Went for lunch and found new owners - however the new owners continues the Jennies Kitchen tradition of great food with excellent service. The garden seating area continues to be a sun trap, and given the fabulous choice of cake I know this will continue to be a favorite spot to stop on any bike ride.

Always liked this place...kids loved the burgers, Pizzas and they always had a great PROTEIN friendly vegetarian option. Alas, new kitchen management disappointed as compared to previous visits. Some of the food was tasty, some was average (thick , mushy pizza)..No gluten free, Vegetarian option that was protein rich (unlike before). Staff is inexperienced....had to wait 15 min for water to be served (involved getting up and informing the staff that we were waiting for water). Food took 50 minutes to arrive! Whilst the host was apologetic, this is ridiculous. On the same night, someone raved about the service... clearly, hit or miss... would give it another go but a bit hesitant now....

I went shortly after opening. The lady serving was very friendly and smiley - a good start. I ordered the small breakfast. It took ages to arrive. I was the only customer waiting ! There was very little of it. The bacon was smoked and looked like it had been boiled, the sausage was dry and hard, tomato the same. A good egg and the mushrooms were okay. I certainly would not go there again.

Stayed in River Leach 2 which we would describe as adequate, no frills. In fairness, it was just clean enough, but with a little effort, this accommodation could be vastly improved. Small details such as the lack of a side lamp in the living room, the television aerial cable was broken so there was no terrestrial signal, only internet channels worked, the bedside cabinet that has to be turned sideways to fit next to the bed meaning you could not open the drawers, no wardrobe or facility to hang anything in the bedroom, a kitchen area without a fridge, no hairdryer etc. These small, cheap additions would elevate this potentially characterful, accommodation considerably. Parking was easy, location is lovely by the riverside and the village a stone throw away, check in could have been better had the single member of bar staff acknowledged us and not kept us waiting, but was good when we were seen to, the breakfast was excellent but again, there was only one member of staff taking orders, making drinks etc so bar service was slow again. They wont let you keep a running tab going and queuing to request extra tea and coffee etc, put us off adding to our order. Overall, I’ve scored ‘average’ as I think for the price paid (which didn’t include breakfast) we have stayed in better. However, with a little extra thought, our accommodation could easily be ‘very good’ and with an extra member of staff to reducing queuing times, might have even crept into the ‘excellent’ scores.
