5 star for the staff, for looking after us on busy Saturday night They were clearly understaffed as are most pubs and restaurants We waited for food little bit for obvious reasons , soon as they realised they offer us delicious focaccia with olive oil We shared porterhouse steak , it was cooked perfectly . We will come back probably not on weekends but weekdays when is not that busy .

Always liked this place...kids loved the burgers, Pizzas and they always had a great PROTEIN friendly vegetarian option. Alas, new kitchen management disappointed as compared to previous visits. Some of the food was tasty, some was average (thick , mushy pizza)..No gluten free, Vegetarian option that was protein rich (unlike before). Staff is inexperienced....had to wait 15 min for water to be served (involved getting up and informing the staff that we were waiting for water). Food took 50 minutes to arrive! Whilst the host was apologetic, this is ridiculous. On the same night, someone raved about the service... clearly, hit or miss... would give it another go but a bit hesitant now....

Disappointing experience. We had visited once before on a Sunday afternoon and had been a bit confused by the menu but had luckily made a few decent choices (by luck rather than intention). We ordered too much not really being able to navigate our way round the menu, however, food was good, and general busy daytime vibe was fun. We chose to return for an evening meal for a birthday. Service was shoddy, a young undertrained workforce. Lovely young people obviously earning the minimum wage but were clueless. Food was mediocre. They serve a decent flat bread or pizza it seems but otherwise not overly impressed. I ordered grilled chicken to accompany my Caesar salad and if I had a total of 1"X1" amount in 3 small pieces I might be exaggerating. It certainly was not freshly grilled chicken either. The poor kids didn't know the difference between a vodka lime and soda from a vodka and lemonade. They offered no water, they took drink and food orders at the same time and delivered starters with mains. The manager running the place seemed to be aware that the staff were not up to it and immediately blamed them "ah, new staff, sorry". Poor! A lovely venue for coffee and cake or a light afternoon snack but not for a relaxing evening out. Oh, and the music is very loud adding to the chaos.

Had a fabulous breakfast over looking the lake. Generous portions, excellent ingredients - highly recommended. Also a beautiful spot to start the morning

A lovely atmosphere providing a friendly and professional service. Amazing views over the lake. Good food and well presented. Our waitress Sofia was brilliant. Will definitely recommend and visit again soon.

This review is based on a family lunch at the restaurant. We were charged for items we ordered, but unfortunately never received and to make matters worse were charged a 10% service charge for the privilege. The restaurant wasn’t particularly busy, yet the service was on the slow side. A lovely setting, but left not knowing if we’d go back again.

Had brunch here yesterday; the food and drinks were incredible. I had the crab muffin which was one of the most delicious dishes I’ve eaten. Mimosa good; coffee excellent. Presentation of everything, including the premises, was excellent. Only constructive criticism would be the service; it was quite varied in friendliness, knowledge and efficiency - some consistency would be good. Ample parking, excellent playground and beautiful walk around the lake. Won’t hesitate to return and recommend (already have done to friends).

A really beautiful location but spoiled by a menu that doesn’t describe correctly what you actually receive. I visited with a friend on her recommendation, always a difficult situation if there’s something wrong with your meal, so I didn’t complain about my food at the time. I ordered the broadbean, pea, courgette, endive and goat curd salad, which in itself was lovely, albeit expensive, my disappointment was with the chicken ‘breast’ I ordered and paid for when in fact it was sliced chicken thigh. This was an additional £6 and really wasn’t very pleasant. If you are going to serve a substandard dish, then at least be honest about it. I hate chicken thigh!

Wow! What a fantastic spot! Gorgeous location looking out over the lake, lovely atmosphere and delicious food. The perfect place for a celebratory hen party dinner with work friends. It was busy being a Friday night but staff were attentive and it had a lovely buzz about it. We will be back!

