Only drank the beer which was very quaffable. Went with some mates on a Tuesday, relatively quiet.

Friendly staff and locals there was a good selection of beers available. The pub is nice and clean inside with a large outdoor seating and a play area for the kids. We didn't eat here, but the prices are comparable with other pubs in the area and looked to be good value.

The beef was tough as old boots and gravy was more like a broth (far too thin) plus some of the veg was cold. Plenty better places to have a roast than here. Wouldn’t recommend

Convenient, almost local hostelry, above average simple menu and reasonably priced.

We stopped here having past it going to Perranporth. The atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming, we found a table easily, went to the bar for drinks, the menu had a good selection to choose from. We ordered fish and chips and ploughman's. Both were excellent. Would definitely go back again.

Popped in with the family during our holiday last week. Was a special pie and pint night so turned up for 18:30 and already steak and ale was sold out. Only got a 1/2 with the pie which seemed odd and the lady with blond and curly hair could not have been more rude. Her attitude was horrid, she was rude, spoke down at you and made you feel you had done something wrong. Food was ok, but will take my busy elsewhere next time when we were trying to support a local pub. Never again, avoid this place due to that rude rude women!!!!

Most of the food was ok pub grub. However! Ham egg pineapple and chips was spoiled by the disgusting egg seen in the photo! I could hold it up between my fingers. It was actually very amusing, so although it could not be eaten, it amused quite a few people in the pub !

Amazing food and friendly service. Would visit again. Has a kids park and good sheltered outdoor seating.

Fitted us in last minute (with the dogs) even though they were busy and booked up. The food was tasty and was reasonably priced. Great service and great atmosphere, highly recommended

Very limited menu, unless you want burger and chips. I chose the fish and chips which was pretty mediocre - overall absolutely not worth the money. Would not recommend eating here.

We had Sunday lunch here for my hubby's birthday, and it was beautiful. The staff were attentive but not intrusive and the food was fabulous. Liked it so much we've been back tonight. Again the food was amazing - compliments to the chef, but we didn't feel as well looked after as we had on Sunday. No one asked us if the meal was OKand although we waited for our plates to be cleared before we left so we could say thank you, they never were, so we just got up. One of the servers must have walked past our table at least 4 times after we had finished but didn't once acknowledge us which I found quite poor to be honest.

Food amazing, always safer tk book of you can. Best thing he had ever eaten was my sons opinion of the buttermilk chicken with cheesy bacon fries.. fab food. Clean loos too if you're like me and that's important 😂

Return visit for impromptu dinner out! The staff, food and atmosphere were great. I had the vegan chilli nachos (with normal dairy - my preference) and my husband had Surf and Turf. We were both very happy with our meals which were a great portion size. Nachos can generally be quite boring/safe but the ones here were really exciting and you could tell the chefs but in a real effort with taste and presentation. Great choice of drinks. Will definitely be coming back again, thank you

Was ok, good for kids as can play in the outside play area whilst adults chat. Not much choice of soft drinks but good beer.

The Food here was Fantastic, great Service all meals at a vet reasonable price but you get great value with the portions and quality of the food … Great pub atmosphere and comfortable never rushed out . Will be going again and again ….

Food was okay, but service was very slow. We were table of 6 - do expect to wait a while with a large order but food took yonks.

Came on for dinner with my wife and children. We had to wait 45 minutes for our food even though it wasn’t that busy. The kids hotdog was way over cooked as was the kids burger. I had chilli nachos which had far too much salsa slapped on them, so much so that I couldn’t eat much of it. The bar lady didn’t seem very bothered when I informed her and we were still charged full price. We wont be coming here again, waste of money.

Not the best service unfortunately. Staff seemed pretty grumpy and just wanted to get you out the bar despite not being busy, certainly no friendly chit chat. Food was no more than average deep fried pub grub. Better pubs neary.

We are lucky enough to spend half our life in Cornwall. This is our local pub and over the last 12 months we have visited regularly. The food is excellent and now the menu has been expanded, I fully recommend the rack of ribs. The ribs filled the whole plate. The home made pies are beautiful and probably the best pies I have tasted and the Sunday Lunch is to die for. Lauren and Declan are lovely and over the months have made us feel very welcome and not to forget Jordan in the kitchen who constantly provides us with very tasty food. The place is dog friendly and there is a lovely children's play area in the garden. We are so glad to have a pub of this quality just down the road from us. It can get very busy so definitely would suggest booking.

