Me and a friend just did a random road trip and came across this little village chippy owner/staff were friendly and welcoming and the food was lovely will go again if in the area

I've been here twice now since moving to the area just this week, both times the food has been very delicious 😋 and the customer service is brilliant too, thank you!

Best chippy about, top bloke who runs it too.

Love the fish and chips husband loves the sausages and grandchildren love the hamburgers and cod bites all round great friendly place to visit.

I was hungry and saw that this establishment was just opening (as i drove past) so on my way back, I stopped and gave them a try. I was not disappointed, my fish was tasty with the delicate kind of batter that I prefere, the chips were loverly and creamy with just the right amount of salt and vinegar which was upgraded with not one but two half lemons to squeeze onto my fish. overall, although I was only in the area the one time, I feel that I can recommend this establishment to anyone who loves good honest food.

Credit where its due - the best burger I have had since leaving Aussie. Chicken burger and salad 10/10 - what a change to be able to buy a top notch take-away. Will be going back regularly, wish I had found it earlier.

There is an extremely large range of food, sides etc available however we ordered Fish & chips. The fish, both large & regular, were really well cooked and tasty. The regular portion of chips was huge and again well cooked. Only the owner was on the premises and he was extremely chatty, friendly and helpful. The food was ordered in advance and a pick up time selected using their Web site. This was simple to achieve as the whole process was straight forward including payment. Home delivery was also available. The food was very good, fresh and well cooked, prepared on time and reasonably priced. We couldn't have asked more of the business.

Usually a pleasant experience until today.. I brought a haddock & chips, took it home & found that the fish tasted gone off.. I got a 2nd & 3rd opinion from my family & we all agreed it was off so I took it back. Murat is usually very friendly however when I mentioned that it tasted gone off, he denied it & got very angry, demanding that it was defrosted this morning & that he knows better because he's been doing it for 20 years. I'm the last person in the world to complain about things but I know when something is gone off.. Instead of saying 'sorry, what can I do to make it better?' he went off to grab another fish still denying that there was anything wrong with the last one but I asked him to just replace the chips as it's put me off fish.. Won't be coming here again. Please learn how to take criticism & hopefully no one else has this experience in the future!

Definitely recommend this chip shop, very friendly staff and massive portions of good quality food.

Would definitely recommend ordering from here! Portion sizes are huge and we got extra sausages! Plenty of salt and vinegar, nothing was stingy in the slightest. Some more veggie options on the menu would also be perfect!

Just popped in on the way past and got a regular portion of chips, the gentleman in there was a great guy, shame the chips wasn't up to the same standard, chips must have been hanging around for a considerable time as most was just chewy and a good 25% were just small crunchy bits, all pretty tasteless, if I was rating the chips on there own it would be half a star as they filled a whole but I didn't enjoy them what so ever.

We went here whilst on holiday having looked at the reviews online, and the fact that it was open later than all of the other chippies in the area. Our food was cooked fresh to order, which I prefer, and I don't mind the extra wait. Unfortunately, whilst the food was cooking, I discovered that the owner was a Gunner! After some discussion (banter), he informed me that if he had known I supported the only GENUINE North London premiership team, he wouldn't have served me 😂. He even offered me a refund and told me not to come back to his shop 🤣🤣🤣. Joking aside, a lovely guy, serving fresh and tasty food and obviously very popular with the locals who came in the shop to buy food whilst I was there 😁. I'LL BE BACK.......

Spot on, chips were lovely. I'd say best around the area. Be warned in the summer months come new season potatoes so the chips are sweeter and should be dark brown due to the sugars. The owner explained this and I havent experienced that for a while which tells me he knows his trade. As per normal for my first visit I only had chips but whilst I was there several happy locals collected cod bites, sausages etc and the batter looked perfect... something for next time. Curry sauce was a little runny but was also delicious. The large portion of chips will easily feed 2. They take card payments, they are closed on Mondays. I wouldn't park outside as Banwell is dodgy with its narrow streets. The chip shop itself was crashed into a while back. There is a carpark within 50yds. The owner is very friendly which makes the whole experience a good one - Boss 😃

Stopped in for some grub on the way back from Weston bike night, proper friendly chap, great food. Was a pleasure. Will make sure we visit again if we are passing thru.

Fish was fab ,chips were a lil greasey and dry but nothing major, def go there again

Traditional fish and chip shop. Good chips, nicely cooked fish, quick service but you can call ahead if you want to pre-order.

Called in this evening and ordered a Lamb kebab and a chicken kebab with chips and halloumi fries all cooked well and very tasty, good sized portions and a fresh salad, would recommend to all. Owner was a very friendly guy A1 experience

After a period of closure the Banwell Chip Shop reopened under new ownership ! Chips excellent and the Fish equally good and cooked to order. Kebabs delicious and always a cheery welcome ! Only downside is the football banter from the at the moment very smug Arsenal fan ! Great value and would definitely recommend!

When I asked my Japanese friend what her favorite food was in the whole of the UK she said that it was the fish and chips from salt and vinegar. I can't think of a better way of putting it.

Very friendly, good value and good size portions. We got just the regular sized portions and they're really generous sizes. Very tasty, nicely cooked 👍👍
