The best restaurants in Newlyn and Goonhavern Cornwall, Isles of Scilly South West

Down for a week's holiday and couldn't go home without a chippie. Service was quick and friendly. One of the nicest chippies we've had in a long time, a little more expensive than what we're used to back home but £30ish for a family of four isn't bad either. Highly recommend the Irish curry sauce 👌🏼 I would say we'd be back but we go home tomorrow!

Sunday Roast. The food was fab and good value for money. The scenario of having to get up and order drinks and food at the bar isn’t! Especially when initially you weren’t told. Spoilt a good meal.

What can I say it was a 5 star weekend, the food was amazing the best I've had in a very long time, staff are so friendly and welcoming, rooms were spotless, I'VE GOT TO SAY IT'S A MUST TO VISIT, AND THE FOOD FANTASTIC ALL THE WAY 🥳 LOOKING FORWARD TO BOOKING ARE NEXT TRIP WITH ARE STAFFY 👍👍👍👍👍

Really wanted to like it as local to us but had a terrible meal. Soggy, undercooked pizzas, a young, inexperienced staff with no-one obvious in charge. Servers happy to have a giggle with each other inside when it was full outside yet we had to ask for cutlery & napkins after they brought the pizzas. £50 for 2 pizzas & 2 drinks - no problem if nice but tasted like poor quality ingredients. When asked how it was at when paying we discretely mentioned that food wasn't good. The response: "sorry about that but I don't go in the kitchen". Why ask then? It's in a great spot so will always be busy but no plans to return.

This was a lovely little place to go to in the evening. I will start with the good news and end on the not so good news. So the pizza was absolutely brilliant I had the most amazing pepperoni pizza ever, and my family had the diavolo deluxe and we both loved them. If you want a thick base they are not really for you. Now bad news we tried to get a takeaway pizza the night before and they had ran out of dough so we went to the pub instrad and then we tried the takeaway again tonight and they weren't doing takeaway because they ran out of dough the day before, so we ended up eating inside. Not sure what the difference was between takingvaway and eating in! It was amazing but we just wanted to go home and eat it. But I am still giving it 5 stars (circles, tripadvisor!) because the pizza beats all of the bad stuff and it was an amazing experience.

What a lovely pub. Delicious food! Beautifully presented. Very good menu. A hidden gem would recommend 100% and will definitely visit again.

Very friendly staff, tasty burger chips food, very generous scoop of ice-cream. Great free parking if you dine there.

Came for a drink with a friend and was great, however wasn’t made aware of the parking rules so have been charged £60 for 30 minutes of parking. Called to ask for assistance to be greeted with a fairly dismissive member of staff claiming nothing can be done.

We had the Sunday lunch, it was ok, some vegetables was overcooked, Broccoli was so hard, couldn’t even cut with my knife, The best of it all was, the Roast beef roast potatoes! We asked a friend who lives locally to come and join us, but when we said we were going to the old Albion inn, she refused! We won’t bother to go there again, We love Crantock we come down here twice a year!

Seemed great looking in the advertising but unfortunately did not meet expectations. The views from the balcony are stunning but that’s about all, the staff are not friendly in fact they just mill about pacing back and forth like caged lions. From the moment we walked in we were met with ‘can I help you?’ When we said we’ve come for a drink we were asked ‘do you know what to do?’. You do not purchase from the bar and they do not take cash, you order on an app and a member of staff bring you your drink(s). No more than around seven or eight other people in the bar and six members of staff generally wandering about doing not that much at all. My mate Went to the toilet and found two urinals blocked full of p**s. I went to the toilet around half hour after, urinals still blocked, as I came out of the toilet a member of staff was just milling around so I told him about the blockage. All that staff and a blocked toilet for at least half hour….shocking considering how nice the place looked. Prices a little steep considering you kind of serve yourself.

Flat White Coffee @ £2.70 Fruit Scone £2. better than a lot of places. More staff on than usual but it was a Saturday afternoon. Been here a few times and what people say id usually correct. Better than M&S Plenty of parking
