We love Jam Jar. As pizza snobs and ex-pizzaiolo chefs - we highly rate the dough and the menu. Can be a bit risky turning up and getting a seat due to no booking policy but it's worth the risk and never been turned away. Think we've been 10-15 times in last 2 years. Great drinks, service and sides as well. So glad it's not next door or we'd be dead from pizza overdosing. Hope to be back before end of season. Probably the best pizza in Cornwall when on point.

We we’re delighted to eat at the jam jar and have a pizza for dinner this evening but when we arrived one of the waiters told us rudely that we have stopped serving food even though that there opening times are till 20:45 we turned up an hour before closing a family of six really excited we then had to settle for a frozen pizza from Londis very disappointed.

Visited The Jam Jar. Been before, it's something of a must if you are coming to Crantock. Won't be again 🥲 It opens at 5pm, we were there (family of 4) as 5.05pm., In fairness on entry the server did tell us there would be an hour wait for pizza. We weren't going to go in when she said this but she said it was just the pizzas as they only had one oven, but we could have some starters whilst we waited. We therefore went in an ordered. They seriously need to get more staff or reduce the amount of covers as they clearly cannot cope. If you can't cope don't allow that many people in. We ordered starters that didn't have to come from the pizza area (eg not garlic bread) We waited an hour for a burrata salad and a rocket salad ! I could have thrown ingredients on myself in 5 mins., We then found out that because we'd ordered starters our pizza order would go to back of queue!! We got our pizzas at 7.05pm, 2 hours after we had entered. Utterly ridiculous. £125 bill for starters, 4 pizzas which got left because we'd gone past wanting them and 5 drinks only two being alcoholic. Please a) get more staff and b) don't be greedy and try and squeeze more people in than you can cope with.

Wanted to try Jam Jar for years after seeing great reviews! It definitely lived up! Pizza was cooked to perfection and an amazing size for the price. Definitely worth it 👍🏻 Only giving a 4 because the parking is hard (only thing putting me off coming again) and the service is pretty slow we waited 20+ minutes for the bill…

Lovely pizzas on a delicious traditional base with very generous, quality toppings. We only popped in for a takeaway, conveniently ordered through the handy takeaway hatch separate from the cafe. Appeared a bit hit and miss with their opening times though, found it quite tricky to find out when we could pay them a visit. Glad we did though.

It’s such a shame as this place is so well located and you can tell it could be great - but we had awful pizzas on our visit. We ordered 4 pizzas and they all came slopping in tomato sauce on a burnt base and you couldn’t cut a slice without all the toppings falling off. I had a ham and mushroom pizza - I read a review on here that says they taste like they use cheap supermarket ingredients for toppings - and I’d have to agree. Too much cheap chewy ham and mainly stumps of a large mushroom - which all fell off. Just so disappointing. It got so busy and the waitresses were nice but not attentive (which wasn’t something I minded as it was busy) but trying to settle the bill was a painful wait with our sloppy inedible pizzas sat in front of us. I explained I wasn’t happy and was told it ‘was a shame’. Quite overpriced at £78 for four pizzas (two were margheritas) and three drinks (one had water) for the quality but the setting is great and I guess it’s somewhere that, if you catch it on a night with a good chef checking the quality - it could be a great place to eat (but still pricey in my opinion). If I could suggest an immediate improvement besides the pizzas - offer napkins as standard. Having to ask for something so basic (when getting a waitresses attention is challenging on a busy night) was an added irritation. If the guests have kids, they’re going to need napkins so take a punt and just offer them. Just seemed a bit ‘cheap’ to not have them ready to hand out as standard. Maybe they didn’t want them to blow away on the table but just hand them over on seating maybe 🤷♀️

Went here because the reviews had said how good the pizzas were! And they were amazing. The service was great and they were so welcoming of our two spaniels. We will be back for more pizza the next time we are in Crantock

When we stoped by there were only tables outside (undercover). It was a wet evening. We were offered a takeaway but chose to make the most of it and sat in. The table was moved so no dripping from the rain. We were given blankets and then we were given a hot water bottle each. It’s a cosy place, nice friendly atmosphere. Service was excellent, it was busy with takeaways. The staff were all friendly, approachable and explained to all customers about the wait time. Food was amazing, the Camembert starter 🤤 delicious. We couldn’t eat all our pizza (we ordered 1 each), so we took the rest home. Will definitely return next time we are in the area.

Close to the beach but wildly overpriced for really basic fare and their “artisan gelato” is disgusting. We tried three flavours and they were all terrible, but the chocolate was so atrocious we couldn’t finish it. Ask yourself when the last time you didn’t finish an ice cream was!

On holiday for a week and we visited 3 times. First time was for a drink only, second for an evening meal and thenthirdnfir Sunday lunch. On all occasions, service was friendly, attentive (without being in your face or false) and courteous. Our evening meal was a beautiful piece of grilled haddock in a very tasty sauce with vegetables and potatoes. We also ordered a side of truffled mac n cheese. It was absolutely amazing. Sunday lunch was probably the best I've ever eaten as a pub dining experience and I've eaten a fair few in my 59 years. We opted for the 3 meat version of beef, pork and turkey. The vegetable selection was interesting and perfectly cooked. The giant yorkshire pudding was delicious but for me, the roast potatoes and gravy were the jewels in the very large crown. There was no room for pudding but on our evening visit, we did share the amaretto chocolate torte, which was fantastic 😀. For the quality and portion sizes, I would say The Pityme Inn is excellent value for money.

Tasty - stopped in to grab a takeaway sausage roll and iced bun. Sausage roll was excellent and will be returning! Coffee was also good. Easy free car parking outside.

The staff were very friendly. The hot drinks were alright and the cakes were alright. They didn't rush us. The whole atmosphere was really nice and lovely. I didn't have to raise my voice to speak to my boyfriend who has a hearing impairment which is a hearing aid.
