Went with our car club food served up for 28 all at one time staff good at their jobs food very good and lots of it nothing to much trouble

Just returned from a fabulous stay again . On arrival we were shown to our favourite room 9 but through no fault of them or us we had to move . The lovely Dee dealt with it as soon as possible and we then moved all our stuff to room 12 [another spotlessly clean room]. Our little dog was yet again fussed over and made welcome by all. We have come to call this place our Cornwall home, as we are made to feel so welcome by all the wonderful staff there. Plus it’s so central to get around Cornwall. Can’t wait to visit again.

Arrived for a surprise night away with the Mrs and she was very happy from the moment we got there to the moment we left. Friendly, polite, interested, and generally charming young folk across the board. Well done you Cornish youngsters - did the county proud you did ! Food and drink was smashing - check out my pictures. Will deffo stop by again. Thank you.

My meal was very lovely, I had halloumi fritters but my husband's salmon was very very small and he was not pleased. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly but we had very long waits for food. Unfortunately we were seated in the conservatory bit and it totally lacked atmosphere, maybe due to the high ceilings and sparse decor. There was also no music on that we could hear and I felt quite cold. Wish we had been seated in the pub side

Absolutely amazing place to stay. Arrived and was greeted by Dee what a fab lady. Upgraded our room to room 6 in the Hen house. And omg what an amazing room we'll suite. Very large comfy bed, gorgeous bath and bathroom. Are in the restaurant and the staff were amazing nothing is too much trouble . Food was delicious. Slept really well and breakfast was again absolutely delicious. Ended up staying here for a second night due to a dirty room at another hotel. Checked in late Lauren was amazing and made us feel so welcome after the day we had had. This time stayed in room 17 absolutely perfect room and very comfy bed. Breakfast spot on. Can't wait to go back again and hopefully it will be soon.

What a refreshing change to find a restaurant that serves food that is tasty and freshly cooked, so many places are serving frozen/pre-papared food and charging a lot for what is rubbish. Not the Plume they serve good and interesting food and no more expensive than other mediocre establishments. Well done we will be back!

We had a wonderful breakfast visit to The Plume today. It was very easy to make an online reservation and we received a warm welcome upon arrival. Friendly and professional service. Place is very clean and the food was delicious. We were a party of three who all ordered different meals and everyone was happy. Great portions and good coffee too! I took a photo of my order below but the others had already started tucking in! Thank you to the lovely team! We will definitely be back for another girl’s get together soon. Thoroughly recommend 😊

Dined in the bar as the restaurant was full, and received excellent and attentive service throughout our meal. I was delighted with the mushroom tacos, and all the dishes were generously portioned and very tasty. Unfortunately we did not have room for dessert - next time!!

We have dined here many times, but this visit was extremely disappointing. The portion sizes were small, and the quality of the food was poor. None of us enjoyed our main courses, which took an hour to arrive. Additionally, there were many flies in the restaurant landing on our food and drinks, which was very unpleasant.

Awful service, totally forgotten about. Had to ask for menu's in order to get service. Food was average with tiny portions for price. Wasn't sure if I had been given a child's portion of fish and chips but couldn't check as no one came to ask if food was OK! My wife had the lasagne which looked like it had just come out of the microwave. Waitress apologised and said they had been busy (on a Thursday lunchtime). We live locally but won't be going back again or recommending to friends.

We had a warm welcome every time we entered the main building. Plenty of parking available and the outside space is also tastefully designed, even making the walk from the rooms or car park to the main building that bit more special. All the staff were polite, pleasant and it really felt like nothing was too much trouble. Special thanks to Dee who was a breath of fresh air, remembered us every day, was very helpful and did everything she could to make our experience all the better and encourage us to return. Our room was immaculately presented and beautifully decorated, which gave us an immediate feeling of relaxation. The Cornish breakfast was delicious and sensibly, to avoid disappointment, we were advised to book a table for our evening meals, which we did. We were not disappointed, there was a great choice of dishes and the roast dinner, served till late on the Sunday evening, was a wonderful treat. Fully recommend to everyone. We loved this place, the calming interior and happy staff, made our stay away an extremely relaxed experience and we are already looking forward to visiting again in November.

