Lovely breakfast but the staff were rushed off their feet and clearly in need of more hands given the wait on food. Also items missing on the breakfast.

I went shortly after opening. The lady serving was very friendly and smiley - a good start. I ordered the small breakfast. It took ages to arrive. I was the only customer waiting ! There was very little of it. The bacon was smoked and looked like it had been boiled, the sausage was dry and hard, tomato the same. A good egg and the mushrooms were okay. I certainly would not go there again.

Great garden centre. Go anywhere else for a cafe. Our roast lunch was awful. Dried beef, tired and dry vegetables gloopy gravy with no hint of red wine and mine was worse. Tiny pie, minute vegetables almost dehydrated they were so old, appalling meringue and a long wait for coffee. DO NOT EAT HERE.

Sunday lunch so stingy and mean. Roast beef tough probably weighed 2/3 ounces, potato and a half about the size of a golf ball, about 1/3 of a medium sized carrot, three slivers of parsnip. Couple of spoonfuls each of peas and cabbage, gravy and pot of horseradish. All in all very disappointed and very poor value for money. Won't be having Sunday lunch there again.👎🏼

Nice Hot Chocolate. Pleasant Staff. Breakfast was plentiful and hot. But you order drinks at the till area and wait ages, collect it them order food. Why not order food and drinks at the same time??

Menu items not as described. Very poor quality produce for the price. I ordered a cheese, tomato, salad and chutney baguette, when it arrived it was dry crusty bread with a sparse amount of cheese, tomato and chopped red onion. This is not as described on the menu, surely for the purposes of allergens the items should be served as described. The coffee was luke warm, tables filthy (looks in the lines of the table) staff didn’t seem happy. For the price there are far better garden center cafes. This one is poor quality, dirty and expensive

Having been disappointed previously, we were unsure what to expect. We ordered lunch and drinks at the counter. Quaint system of ordering at the till, after queuing, and then queuing again for the drinks! The food arrived and was very good indeed. The server was pleasant too, and the whole experience was much improved since last time.

Nice place that is on the very pricey side. A slice of cake is about a fiver! We received a voucher so got a cream tea (scone, cream, jam and tea) half price so only £3.50.

Must have been a bad day. 1 member of staff serving. Queueing for 20 minutes only to be told no hot food. Asked for 3 teas and decaf coffee, got 2 teas and 2 coffee’s. No idea which one is decaf.

Went in and ordered a Ham and Cheddar Ploughman. Had to wait a short while for it to arrive, but then found there was no cheddar on the plate. The server never made a comment when they brought it to the table, so I had to go back to the counter to ask, they then went into the kitchen to find out why. Allegedly they had run out of cheddar, no apologies. I pointed out that if I had known that, I would have ordered an alternative meal. They were not interested, and they didn't care that I had paid for something I never received! Sorry, you have lost a customer, and I will never recommend you again

Called in here today hoping to get some lunch. We asked the lady serving coffees if we ordered food with her to which she replied no. Asked at till if we could order food only to be told kitchen was closed until 12.30 to catch up after breakfast rush as happened most saturdays. Why couldn't somebody have told us this sooner or had a notice up stating this fact. Had our coffees and left feeling very dissatisfied with the organisation of the cafe.

This used to be a very popular and well run restaurant. Sadly now it is simply a hit and miss situation. The process for ordering food and drink is haphazard and subject to change from visit to visit. No real thought has gone into the customer experience which is now really poor. Perhaps the managers/owners need to take a good look at this so that they can turn it around. They are wasting an opportunity here.

Went today and ended up with our third choice of food. Firstly there were no scones for the savoury cream tea. Also we queued a longtime for our drinks and went to the till to order our food but apparently we needed to have ordered that with our tea, even though signs told us to order food at the till! Then we asked for baguettes but they had none so we ended up with a sandwich. The woman on the till was not at all apologetic and seemed to think it was all a nuisance. The excuse was they were understaffed!

Restaurant organisation and service is very poor. You queue at the counter, where one employee is making coffee individually for each customer, then when you finally get served, you are told that you have to go to the pay desk to order food. We ordered two soups with scones and were told that there was a 20 minute wait - why it takes that long to ladle out two bowls of soup and put two scones on a plate is a mystery to me. In the event they arrived after 10 minutes. The scones were excellent, but the portions of soup, although very tasty, were very small. A lovely airy, clean restaurant let down by lack of organisation and poor service.

Visited the place for breakfast when using a gift card for the Hilliers Garden Centre, Staff just one notch below surly, a cold unwelcoming atmosphere, poor food (motorway service standard) for £10. Never again.

We visited the cafe at Hillier’s Lechlade just before Christmas and although pleasant to sit in the food was terrible! We had the turkey and cranberry sandwich and you would not think something so simple could be so horrible. The bread was extremely cheap quality and it ran with some sort of cranberry jelly. We have had breakfast here before and that was okay but through this latest experience we will not be eating here again. The actual garden centre is great and we will continue to purchase plants but fortunately, within the are there are plenty of places to enjoy lunch.

I was very impressed with the service I received when I visited earlier this month. The service was very quick and there was a new girl at the till who was incredibly friendly. I saw the garden centre change managements and I have to say I have really seen it bloom in the past few months. Overall I am very pleased and I will definitely be returning in the near future.

Our second visit in the last few months against my better judgement as we were previously disappointed with the food and the service but my son wanted a KFC as a birthday treat so I thought maybe they deserved a second chance. Big mistake, it's still AWFUL. Our order came relatively quickly but items were missing. On asking (the very disinterested) staff member for our missing chips and popcorn chicken we were made to feel that we were lying and they didn't bring the chips over as promised. The food was terrible quality, way too much sauce in the burgers so everything just slid out, the fried chicken pieces were greasy and the coating tasted revolting. The krushem milkshakes just tasted like warm syrup. Portion sizes suitable for The Borrowers maybe. The staff just ignore you for as long as humanly possible when you go to the counter, the whole place just lacks atmosphere and is very grubby. We won't be returning, feel like we completely wasted 50 quid 😡
