Stayed here many time, service is always good. Can take a while to get food at busy times. But overall, it's very good.

Such a shame as a very average venue. And, dogs aren't allowed. Would we recommend NO.

Christmas dinner was tasty and plenty of it. Ben was in festive cheer when serving our table and couldn’t do enough for us 👍

I booked a table for xmas lunch and to me it was not up to standard only the two cups of coffee were hot the meal itself was under par at a price of £50 this will never be repeated ever again at the beefeater

Had a lovely birthday breakfast for my youngest son (40!). Always enjoy the good range of options on offer and this occasion was no exception

This place was easy to find, in a pretty good location, with plenty of free parking, and right next to a hotel. I had not booked a table, but I was seated straight away. The lady who served me was friendly and happy, the food was good, and the prices were reasonable 👍

The shabbiest of all the beefeaters the staff are friendly enough but the service is shocking nearly as bad as the food

I live 15 miles from this place but nearer table table Camborne, and brewers fare Hayle… I’ve tried beefeater three weeks now on a Sunday as my schedule is pretty much tied. The first time the medium steak to well done was cremated.. mushrooms starter, cremated in old fat, cannot even see or taste a mushroom.. disgusting!!! The second week it was on par! All was acceptable with my partners mixed grill but the eggs was hard that you would like on your plate with steak and eggs.. But the mushrooms starter again over fried, cremated. I thought we would try a Third week .. Well we had the same dinner, mixed grill, I had a sirloin steak with garlic mushrooms to share.. was burnt in over fried fat! No taste, we had to complain. The meal on our third visit was extremely small .. when you pay For steak 🥩 meal And a mixed grill you expect the same service!! I approached the wonderful staff and they are amazing about the state of the dinner and wanted a refund on cremated mushrooms… it was amended.. I approached the manager and said how sad and disgustingly disappointed I was as a returning customer… He had a smug face, shoved his shoulders and said fine. Don’t once as a manager try to make the customer happy and satisfied.. My opinion this man is a dysfunctional person who just wants a wage on the end of day. His name is WILLIAM HEWWITT…( MANAGER ) I won’t be returning to this establishment… The staff although are incredibly attentive…

The hallumi was not freshly made. My husbands chicken and bacon melt with chips was cold. I had the sirloin steak which was also cold. My husband had the Lotus biscoff pudding, which was actually lacking in biscoff biscuit, and any sauce. We also had to pay for a tiny little pot of bbq sauce. The staff also did not seem happy when we were served our order

Friend and I visited for lunch. Greeted by a pleasant lady and shown to our table. I ordered the festive stack burger which was delicious as was the gravy. My friend’s steak was also good. Lovely strong decent sized latte to finish. Not haute cuisine, but well cooked and value for money

The heating was not turned on until we arrived and it was not pleasant eating in such a cold environment, had the cheesy potato dippers and the Halloumi sticks for starters, the potato dippers were like flattened chips and greasy, the Halloumi sticks were so thin it was difficult to taste anything but the coating, 1 of the main meals came with cold chips, the waitress did bring a bowl of hot ones when we complained. We have eaten in Beefeaters before which have been fine, this was not .

What an awful place. We had vouchers for a free steak. The voucher stated one main meal to be bought to get the steak meal free. We went with friends, who also had their own coupon. The manager came over and said only one voucher per table. We said that two of us would move to another table, as if it would have mattered. The place wasn't busy. He was such a jobs worth person that we all walked out. Even with the free steaks we would have spent about £100, so he is losing business for the Whitbread group. The waiter was nice and said he was very sorry but the manager has the last say. Having read reviews, I think it's probably best we didn't eat there. The place wasn't very clean and the seats were extremely stained and dirty.

Cleaner this time which was reassuring and the reason we have not been for a while. However, I doubt some hygiene as again I had an upset tummy after the visit. A shame as such a good spot and nice food at a good price. Staff vary hugely. This time it was very quiet but staff were lingering out of the way. Presumably low wages but not a good look.

Conveniently located for a two night stay at the adjacent Premier Inn and after a long drive decided to eat here. Very pleasantly surprised. Clean, friendly (served by Ruby & Wendy) and steak & salmon really well cooked (by Owen). Great value for money, hence eating here on both nights!