I really don’t think I would return here, they seem to treat people like they have no choice but to eat here. The manager (I believe) was unfriendly, paid no real attention to her staff or customers. They have adopted that terrible approach of nobody looking after any table or area, they all do a bit each and mess it up as a collective. Menu is odd as people have mentioned, no idea what they are aiming for. Setting is lovely, but so are many other place where they make much more effort (or at least some)

The setting here is really wonderful. Great vibe and decor. Plenty of outdoor seating and a children's playground. The menu was a bit strange. A lot of brunch items but not much choice on mains. However when the food came it was really good. Great quality and well cooked and presented. Its the service that let's this place down. No one came for ages to take any orders and then we were asking 2 and 3 times where our drinks were. I think we will go again, maybe in the week as if its not so busy the service might be better.

Went today for a birthday lunch, I had only seen photos on Facebook and the place looked nice. Upon arrival nobody greeted us at the entrance so we went towards the bar area as staff stood there chatting, met with a friendly unfriendly member of staff who may have been the manager. Shown to a dirty table with place settings missing. Menu in my opinion is a mess, choices are not well described and leave you unsure of you need to order sides or not. Food is actually quite nice when it comes. The management of staff seems poor and they clearly have had little training and are not familiar of the menu. Our food in fits and starts, one member of staff brought one dish then walked off, another brought something else and so on, left having to chase for steak knifes etc. The amount of drinks that came out and went to the wrong tables was ridiculous and it appeared that some orders got left incomplete. A lot of people say at their tables complaining and it seems an ongoing issue as property owners talking about issues with previous meals. Shame as nice setting but management and training Is clearly lacking.

I had previously visited in June 2023, not long after they opened and I was very disappointed as my review at the time indicated. However, this second visit although only for coffee, most definitely merits a top rating. Such a very different experience where the welcome was warm and friendly, nothing was too much trouble, and I can’t wait to go back and have lunch there.

Absolutely amazing sunday roast! This roast was hands down the best roast i have ever tasted. Staff were really friendly and the views over the lakes are an added bonus. Definitely coming back with family and friends and doggy walk around the lake! ❤️

We celebrated a friends birthday with a delicious lunch. The setting is magical, so relaxed but so many nice touches which make it feel very special. The service was excellent and all the staff were friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. Couldn’t recommend more highly.

We came to lakes by yoo for lunch and drinks. The service was great, especially Sophie and Ellen, very attentive and timely. Cocktails were delicious and food was even better. Highly recommend lakes by yoo for a long lunch / dinner :)

Rare lunch out without children, and we were not disappointed. Even with the disappointing weather we could appreciate the beauty of the location. The food did not disappoint either. We shared the toasted Reuben and the grilled chicken sandwich which were mouth-watering along with some of the best fries we have ever had. We will definitely be returning. Thank you

Such a disappointment, been excellent over the last 3/4 visits, unfortunately due to full bookings we were rushed and reminded they needed our table giving us 1.5 hours to order and eat. Normally this would suffice, but they rushed the food cooking and preparation, this reduced the quality, the eggs in the eggs benedict came out tasting like pickled eggs where they had used to much wine vinegar in the preparation, totally spoiled the dish, all because they were rushing the orders.

Disappointing , food was mediocre, service was slow. Cocktails were delicious however and there is a fabulous view of the lake.

It’s a teepee with a view over the bowmoor sailing lake just off the A487. Yes, you’re in a completely unsustainable tent. I was there for a breakfast meeting with friends. They seemed to like their food but I chose vegetarian: it was completely tasteless. Even the coffee was uninspiring.

I would really recommend a visit to the Lakes. A clever seasonal menu, not a huge menu but you don’t need it, it works! A great setting over looking a lake with the emphasis on casual dining. we took our dog who was made most welcome. Hannah looked after us and was a perfect host. have booked to go back and recommended to lots of friends.

Was really lovely staff, great food and beautiful place! The only minor issue was having to ask for our drinks when our food had arrived, but was very minor and didn’t affect our overall experience.

I visited the Lakes Bar & Kitchen for Brunch after finding out about its recent opening. It’s a stunning lakeside venue, our server Sophie was lovely and efficient. I enjoyed Eggs Benedict with an Oat Latte. Great overall experience

What an amazing place. Everyone was welcoming and friendly, the atmosphere was relaxed and cosy with a great contemporary feel. We had mushrooms and poached eggs on toast which was the absolute best as was the coffee.
