhuna which was a standout. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience, and I can’t wait to return!

Yet another AMAZING brunch/breakfast! This really is the perfect place to go!! Can't imagine where some of the low score feedbacks come from?? Or why? I've been in the hospitality business over 30 years, and what is offered here, is as good as it gets! Great service, great value, and super quality... can not fault it!!! Thank you for the service You provide. And your plants are also super quality, and great value. See you next month... :))

For the first time ever, we went out for Christmas lunch. Well, what a mistake. Two of our party were over 80+. By the time we left our 80+ year olds were falling asleep at the table, having had to ask staff to clear our plates away and bring our dessert. On the plus side, the atmosphere was good and festive. Staff brought us the wrong dishes and wouldn't listen when we tried to explain. There was a difficult party of three, and it was obvious the staff had no idea how to handle them and they held everyone up. It was a shame as some of the staff tried really hard, but the young chap in the T-shirt really didn't care and it was obvious he didn't want to be there. I had some hygiene concerns too about the prepared dishes being passed round the tables with everyone breathing on them before they arrived at the right place. I've been brought up on good quality meat, I don't know where the beef was from, but it was so stringy and fatty that I could not eat it. I've waited a few days to calm down but I really would like a partial refund after such a dreadful experience.

We had the gammon which was excellent and chicken dish (not mentioned on menu but were two legs) with simple mash and red cabbage each £19. A limited menu that was priced on the high side, especially so when a further 10% service charge is added, and without sauces or cream to compliment each dish! Two coffee and tarts, no cream at £8.50 each and four half ciders each £2.40, one of which was incorrectly listed and priced on the bill. The "optional" 10% service charge stated on the menu was in fact obligatory when the bill was requested as no one asked if it was okay. All drinks were purchased from the bar. So £71.06 all up. You get mineral water thrown in but of course a £6.50 service charge would have covered two more half ciders. Good ambience and decor for old and new interiors. Nice music very early evening which was drowned out as more Saturday night diners arrived in the restaurant. Ales are in short supply for what after all is a Thatchers' emporium. Don't expect any frills with food. Ample car parking. The bar staff were rather glum. A total of under £60 would reflect today's pub prices.