Had a great breakfast on both occasions. In particular James the staff member who met us at the desk was very friendly and professional in taking care of us. I give him 10/10 for customer service. Well done James.

Nice placemamd the food akd service was good. However, we were sat opposite the worlds loudest coffee maker.

Realy enjoyed our visit. Lovely, friendly staff. Prawn cocktail starter and steak were very good. The waitress, Jodie, made us a perfect irish coffee. Unfortunately not always good. Have visited on subsequent occasions have had indifferent service and poor food. Last visit all food was cold/luke warm. Disappointed.

Grilled vegetables were so cold they felt like they were pulled out the fridge. The vegan/plant based burger was ok but could of done with ketchup. Chips were OK. Asked for sauces and was told they charge so be ready to eat dry chips. Prices of meals and portion sizes weren't great. Oh and by the way the Unlimited drinks - means you can only order what you first requested. If you requested diet coke you're not allowed to change it for another flavoured unlimited drink which I think is crazy. I also wasn't informed unlimited drinks meant they were all diet drinks. Had I known I wouldn't have ordered unlimited. Was going to order more, dessert and moctails for a family of 4. However, after the bad service, bad food I thought not to spend a penny more and WILL NOT BE RETURNING!!!!. I live local so that is really disappointing that it's not a place I'd return to.

First time of going in, for food and drinks. Helpful staff, and good menu to choose from. Service was good.

On holiday in the local area, The food was lovely and exceptionally well cooked however the service was an absolute let down. 15 minutes to be seated (pre booked and on time) another 40 before a drinks order was taken and the attitude from our server was abysmal. Unfortunately not even a busy night so no excuse for the extreme lengthy wait.

Come in 5.30pm bank holiday Monday end of August. It was dead ( nice ) the food was fine and nice and the staff were great. I can imagine it gets very busy

Wanted a roast, so called ahead @ 6:30 but they'd run out. Went ahead anyway & booked for 7pm. Ordered Lasagne & side salad, steak & ale pie & chips & Salmon, garlic pots & veg with side of mini corn on the cob. All came up as orered & we all enjoyed our meals. Thanks Beefeater 😊

So noisy full of screaming kids, service was slow, meal arrived wrong and cold, sent it back for a new one. Steak was very chewy, not a nice experience and was not worth the money. I do not reccomended this place.

The service was appallingly slow. Waited over 30 minutes for our desserts. Would not serve us mocktails because we had children in our party. The server told us that they were not allowed to serve them to children even though they were alcohol free. The main meals were ok but the desserts, when they did arrive, were not nice. Our local Beefeater is 200% better than this restaurant. We are on holiday down here. We will not be coming back again.

Giving me hot food would have been a good start. Most of the food cold, all of the food tasteless and evidently very cheap quality. Worst meal I’ve ever had.

Terrible experience, they changed our sitting 3 times, they don't allow to add a chair to the table. They served us a cocktail that wasn't complete without any apology, just that they ran out of prosecco. The waitress even had attitude

Went for breakfast and was the worse breakfast I have ever had. The bacon is so dry. The bread is stale. All the continental breads are stale. The hot food tastes like yesterday’s left overs. So I thought as I haven’t ate any of the food. I’d have a banana in which was frozen. Defo would not recommend coming for breakfast

Tables outside sadly in a very poor state, should be a nice area to sit and eednjoy the weather, tables filthy and covered in bird droppings, piles of cigarette butts left on on tables, needs a lot of attention, seems to be a large neglected space for smokers.

I little spontaneous detour for breakfast and it was lovely. Fairly priced, friendly efficient service, unlimited breakfast with a lovely continental selection. All enjoyed with a brew in the garden which in the sunshine was really lovely. We will definitely be going back. ☺️

Make those portions any smaller Beefeater and it's not worth coming. I left after a 3 course meal hungry. Cut your portions and you will cut your customer service was excellent

The food is absolutely shockingly bad. It took five attempts to get a steak onto the table that was edible. All I asked for was medium. We received a variation from cold through to blue through to cremated. It was at the point I was suggesting I should go into the kitchen and cook my meal. Chips were soggy for other family members and dried up burned chicken goujons were served to my child. The lady chef in this restaurant simply can not cook. She should be fired. On the plus side - the waiters, waitresses and managers were all lovely and tried very hard to make things better. We weren’t charged. These hard working staff deserve better though.

