Rachel O (2 reviews) Went to get a late lunch/snack, couldn’t see any cakes as they had been taken out of cabinet this was at 3.45, choose a toasted sandwich, no salad as had run out. Staff were rude and couldn’t have cared less. We ate those then went back to get a coffee to be told the coffee machine had been turned off, my colleague had a tea, I had a cold drink. We were sat drinking this and lo and behold they then turn the lights off at 4.45 , we were not the only customers in. Absolutely disgraceful !

The first impression was of a light and spacious space, probably because there was only two tables occupied. We struggled to see the menu on the wall behind the counter, we were told of the soup on offer and was directed to the sandwich /drinks shelves which contained sandwiches, paninis, etc. There were no brown, sourdough or seeded sandwiches available and the assistant said they do not make any foods, everything comes in ready made. I chose a cheese scone instead, which was rather dry. I cant quite understand why the menu couldnt be on the wall facing the customer's seating, and why there were 4 servers behind the counter if they dont actually prepare anything? Odd place.

This is where surveys don’t get the true picture, I could only select a specific month that I went To Pausa, but I’m writing this because on a number of occasions over a number of months we have visited Pausa Rustington and most of those visits there has been only one staff member who runs around like a headless chicken doing the best job they can. The only thing they didn’t have was a broom up their backside. In a nutshell you need more staff. The service was very good and friendly from the ONE and only staff member, the food came up quickly, looked good and was presented well. Needless to say something could not get done and that was the tables were not cleared after people had finished and left. Just get more staff and it will be great.

First time visit Saturday and most definitely the last. Chairs disgusting, floors sticky, tables un-wiped. Never ever again. Staff should be ashamed

Just been into the cafe with my daughter . She ordered tomato and basil soup with a roll and I ordered cauliflower cheese soup again with a roll . My daughter was served a full bowl of soup whereas I got less than half a bowl of what in essence was cream slightly cheesy tasting water . Both were served with a cheap and nasty slice from a cheap loaf of bread . When I went to ask for my roll as ordered was told we don't do them. When I asked about the amount of soup was again told thats the amount in the carton . There were exactly 9 spoons of soup in the bowl for £4 . Was not offered refund or exchange. Cheap and nasty learn to cook anyone can make soup !!!

First time visit today and was disgusted by the lady serving on the till who was slagging off other staff members in front of a line of queueing customers. We repeatedly asked for soya milk in our coffees at least 4 times so there would be no mistakes as one of us has a severe dairy intolerance, she then passed it over to another girl who began to poor in dairy milk, if we were not watching we would have drank dairy milk resulting in severe illness. The girl serving didn't even apologize, and just said 'I'm not quite with it today' better training is needed or replaced with a member of staff who actually cares and wants to be there.

I'll start by saying the food is really lovely and most of the staff are friendly, but one. I arrived with my 2 year old and my nan for some lunch. Walked over to a table so one of us could sit with my toddler while the other went up to order but was stopped by a staff member. She said she needed to clean the table so we waited, only for her to turn around and say "you have to all go up, you can't sit down. Other people are infront of you." in quite a rude tone. Anyone with a toddler will understand that they get bored in ques and can go a bit manic. I suffer with chronic pain in my back so wanted to sit down with her instead of hold her. Due to this woman, my toddler did indeed get bored in the que trying to run away, shouting and trying to get to the seats so I had to hold her... All of which could of been avoided. We then ended up at the exact same table anyway! Once sat down I asked the same lady if they had straws as my daughter couldn't manage the new "sippy hole" on the kids drinks. She said "We don't give straws anymore, there's a sippy hole" in the same tone as before to which I replied "please give us a straw". She got it, put it on the table and walked away. Everyone else was lovely but it was ruined by this member of staff and being forced to all go up together making it not very family friendly. It makes me worry as surely you would let an elderly person sit down instead of queuing... Or a mother with a new baby? It also minimises the amount of people in one place during a pandemic!