We visit Cornwall every January/February and often stop for lunch at the Plume of Feathers on route to the Lizard. However, this time we decided to stay here for 3 nights as its so central to explore both coastine. Food:- some of the best home made food we have tasted in Cornwall. The award winning "Pie of the Day" is without doubt the BEST meat pie i have ever tasted. Sunday lunch and breakfast consist of the finest local ingredients, you certainly wont starve here. Accommodation:- Very spacious modern fully fitted ground floor suite with enormous bathroom having a stand alone bath and large walk in "wet room" style shower. Service:- We were made to feel so welcome from every member of staff, housekeeping, bar, restaurant and reception but one staff member really stood out, Dee. We came for a birthday evening meal along with the family dog. The food was the best meal we have had at the Plume. The artichoke starter and the scotch egg were both so delicious and generous in size. The hake and the pork belly were the same- so tasty and generous. Lots we could have picked from the menu that sounded yummy. Special mention that our dog was given cuddles and a treat which was so lovely. Can’t wait to return

Amazing!!!! We booked on recommendations from friends and we certainly weren’t disappointed. The food was delicious and great portion sizes with very reasonable pricing. The service was plus 5 star from the moment we walked in to leaving, the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and polite. We have just returned from a fantastic 5 night stay in Room 11. We had bed, breakfast and evening meals and found everything outstanding. Friendly and helpful staff throughout in reception, bar restaurant and cleaning ladies. Can't wait to return.

In many ways this is a lovely hotel. The rooms are beautiful, the setting is lovely, the breakfast is delicious and the reception and restaurant staff are brilliant. Sadly, none of this makes up for our awful experience of inconsiderate noise from staff, and an appalling response from management. We visited and stayed in room 1, the boot room, which we now know is right next to the kitchen prep room. When I say right next door, I mean the window of the bedroom is at a 90 degree angle to the door of the prep room, literally inches away. We were woken on Sunday morning at 6am by slamming doors. This was the kitchen staff going in and out, every time they opened the door they just let it swing and crash shut behind them. We could also hear them knocking around, moving things, banging things. This continued every 2-10 minutes until 9.30 when, after accepting there was going to be no sleep or relaxation, we went to breakfast. When checking out we raised this with the lovely reception team who themselves seemed frustrated by our comments, leading us to think they had heard this before and they knew full well how bad it was for guests. We were told that our room and the room next door were the “two noisiest rooms”. We said how disappointed we were at the lack of consideration from the staff (they must know that there are people trying to sleep literally inches away?!) and asked to speak to the manager. The lady from reception came back and offered us a £20 reduction. We asked if the manager was going to come and speak to us, but we were told they were busy and we could wait if we’d like. It felt very much like we were being dismissed/ignored rather than listened to (again, not by the reception team, who were very sympathetic, but by the management team who are happy to charge the money and then put people in rooms they know full well are hideously disturbed by noise). So, my advice, if you really want to stay here, do, because the rooms are beautiful and the food is great. But, do your research on the rooms and when booking insist on not being in room 1, 2, or anywhere near the prep room!

We ended up staying here in the on-site accommodation last minute, as we had to vacate another hotel due to mould issues and we were travelling with our 8 month old. The staff were incredibly accommodating and upon hearing of the difficulty we had with the other hotel upgraded us as they had a suite available. We were blown away by how amazing the accommodation on site was and how friendly and responsive the staff were. We had a great meal in the restaurant that evening that was delicious followed by a lovely breakfast the next morning. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area.

Simply wonderful!!! OMG the staff are just phenomenal by epic proportion!! The ladies doing the cleaning are just the salt of the earth and we love em all. The girls co-ordinating bookings and reception take a bow! You are awesome! Nothing was ever a problem, the help and advice you gave along with your friendliness will never be forgotten. Service in the restaurant and bar is top draw, you know who you all are and you are also amazing!! Then comes the accommodation which is stunning, the setting and location is incredible with great views of the charming surroundings, rooms are fabulous and spacious and the bar and restaurant is gorgeous! Food is up there with the best we’ve had and the chefs and kitchen staff are truly outstanding…Can’t wait to go again what a two weeks holiday we had WOW!!