Stayed at Premier Inn opposite. We had a meal when we arrived, waited an age for our food! The waitress looked clueless. The place looked like it needed an overhaul and there was food over the floor, very dangerous and could have caused a slip. The next evening we called in for a drink and was told if we weren't eating that we had to take our drinks into the bar area. What a dump that was, tatty settees, rubbish on the tables. We took our drinks to our room in the end.

Food was lovely and the service was very good

If you have an assistant dog don't bother coming here, they do not allow them unless they are for the blind of deaf. So if you have a service dog for medical reasons they will not allow them in even if you have the correct documents for your dog. Totally disgusted with them they made me feel so small and unwanted.

Stopped on my bike for a swift pint in the garden. Do they know that the yard broom has been invented! Shows a distinct lack of management. Come on Beefeater get a grip. Nice pint of Stella though.

On holiday in the area so booked table for Sunday lunch at 3pm. We were just in luck as they only had enough for us. They only had the chicken and meat free option available as had been very busy earlier. We were looked after by Wendy and Victoria. Food was plentiful and hot. Had no room after for pudding.

Myself, my wife and our two daughters who are both under 3 came here on Saturday 15th of June. We haven’t been out for a meal for a while because of the bad service at other places we went to. However, we chose to come out on that date here. We got seated really fast and got offered drinks fast and got offered to take our order fast too, which was amazing. We were looked after by Ben the entire time there and he made us feel so welcome and over delivered with everything. Food was really fast, food was very hot and he accommodated changes which we asked for and because our two girls were sharing a meal as one kids meal is too much for their size, he made sure to split the plates etc, which was so nice of him. Honestly, this guy needs a promotion or something. It’s such a shame when you go to a Whitbread restaurant and the service is poor, honestly we would go back again here.

Arrived here having cycled with the family and wanted a drink sat outside. I have tried to raise my concerns with 'guest relations' but despite my communication and their acknowledgement they have failed to get back to me. I wanted to alert them to the state of the outside space clearly neglected for such an extended period that there was vermin loitering around in broad daylight. Overflowing bins and ashtrays, rotten gazebos, dirty tables etc. The barmaid had the charm of a rottweiler!

Terrible service they got it all wrong.

We have visited twice in the last couple of weeks - the first for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon and the second for dinner on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was almost empty for the first visit; service was first class and the food was to match. The place was rammed for the second visit, largely due to a party of 40. We were seated promptly on (15 minute late) arrival without fuss and warned of a 40 minute to one hour wait for food. We decided to stay and were told again when we ordered that food would take 40 minutes. It arrived almost exactly on 40 minutes so expectations fulfilled. Unsurprisingly, as it was so busy, the food was not so good as the previous time and we had to send back the corn on the cob to be warmed up but it was generally fine. We had the ribs and chicken combo both times and would thoroughly recommend this. Service was excellent both times and a special mention for Wendy who, despite being run off her feet, was super efficient, cheerful and friendly.

We had the Sunday lunch. Plentiful and good value although disappointingly the lamb, which I was really looking forward to as you don't see it in many places, was a bit on the chewy side. I managed and the flavour was delicious. Very attentive staff. I hope this site is not included on the Whitbread hit list. It would be very badly missed by Premier Inn customers and locals alike.

Food arrived hot. Service was quite slow due to lack of staff. One of the staff forgot to bring over some ketchup, we would have asked for it but there were no staff to be seen until we had finished our meal! The staff were friendly and hard working but too thinly spread.

Menu fine if you want beef burger etc.

Honestly wouldn't bother coming here agree with the other reviews food wasn't great for what you pay 😕. The wait time also was 45 minutes for food, I had four kids with me and the restaurant wasn't busy 🤷🏻🙄😩 but our waitress was nice and kind 👍🏻

Great food and friendly service

Told us the first payment failed, despite us showing the transaction pending on our bank insisted on taking it again. both payments were taken and now making it seriously hard work to get refund 3 weeks later. A chain like beefeater should be able to look at the facts and just refund when a mistake is made. has left a very sour taste from what was a nice meal.

