Went here on a casual day out. The people who run this are not cut out for customer service. Bad attitude towards everyone and act like you are problem and they are doing you a favor. Why are you even running such a business if you hate people so much? Expensive too. Like a terrible version of fawlty towers.I recommend you walk a bit further down to one of the other places.

Attempted to purchase Ice cream with our two young children. The lady abruptly asked us if we had masks. We didn’t due to lifting of restrictions/being outdoor. She was clearly unhappy about this, and told me to stay back, I had no intention of getting close. When the guy in front moved to the far right of the van to pay, collect his ice cream I edged forwards in the line/made eye contact with the woman. I was met with ‘keep back I’m still serving someone’. I’ve never felt so dirty for purely breathing. I feel the staff are confused, they cannot uphold a business by expecting the world to meet their needs, they are clearly terrified of the general public, therefore should consider not working directly with them.

MORE AT TripAdvisor

Despite government regulations meaning no one needs to wear a mask the (I assume) owner has decided to enforce his own policy. I explained I’m medically exempt and he said he didn’t care. So I’ve been discriminated against due to a protected characteristic. Which is against the law. I begrudgingly sent kids to get their own ice cream as I’d promised them one.

MORE AT TripAdvisor

We went to visit the ice cream stall which is located outdoors on the premises, and before we could even join the queue, the guy in the stall stuck his head out and ordered us to put on masks. We told him politely we were exempt, and he said we had to prove it (which is nonsense, our medical information is not the business of some guy selling ice cream out of a van). We told him we didn't have proof, and he said he wouldn't serve us because we were not wearing masks. He then started getting all sarcastic with us. Not only was it ridiculous because we were outdoors anyway, but I have to imagine it's actually criminal to explicitly refuse service to someone on medical grounds. I'll be looking into what I can do about this because it's completely unacceptable. Would he act this way if it was a person in a wheelchair, or even an old person who couldn't wear a mask? Anyway, I'm glad I realised how horrible the place is before spending my money there. The ice cream place a 2 minute walk away was great and served us with no hassle at all. I only wish I'd made a bigger scene at this place so everyone else in the queue could see how bad the service was before spending their money there. Looking at the rest of these reviews, I wish I'd looked them up before even showing up as it seems to be a recurring theme there.

Visited the ice cream parlour on a busy Sunday afternoon and what an appalling set up it was! There was one poor lady doing everything whilst another guy literally stood and watched her do it! There was a huge queue and she was there taking orders, making tea, coffee, waffles, serving ice cream and trying to take payment while this lazy guy literally stood by watching her struggle and the queue form. I ask him if I could pay him whilst she served and his response was "I suppose so!" On top of that, they DON'T GIVE CHANGE if you pay by cash and its a minimum spend of £5 for card transactions (which I'm pretty sure is illegal now) and they don't give receipts either. This is a dodgy, money scamming outfit. Don't waste your time and money, go anywhere but here.

We visited as two families for cream teas. The owner was very apologetic as he was very busy and was struggling to accommodate as he was working alone. Despite this, he served us with 4 gorgeous cream teas, with freshly made scones and clotted cream. This tearoom was a gem and the owner was friendly and chatty. I don’t know how he copes as despite putting up ‘closed’ signs, people continued to come in and demand food and drinks. He politely served everyone, even after saying he was closed. I think this is a very challenging place to run a business due to the high number of tourists and I don’t envy the owner his job but he did remarkably well for being the only member of staff!