I haven't had a full on meal there. The environment is not fabulous but it's not unpleasant. The cafe is upstairs and on one side you can see down onto the shop floor which gives the place an airier feel. The coffee was surprisingly good and both times I've been I've opted for the "Bakewell tart", which is actually more of a cake. Where you'd normally have the frangipani layer this is more of a sponge ... and it's very nice indeed. It seemed quite fresh too. Being on the edge of town I imagine less people know about it. I hadn't noticed it was there and I'd been passing it for years! Plenty of parking most of the time which is a boon. Well worth a visit.

Dropped in here mid afternoon to enable the 'boss' to get "something important" and rather than sit in the car (parked conveniently right outside the entrance....yay!), in the rain, I followed her advice and ventured in to the café. "It's upstairs," I was promptly informed. The disappointment must've shown because she quickly followed with..." but there's a lift, right in front of you as you go in, and it brings you straight out at the café entrance." Of course, I realized this was all tactics to provide yet more time for the 'important' shopping expedition. But, no matter, I've wiled away a few hours in department store cafes over the years. How might this one compare? Anyway, it worked and I was on my way to the lift, full of expectation. I wasn't disappointed. Found the toilet first...clean, tidy, and clearly signed. Then to the café...almost empty, but it was now gone four o'clock. Very sensibly (!!!) I settled merely for a pre-packed smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich and a pot of 'breakfast tea..' In all, I think, just over £5 which I didn't think was bad. Sat at a table looking down to the lower sales floor, in the naiive hope I might spot just what was so important to be shopped for....no chance, so skilled is she in the mysterious art of completely disappearing once inside any retail establishment! The tea and the sandwich, remember them, were an absolute delight. Sandwich was delicious, filled to maximum potential, lovely fresh bread and I smiled throughout its consumption. Similarly, the little pot of tea was wonderful, and provided just enough for two perfect cuppas...piping hot and very tasty (I didn't see what brand). The slightly chunky cup and square saucer, the teapot and handle-less milk jug(ette), were just right. Stylish...and...efficient! No dripping spout, no strained wrist from those ridiculous over-wide basins served at some trendy coffee houses. This was comfortable, sensible ergonomics that just added to the whole ambience. On this rain-soaked afternoon, in a situation I hadn't entirely bargained on when I'd left home earlier (going into shops!!!), I found I was still smiling...inwardly, at least. The staff were quick, efficient, quiet, smiling, helpful...just what you want. The whole place was clean and pleasant, smart, clearly signed, readily accessible for hobbly 'ole me, welcoming, and it all combined to make me feel relatively 'at home' for half an hour or so. I know I will visit again and try maybe something hot. I was also impressed by good-sized square teacakes I spotted on the servery counter...and the jumbo mince-pie to be served warm with cream I think I read. I'll have to try those, too, and there was the..........and back in the car, wipers on!! "Get what you wanted, dear?" "Yes thanks. You?" Oh yes!

Popped in this cafe today whilst shopping in dunelm, which incidentally is over priced throughout! We had a nice little table near the edge, with a good view of the store bellow! I had coffee and my sister had tea, both were Luke warm! We had some cakes, which we found to be tasteless and stale. I'd like to think they were having a bad day! Because the lady serving didn't seem very happy either 😕.

Not a bad cafe, [probably nearer 3.5 than 4]. handy if you are shopping in Dunelm or passing by as there is free parking. Coffee is £1.99 and a Cinammon Swirl £1.69. They sell sandwiches and cakes etc. Place is clean but lighting is a bit dim. Staff seem pleasant. The Cafe is located upstairs. Dunelm sell household items, mostly soft furnishings. Prices are a bit pricey but some things are on offer. Trago is a better bet.

Ordered 2 small filter coffees and a large cappuccino. Received 1 small filter coffee, 1 large filter coffee & 1 small cappuccino. I pointed out that this wasn't what I ordered, the 2 members of staff started arguing with each other about what had and hadn't been ordered.....then tried again. This time they produced 2 small cappuccinos and a large filter coffee. At this point I rather lost the proverbial rag, told them that I would sit down and wait for them to get their act together. Finally got served up a medium cappuccino, by then I had lost the will to live and just accepted it. On a slightly more positive note, the cakes were nice.

What can I say? This place is awesome! We go to Cornwall 1 week a year and we are treated like old friends. Great Landlady. Fun happy and friendly staff. Hillarious pub quiz. Welcoming locals. Reas
