Really wanted to like it as local to us but had a terrible meal. Soggy, undercooked pizzas, a young, inexperienced staff with no-one obvious in charge. Servers happy to have a giggle with each other inside when it was full outside yet we had to ask for cutlery & napkins after they brought the pizzas. £50 for 2 pizzas & 2 drinks - no problem if nice but tasted like poor quality ingredients. When asked how it was at when paying we discretely mentioned that food wasn't good. The response: "sorry about that but I don't go in the kitchen". Why ask then? It's in a great spot so will always be busy but no plans to return.

It is clear that Jam Jar is usually a fantastic place to go. Unfortunately, things did not go well when we were there. We had a pre booked table at 7.30. Once sat down and ordering we were told there would be an hour and a half wait for food. We got our pizzas nearly 2 hours later. However, in that time, not a single waitress came over to check on us or take a drink order. We had to go and find a waitress to see to us. There were plenty of waitresses, but most of them were doing nothing hanging out by the pizza oven, seemingly unconcerned about the confused customers. Adding to this, there was one person making the pizzas and cooking them, the pizza oven was empty more than it had a pizza in it. Not sure why the waitresses who had nothing to do weren't helping prep the pizzas, but instead were watching the chef and laughing or hiding behind doors so the customers couldn't see what was going on. Every single table waited nearly 2 hours for their pizza and barely ant of them got seen to in this time unless customers went and spoke to the waitresses themselves. The situation was very poorly managed. That being said, delicious pizzas when they did finally arrive.

Our visit here was simply wonderful. Dining in an enclosed cosy courtyard we shared a lovely pepoeroni pizza alongside two rocket and parmasan salads. Staff were friendly and attentive and made us and our dog feel very welcome. Highly recommended dining experience for proper pizzas. Booking advised as I can imagine word of mouth majes this little gem of a place very busy. Oh and the Scilian Lemon Cake with ice cream was amazing 👏

Lovely little cafe in Crantock, with an alfresco dining experience. We really enjoyed it on both occasions, the staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent as were the drinks. Really enjoyed the focaccia sandwiches and also the bacon rolls. Really delicious. The cream tea was great too. Cappuccino was just how I like it strong and creamy. We took our family back the next day too. Lots of the cakes and food is baked onsite and some sourced from the excellent gorse bakery. Really looking forward to returning later in the year and trying their pizza. The fresh cut flowers on the table were stunning too

Wanted to try Jam Jar for years after seeing great reviews! It definitely lived up! Pizza was cooked to perfection and an amazing size for the price. Definitely worth it 👍🏻 Only giving a 4 because the parking is hard (only thing putting me off coming again) and the service is pretty slow we waited 20+ minutes for the bill…

Lovely pizzas on a delicious traditional base with very generous, quality toppings. We only popped in for a takeaway, conveniently ordered through the handy takeaway hatch separate from the cafe. Appeared a bit hit and miss with their opening times though, found it quite tricky to find out when we could pay them a visit. Glad we did though.

It’s such a shame as this place is so well located and you can tell it could be great - but we had awful pizzas on our visit. We ordered 4 pizzas and they all came slopping in tomato sauce on a burnt base and you couldn’t cut a slice without all the toppings falling off. I had a ham and mushroom pizza - I read a review on here that says they taste like they use cheap supermarket ingredients for toppings - and I’d have to agree. Too much cheap chewy ham and mainly stumps of a large mushroom - which all fell off. Just so disappointing. It got so busy and the waitresses were nice but not attentive (which wasn’t something I minded as it was busy) but trying to settle the bill was a painful wait with our sloppy inedible pizzas sat in front of us. I explained I wasn’t happy and was told it ‘was a shame’. Quite overpriced at £78 for four pizzas (two were margheritas) and three drinks (one had water) for the quality but the setting is great and I guess it’s somewhere that, if you catch it on a night with a good chef checking the quality - it could be a great place to eat (but still pricey in my opinion). If I could suggest an immediate improvement besides the pizzas - offer napkins as standard. Having to ask for something so basic (when getting a waitresses attention is challenging on a busy night) was an added irritation. If the guests have kids, they’re going to need napkins so take a punt and just offer them. Just seemed a bit ‘cheap’ to not have them ready to hand out as standard. Maybe they didn’t want them to blow away on the table but just hand them over on seating maybe 🤷‍♀️

Went here because the reviews had said how good the pizzas were! And they were amazing. The service was great and they were so welcoming of our two spaniels. We will be back for more pizza the next time we are in Crantock

When we stoped by there were only tables outside (undercover). It was a wet evening. We were offered a takeaway but chose to make the most of it and sat in. The table was moved so no dripping from the rain. We were given blankets and then we were given a hot water bottle each. It’s a cosy place, nice friendly atmosphere. Service was excellent, it was busy with takeaways. The staff were all friendly, approachable and explained to all customers about the wait time. Food was amazing, the Camembert starter 🤤 delicious. We couldn’t eat all our pizza (we ordered 1 each), so we took the rest home. Will definitely return next time we are in the area.

Fantastic location. Food tasty but the fish pie that was a main course was the size of a starter.Good business if people need 3 courses but not the best way to keep customers returning.

£7 for a luke warm ciabatta with ice cold mozzerella in lumps with freezing cold tomato. Never again, I have been here 3 or 4 times and it is sadly always the same. Nice brownies, but sadly that is it.

I remembered reading great reviews on this place, so after a hard day at work, walking past the shop I decided to try it as a take away. I was so disappointed with the Katsu Veg curry. The taste was quite nice but the consistency was mush and most of it was made up of peas! Half of it in fact was peas and had the distinct reminder of school dinners.