Food was good ,I had ploughman's, would have liked a bit of chutney..

We booked a table for 10 (8 adults and 2 children) on a Thursday evening for my mums 60th birthday. We had to pre order which is fine, the table was booked for 5:30. when we arrived a couple minutes before the booking the tables weren't ready for us, which is also fine so we pushed the tables together so we could sit together as a family. Then a couple of the group went up to the bar to order drinks and the rest sat at the table. The staff immediately started bringing out the food, to my surprise I asked the staff not to bring out the food yet as we hadn't even had a drink yet and half the table were at the bar. He didn't listen to this and brought out the food! I asked to speak to the Manager who's response was I'm sorry we are short staffed and the table was booked for 5:30 so the food is serviced at 5:30 (I've never booked a table for a time and then eaten at that exact time!) with the food on the table and half the group still at the bar, I expressed my disappointment that we hadn't even sat down yet,let alone got a drink. The food was very average, I had a 5 bean chilli which had been microwaved for so long it was still steaming when everyone was half way through there food. It also only had 1 type of bean in the Chilli. The bill did not reflect our disappointment and we were still charged full amount for disappointing food and very poor service! unfortunately we stay on a site locally and will not be eating here again. much better resturants in the area. Visited 6/8/24. Food was not great. Chips were like sticks. Overcooked, extremely hard. Some people in my party waited over an hour as their order had been forgotten about. Other people in my party could not eat as they closed the kitchen - only 1 person in the kitchen. Very poor for high season

Had the best fish & chips that I can ever remember having in a pub restaurant. The other three members of my family also commented on how exceptional the food was. The staff were very welcoming and there was a nice atmosphere in the pub. Reasonably priced food, adequate quantity and good quality food.

Lovely greeting, quick service and excellent food. Ploughman’s lunch was really nice with fresh local ingredients. Burgers were cooked to order with very nice home made coleslaw on the side.

Here on holiday so was recommended to us , nice food and polite friendly staff, well worth a visit

Great food! The menu did not display GF food but on request the chef marked off all the meals that could be provided GF so that was great! The staff were attentive and the food was delicious! My only recommendation is that they provide a separate GF menu or at least modify the one they have with GF next to the meals as this would save the staff from having to disturb the chef.

As a pie lover this pub really hit the spot. Without a doubt the very best fully encased steak and ale pie I've had in 30 years. Ohhh and the beers good too. Give it a try you won't be disappointed

Went on Monday and tried to get a table. Lady at the bar said there were no tables as they had a big party coming... okay, no problem we went to leave and a couple offered to move over and share their large table. My husband asked the lady if this was okay and she was very rude and said no. Bad attitude and won't be returning.

I do not normally give 5* for pubs with food but I could not give any less as the staff were welcoming and friendly, the ambience was a mix of diners and locals all very buzzing, and the food was great. I will definitely return if I am in the area again. Well done.

Having had a pleasant meal here with friends, we booked again for a birthday celebration. It was a good choice as everyone enjoyed their food which was cooked nicely and well presented. The staff were friendly and really helpful. Lots of parking too. Will return soon as it was good to find somewhere out of town we all liked.

Stopped in on Friday evening with my wife as we were staying local for the weekend. Ordered a pizza, chicken goujons and some cheesy chips. We were told there was a small wait as there was only one chef on. TWO HOURS later and we had 3 burnt goujons and a pizza, the chips arrived shortly after the other food was finished. The dinner was matched in disappointment only by the Guiness. Mark and AVOID.

This was our first visit, staying up the road we had several good personal reviews. We were not disappointed it was for Sunday lunch. The food and service was fantastic. We've come down from Bristol and I can honestly say our local pubs have a long way to go to meet the New Inn standard. Highly recommended and will be going back

Was a chance visit to the pub and we were not disappointed. The food was amazing. With fantastic service.

