Order wasn't quite correct and had to ask for missing items on the order

I wanted to share my recent experience at your Hayle branch, as it fell well below the standard I usually associate with McDonald's. On 23.11.24 during a 300-mile journey from Penzance to Stafford amidst Storm Bert, we decided to stop at the drive-through in Hayle for a quick meal. Unfortunately, it turned out to be anything but "fast food." We placed our order around 13:00-13:20: A McPlant meal (requested without lettuce) with a Diet Pepsi. A Happy Meal with a burger and a Toffee Latte. Two Terry’s Chocolate Orange pies. After ordering, we were asked to park up and wait. The designated waiting bays were full, so we were told to park elsewhere, with assurances that our food would find us. Despite driving a bright yellow car, it took approximately 30 minutes for part of our order (McPlant meal, fries, and pies) to arrive. When the food was finally brought over, we were asked if we already had our drinks. We hadn’t, nor had we received the Happy Meal. My McPlant burger was fine after removing the lettuce, but my fries were cold, limp, and inedible—seemingly from an old batch. Eventually, the drinks and Happy Meal were brought to us by a polite staff member who seemed frustrated with his colleagues. However, the meal was incomplete, missing the burger. My mum also found that her fries were cold and unappetising, just like mine. The staff member promptly returned with her burger after I called him back. The drinks were another disappointment. My Diet Coke tasted off, with a strange fruity flavour that made me gag. My mum’s Toffee Latte spilled before she had a chance to inspect it, ruining her white jumper. She later commented that for a Toffee Latte, it was far too strong and appeared oily, with visible pools of fat or oil floating on top. Shortly after leaving, I began to feel unwell. I had to pull over on the A30 in the middle of Storm Bert as I was violently sick, which left me and my clothing in a terrible state. This experience has put me off visiting the Hayle branch altogether. While I understand that the storm created challenges, I expect better organisation, food quality, and attention to detail from McDonalds.

Hayle mcdonalds serves cold food and doesn't fully fulfil orders if you order through the drive through. Literally live less than 5 minutes away and have to microwave orders so they are hot enough to est. No times on Apple pies so no idea when these have been made. The management need to look at the lack of care for customers as you are letting down the McDonald's brand.

Was welcomed with a lovely smile and well wishes. No idea who the lady staff member was but what a nice welcome. Thank you 🙏

The food was good, it was very noisy and the kids were on half term.

I have to rate to post this Everytime we come to mcdonalds they either get it wrong or something is missing. Food has gone down hill. The staff are useless. Everything is smaller and costs more. Proper joke.

I didn't think it could get any worse than the Pool Camborne McDonald's, but I've just been proved wrong! Why can't these two locations go and get some advice on how to do it properly from Cornwall services St Austell McDonald's. Complete waste of money this evening!

It's huge didn't stay long enough to rate the place, the Cockerell and chickens made us smile though.

Never going again here again… as I was eating the nuggets i started feeling weird, had the shits, massive stomach pains and just feel straight awful…. Waste of money and time I now feel sick! Thanks McDonald’s!

Just had an amazing breakfast. Double Sausage & Egg McMuffin. Very tasty. Quick friendly service. Will definitely return soon.

Standard food levels - not piping hot, but not cold. Had to wait for about 5 minutes, which is no hardship. Philly Cheese Stack is the better one their one-offs, chicken wrap of the day is a good deal at £1.99.

Food chucked in the bag my chicken burger was in two halves with the chicken and top of bun not even in the box

Great staff, quick service. Used the drive through so cannot really give more stars for atmosphere as we were in our own car!

Karen, was very helpful. The Burgers were nice & moist, not like like other McDonald's which can be quite dry. The atmosphere was quite calm, which is unusual for most McDonald's. We had a really pleasant time here.

Mcrispy chicken burger was hard,crispy,very dry and brown.You can barely see looked any chicken it had been cooked so much,it was like it had been their all day.The worse meal ever I would minus 1 but it won't allow me

Well it's like every other MacDonalds really. Good parking and the wiped the table down before we ate. Super fast service.

It was pretty much what you’d expect. The staff were great—super friendly and got my order out quickly. Definitely one of the better McDonald’s experiences in terms of service. Now, about the burger. Look, I love McDonald’s, but their burgers have a certain… Let’s call it charm. The bun was doing its usual thing—kind of off to the side like it was in a rush to leave. The top bun was sliding one way, the fish had gone rogue, and the cheese was just barely hanging in there. It’s like the burger was assembled by someone with their eyes closed. But hey, it’s McDonald’s, and that’s part of the deal. It tasted just how I wanted it to—classic, no-frills McDonald’s goodness. So yeah, I’ll be back. Because let’s be real, where else can you get a burger that’s always a little bit imperfect, but still hits the spot every time?

The food was a little cold and it came very late and the fries taste a bit raw.

Missing food items from order. The food we did get looked like they had been throwing it around. Staff ignored my complaints. Maybe avoid this one.

As with all maccis. Chips cold and re heated, no milkshake and burgers sat so long lettuce gone brown. What u expect nowa days

The burger wasn't outside of the box this time

Popped over here for a quick Oreo McFlurry. I put some Maltesers on it at home, and it now both looks and tastes absolutely 🔥! P.S. I do not need to share about other topics here, since they are already perfect!

Super quick service, piping hot, clean restaurant, friendly staff! Fab!! There are kids activity sheets, colours, book case, tablets, high chairs, outside seating and a kids park. Literally everything!! Highly recommend for a stop off on the way to St Ives.