Pretty disappointed to say the least and I didn’t have high expectations I expected just basic food but believe customer service it what makes or breaks anything - we spent a night at the adjoining premier inn - thought we would grab some basic grub that evening - the woman who ‘greeted’ us, and I use that term loosely, didn’t break a smile and was incredibly uninviting - after 45 minutes waiting for food I went to find out where it was and was told we would be next - when it came out half of it was cold. The following morning had a similar ‘greeting’ from the man who met us ‘have you booked?’ I said no we are staying next door ‘well have you got it included or something’ I confirmed I had already paid he then just pointed at a table for us to go to- that was it! If you want anything other than white scrambled eggs with the cooked breakfast you have to ordered them!

Poor menu options on Easter Sunday, we can understand the roast might have run out, but no veg or fish? The staff couldn't have apologised enough or been as friendly but ultimately in an Easter weekend food shouldn't run out!

Breakfast buffet was ok, we were late in the day for breakfast which never helps the food quality. It certainly would have been better earlier in the day.

Booked a table for breakfast...wasn't ready...tables had to be moved to accommodate 5 of us...unlimited breakfast but hardly any items available...very slow to replenish...yes it was busy but should be able to acknowledge this...staff on avoidance.attitude problem..swearing going on from staff for all to hear....the food was of good quality but would of been nice if you could have items all together..oh..no plates..were told to use shallow bowls...which would of been good if at least warm...needs a lot of work there !!!

Went for Mother’s Day / Birthday weekend the travel inn is ok staff behind desk there very helpful. Beefeater however was not great at 7.30 in the morning a male member of staff was extremely rude , because the coffee machine was broken in the restaurant and he was behind the bar next to a ready to go coffee machine we asked if we could have one we were quite loudly told no if I do for you I will have to do it for everyone else , also it’s not good for customers to hear at 7.30 in the morning that he can’t wait for 5 o clock . The plates at breakfast were cold and food lukewarm .

In our experience Beefeaters can be a bit hit & miss but this one is up there with the best of them!! We arrived without a booking on a soggy Saturday afternoon, and were greeted most pleasantly by a lovely lady who showed us to our table very promptly with minimal fuss, which is very at odds with our previous experience at Beefeaters, not that it's a problem, quite the opposite, we were delighted. And we were treated to a wonderful meal, beautifully prepared & presented by staff who clearly cared and took pride in what they did & how they did it. I have a feeling that this will be our go to eatery when in the Truro area again. We'll done Beefeater Carnon Downs, top job, you should be proud!!

Good food,good service,nice and clean, would recommend and return, The unlimited breakfast at £9.99 is fantastic value,tried most of the starters and they are lovely,the ribs and chicken are tasty so is the burgers,but avoid fish and chips,my fish was very greasy and the batter was solid.

Great staff, upgraded our steak, the steak was beautiful and tasted wonderful, food wait time wasn't long and overall it was a brilliant experience, would highly recommend.

Lunch time and trying somewhere new, didn't disappoint, I had the beef roast and the wife had the lamb roast, both excellent, will be returning.

First time we have visited Truro, lovely meal and Ben and all the team made is feel so welcome, thank you 5 stars all round

Shocking experience,we sent both our meals back. I had very overcooked, dry chicken & my husband only ate about 1/4 of his ribeye steak as is was so tough

After waiting forever for our food,It came out cold and missing 1/2 the stuff we ordered, the manager offered a fresh lot and when asked how long will it be he said "I don't know 🤷". I wish I read the other reviews and gone to maccies 😫

We came here to Cornwall for a funeral and this place just made it a whole lot sadder, I have no idea what the scramble egg was and don't think there was any egg in it, the pancakes were cold and tasteless. The coffee machine was broken the first day and came out with the wrong coffee and the plates and bowls were definitely dirty. We stayed at the premier Inn next to it and booked breakfast and yet they told us we needed to book a table separately, I mean breakfast with no seats or table does not sound fun but the staff were quite nice. However I agree with the other reviews, you're better off going to Macdonald's.

Absolutely awful customer service. Think it was the manager. Rude, unfriendly, slow, attitude was awful. I love writing good reviews for places I go. But this experience today. I asked for couple more sugars please,, you would have thought I had asked her for her kidney. She was coughing all over the place, please you that ill wear a mask 😷. The coffee was weak and luke warm. The other staff that popped out, had very unhappy vibe. Obviously having a manager with horrid approach to customers and her job will obviously filter down to the team.