My mum and I booked two separate rooms. Our stay was from 23rd December to 27th December. We have previously stayed at the Lewinnick and decided to stay at The Plume this time. We arrived before the official check in time but were shown to our rooms 15 & 16 as they were ready. These rooms are classed as Deluxe Doubles. Both rooms are ideally located at the top of the gardens. I was in room 16 and my review specifically relates to this room and my stay. On entering the room, it was warm and spacious with beautiful decor. The location of The Plume is minutes from the A30 but as soon as you close the door there is silence. The room is super quiet, which is what I like and has views to the landscaped front gardens and to fields at the rear. I loved how the bed had two softer pillows and two firmer ones so you could choose which you liked. I also love all the little touches, like the umbrella, the coat hooks at the door, and the staff took the time to write a Christmas card and left some lovely chocolates and a small bouquet of flowers. Breakfast each morning was consistently excellent! I’m not a vegetarian but I opted for the vegetarian breakfast each morning purely because it was just so good! The only other time we ate at the pub was for Christmas Day lunch, this was only because we’d pre booked lots of other places we wanted to eat at whilst on holiday being the foodies we are. We ate at 2.30pm on Christmas Day and our table was located in the Conservatory. We had preordered our menu but I felt it wasn’t ’pre made’ like some menus can be it was all so fresh and piping hot. It was an excellent meal. Just a couple of observations/suggestions I’d like to make; Housekeeping ~ my room was spotless but can I suggest prior to signing the room off for guests, switch on all the lights as you’ll pick up some of the small cobwebs which cannot be seen in an unlit room. Breakfast Christmas Day ~ maybe offer a glass of Buck’s Fizz? Christmas Day lunch ~ tea/coffee should be included in the menu along with a mini mince pie. None of my suggestions are criticism only observations to enhance the experience/guests stay. Would I stay here again? Absolutely I would. I do not know anyone’s name who we came across but everyone was excellent in their job. Thank you for an amazing Christmas!!

Live locally but haven't been to the Plume of Feathers for some years. We were delighted by our experience yesterday. The menu was innovative- not just the usual choices; the variety in each dish was amazing and the flavours fabulous. For example the Mexican Prawn starter had small prawns and lettuce in a lovely sauce in one dish, topped with guacamole and tiny cubes of mojito, an accompanying dish contained very finely chopped salad there was a separate sauce and some specialist bread. Even the lime wedge had been lighly charred. Such attention to detail! I followed this with a Coronation Chicken curry and was expecting small chicken pieces in a sauce. Instead 2 of the tenderest, juiciest portions of chicken were served with a sauce next to it. My husband ordered filthy fries as a side dish to his lamb moussaka and was given a really large bowl of chips with mince and kidney chilli topped with cheese. The chef's work was superb, the waitress lovely- this is the best meal we had in a pub or restaurant for many years!

Booked in advance, we were shown into the conservatory, this room is lovely but for a member of our party who has had a stroke and is hard of hearing the noise levels in there were a challenge. We asked if there was a table available in the pub side and were told yes there was and staff would sort but we were not moved. Two of the party ordered Moussaka but this was not available. We ordered two hake (which were enjoyed) and two Thali meals which came with steamed broccoli not chargrilled garlic and neither of us could taste coconut in the rice, we asked for coconut for the rice only to be told you only serve coconut rice. Adamant plain steamed rice served. Didn’t push this any further but really felt corners were cut and you looked under staffed, I hope this was by circumstances rather than rostering. Overall a bit disappointing but would return to try the Moussaka! How do you request a pub table when you can’t speak to a human?

Initially friendly and efficient service...But had to get up to find staff to order desert and coffee...there were not many customers and the staff were just sat chatting food nice very pricey

The bread rolls were not cooked properly and they forgot the wine totally No pan-cooked stake on stake night got a pie instead and that was all dry very disappointing

Undoubtedly the best value Hotel I’ve ever stayed in . My deluxe room was amazing the shower the bath the bed bedding was all incredible…… The food is amazing and the staff are all lovely very helpful and attentive Love this place absolutely love it!!!!!!