The toilets were broken men and ladies, extremely! limited parking on site. Food was average mcdonalds grub. 1 burger was over sauced the other built like the leaning tower of Pisa.

Avoid this place when it's busy as they are good at taking your money and the end service is terrible. I ordered the new 4 burger birthday big mac paid for large fries and drink paid cash and was given ticket number 705 at the till..... then I waited and waited order 704 got called out no takers then I waited the numbers went up 117 etc. Then I asked a member of staff she went and looked came back with a bag 2 burgers chips and a drink I said no not that then explained it was the above birthday big mac etc..... the Manager got involved asked who gave me 705 ticket when my meal was 704 I said the till.... the result I'll put fresh fries in the 704 order and you have it so a cold burger that's been laying around for 10 minutes plus......the place is a joke when busy it's all take I got a refund but still got short changed as only had ticket 705 and not 704 my actual order...... if it's busy avoid this place the idea of palming off cold food is terrible no morals for the customer...... Avoid this place it's not even cheap anymore....

They collected the order very slowly, very slowly. The only nice thing was that the woman in the room cleaned the room and brought pencils and coloring books for the child and offered a child’s chair.

Typical good McDonald's food, arrived pretty quickly (10-15 minutes) even though they were mildly busy. Food arrived all hot for the food that was cooked and tasted very nice. Ice cream machine was working at time of getting food 👍

Normally okay, staff tend to forget items in the order. And today around 18.10 I was waiting in the drive through with only 1 other car in front of us and 2 other cars using the other side. And they let 6 other cars through before even getting to us. Which led us to cancel our order due to bad customer service. Will not be coming back for a while.

A well run and clean McDonald's restaurant.

Easily accessible off the roundabout with plenty of parking spaces. Early breakfast time. Fairly quiet. Plenty of seating. Fairly quick service.

Don't go there takes to long to get food and the it's cold

Typical of the type you expect from a bypass-based Macdonalds. Food is acceptable and the decor fully corporate. Staff were pleasant and polite, cleaning was clearly a priority as everything was spotless.

Missing part of the order, the burger buns seemed to be a bit stale, the milkshakes were 2/3rds full, chips were soggy. Young staff bickering and being totally unprofessional , so wish I could have given a big fat zero, I have had to give this McDonald’s a 1 star which in my eyes and experience this is 1 star way too much

Took almost half an hour to get my food and I only ordered fries and chicken nuggets. Staff were more focused on the drive through then people inside

Ordered 3 burgers for dine in. Number came up on board to collect but did not arrive. 2 orders that came up after were served. When asked if everything alright I told yhem why not. They blamed it on waiting for fries. Didn't stop them serving the other 2 orders. Had my number not been put on the board for collection I wouldn't have been annoyed, I'd have just waited until it was.

You'd be better off shutting this mc donalds down and building another lidl! 9 times out if 10 the foods cold! The staff are lifeless! And have 0 customer service. Please do us all a favour...

Food was good however, awful service from RILEY. Disappointed. Was extremely rude and dismissive and judged me for eating.

Placed click and serve order 26/02/24. 2 cars who arrived after us were served before we were. When we asked the employee she said she’d check and get back to us. A young lad came out with the order which was freezing cold and pieces missing. How hard is it to put cheese in a cheeseburger? When we tried to tell him about this his response was “okay” and ran away like a quivering child. Poor customer service. Could maybe do with some sessions on how to interact with other members of the general public if this member of staff wants to have any success in the future. Not angry just disappointed for the lad and how his lack of basic articulacy skills have turned out for him.

Which McDonald's is this review referring to? I've no idea, but you know what they're like, some better than others.

Usual breakfast a sausage,egg muffin with hash brown. A little poorly assembled so trick to eat in the car, however it was moist and tasty so hit the spot. Coffee was flat white and good, though a black is my favorite McD's do seem to use plasma to make up!

It's a McDonald's, food was hot in the Drive-Thru, chocolate was good.

Never opens on time. I stop off regularly for my morning coffee. It's really annoying that opening times state 6am and as I'm passing on a30 at 6am you would think its ideal for a quick stop off. No not this McDonald's they open when they feel like it sometimes 6.10am before they decide to open which by the time I drive through and get it turns into 6.15 before I'm back on the road now running behind for work. No apologies No nothing and act like it's totally acceptable. Always seem to be youngsters running this place and I'm sorry that you can get up early enough to start work but if you can't open at 6am as stated everywhere then you need to change your opening times to what can be managed by your team. And wouldn't effect everyone.

Went through drive in and for the second time they could only take cash?? Wen I got to the get my food window, after queuing and not being able to buy anything, I spoke to the young girl who had her back to me ... So I raised my voice slightly, and looking at me she turned back to me and carried on talking to her colleagues... I just wanted to ask if I could get some food inside ???? So I just drove off upset.... This is the second time that the money via card won't work. Wat was doubly annoying was the fact that they didn't tell me prior to joining the queue... So I wasted my time and diesel b nightmare

Food could always be hotter but other than that exactly what you'd expect. One of the more consistent fast food stops, polite staff. Can be noisy when full of kids.

Took 20 minutes to get food served. Very unhelpful staff.

Today, it was just as a fast food outlet should be. Easy to order, quickly made table delivery, and consistent quality. Well done.

Ordered thru just eat, food was cold, McDonald's in Cornwall are pretty much all the same, and it's not good. Usually young people, of student age have no pride in the food they are serving, they talk to you like they're bored and it's a huge let down.