Do not order 'Smothered chicken melt'. My food was delivered on a plate with a sheet of greasy brown paper between food and plate. First impression of food was, it looked unappetising. I then found that the chicken was completely dried out, difficult to cut and inedible. The fies served with the meal were barely lukewarm and soon cold. I rejected the food and fortunately I was not charged for it. I used to enjoy Beefeater, but this experience has put me off returning.

The food is as expected, not always the quickest when it comes to replenishment of food and drinks, possibly short of staff? When asked, the staff were helpful, just a shame they aren't able to stay on top of cleaning down after people leave and topping up food and drink. Still £9.99 all you can eat breakfast and kids eat free is a bargain in today's financial climate. In short, Meh...would go again. 👍

Was nice, but a bit cold and only 2 waiters so a bit of a wait and not in order of entry...

All good, especially the staff. Some other customers were complaining that the room was cold and indeed the radiators were cold but it didn't spoil our experience.

Food good, although received a fatty steak was cooked as requested and was received in a timely fashion, hot and appetising. The reason its not a 5 star is purely due to the lack of service received from our so-called waitress. I don't even know her name as she couldn't even be bothered to say. Let alone check on us or take additional orders. I will return but will refuse to sit in her section. Thank you.

Dirty, with 'interesting' guests going back and forth from the hotel wrapped in towels buying pints of lager to take away. Food was simply reheated, poor quality food. Avoid.

The food here is absolutely awful. Mixed grill was so small uncooked and cold. Not what you expect to get for the price it costs! The roast dinner was so small as well and looked like it was microwaved. The waitress also forgot our starters and sauces. Beefeater used to be so good not sure what has happened to the place.

What a disgrace this place was toaster broken, no egg sausage, hb’s or beans when asked how long they would be was advised that he couldn’t give me an answer, so asked if it was 5 mins,10 mins, or an hour he said more than 5 less than 10 waited 20 mins before sausage arrived so had a sausage sandwich and left, as we were leaving the eggs arrived, it was so bad it was funny

Breakfast 311223. Party of 8. No sausages, No beans. Minimum hash browns. No fried eggs. Had to ask staff to get this rectified. No spoons. Hot drinks machine not vending. Used to be a good venue, but regrettably failed. 😒 Spoils the dining experience somewhat.

DO NOT EAT THERE! "Chief" need to be fired! We went with a fr for dinner, food was served pre heated, very disappointed. Don't waste your money and time! Merry Christmas!

Went to carnon inn for Christmas Eve dinner with family not at all happy with the food I think they should sack the chef if he. Or she is actually a chef Steak cold sent back and replaced with equally cold one that had so much gristle on it it was impossible to swallow Roast turkey bland with no trimmings just served with roast potatoes and peas Supposed to be served with red wine gravy but was actually tomato and basil soup chicken burger thing is all I can describe the other attempt as over cooked I could go on but you get the general idea I did not expect it to be perfect as we had a 33% off voucher Then told the voucher is not valid on this menu but they could break it down instead and charge us an expensive menu price then take the discount off Disappointed yes Feel we were ripped off yes Worse meal I have had in a long time yes Only reason I did not kick off more is because it was Christmas and the waitress had obviously had enough complaints already didn’t want to ruin her Christmas too It was not her fault that she was unfortunately having to serve this appalling food Will I be visiting this establishment again most certainly not I would rather eat out of McDonald’s waste bins I am certainly not the only person who has this problem there are many more I know that from the comments overheard from other tables that evening I hope they actually read this and do something about it so other people don’t have to suffer

For a boxing special lunch it was disastrous Food was cold taste disgusting couldn’t eat it. Wouldn’t recommend it at all

Second time we have been. The service has always been very good. Unfortunately, the quality and availability of the food seems to be very poor. Fried food is very over cooked. Portions are very small.

Went in for the Christmas menu, waited over an hour for drinks and starters to arrive, despite it being early lunchtime and not busy the pate was grey and inedible, the roast was awful potatoes undercooked and soggy veg raw and turkey cold won’t be going back

Service are poor people are nice but food has taken 2 hours to make and then said they messed up and had to start again and wouldn’t come here again.

Met up with friends in the morning for coffee which you have to do yourself from a machine. No cups and was shocked to be charged £7.45 for a coffee and two teas. Absolutely disgusting. Furniture is falling apart and awful atmosphere.