My wife and I stopped here on the way back to our campsite near by. We were greeted with a very friendly smile and shown to our table. The pub itself is nicely decorated and has a very nice atmosphere to it . The food itself was amazing , my sea bass was cooked perfectly and along with the crushed potatoes, spinach and sauce , was one of the best plates of food I’ve eaten in some time. My wife had the sirloin steak , which again was cooked perfectly to order. We had a couple of drinks with our meal and were very impressed with the bill , total value for money. We would highly recommend you try The New Inn , you will not be disappointed. Compliments to the chef 👍

Went for a Sunday roast with the family. Friendly staff, very knowledgeable and helpful. We ordered the roast which has two meat options. Presentation was impeccable. Flavours and textures were amazing and hands down the best roast I’ve had for a long time. Highly recommend this place and we wish we found it at the start of our holiday not the end. I love this pub! Lauren and Declan are great and definitely pull pints with a smile and a bit of friendly banter, no doubt! I live in Newquay but often surf in Perranporth and I nearly always stop for food in this place on the way back. Really pleasant pub with good food and a quality pool table as well! I definitely recommend popping into this pub if you can.

We have been visiting for years. Upon arrival we were impressed with the new decor, and had seen establishment was under new management, but from then on our experience wasn't good. We ordered food, the place was very quiet, but still had to wait over 45 min for two burgers. When the Butter milk chicken burger arrived. I thought it was a beef burger, the outer coating was black. I made the bar person aware of this. He tried to say that's how it should be as the butter makes it black. I responded by saying had this before and never black. It was burnt, could see it had been in the fryer far too long. I preceeded to take the coating from the burger in order to eat. Bar staff returned to table and did say would replace, but felt this should have been offered as soon as he saw the state on the plate. Not make out it was how it should be. The attitude and customer service needs attention. Won't visit again and will make sure none of close family will be wasting their money either.

We visited this evening after not been for years. What a lovely atmosphere. The staff were warm and welcoming. We ordered drinks and the lady was lovely. We then ordered our food my husband had the special of the day which was mussels cooked in rattler cider with smoked bacon, ciabatta and fries and I had the fish and chips. The food was delicious. The portions were generous and cooked perfectly. The pub was reasonably busy with a mix of locals and tourists. The atmosphere was lovely there is a pool tables aswell as darts. I especially liked that the age groups mixed young people watching the football on a tablet along with some older gentleman and the landlady going around talking to the customers asking if there was anything they needed. Just a really great atmosphere and welcoming. Will definitely be visiting again when visiting cornwall.

I took the family for Sunday lunch and food was amazing the beef very tender the roast potatoes cooked perfectly as was the veg and the gravy. It’s now table service with your drinks the staff very friendly and attentive we didn’t have to wait for drinks. Lovely pudding Absolutely 5 star quality of food and service. Well done to all Seemed a friendly bunch of locals in as well

Disappointed to say the least. Returning local customers. first time experiencing the new ownership. The whole family left feeling disappointed. The food was nothing special, what they had left half the menu was sold out. General feel was bad service bad food and bad atmosphere won’t be returning. One thing I have to say about our visit they were consistent with the service consistently bad.

the roast dinner was good, however, the food was lukewarm the plates cold. The vegetable selection is very good, the meat was tender, the vegetable serving platter was hot, the rest cold. Added to this the temperature in the establishment was cold, I do not like to eat my lunch wearing a coat. Please warm your plates and the INN, all this contributes to a decidedly cold lunch.

Made to feel very welcome. Pies were delicious 😋. Would definitely recommend

We visited this pub for the first time yesterday and stopped for food. It was absolutely delicious so we popped in again this evening. Lovely decorated, friendly staff, great service, dog friendly, and did I mention how lovely the food is!?! We’ll definitely be back.

Am really disappointed with the pub, come in for a lovely meal with family, the food was amazing and so was the service we received from the staff. Only problem we had was getting to the bar as it seems the landlady was standing at the bar with a group of men completely off her face drunk.. How embarrassing is that for the pub? The staff are amazing and the food was outstanding. Only downfall was the pissed up landlady. after talking to some of the locals it seems this is a regular occurrence for her. She really does disappoint that pub and she should be very ashamed. One of the men that she was with let his dog lay at the entrance to the bar, so everybody including the staff had to step over it. she was very drunk and so was the people she was with very loud and very rude. I’m not sure I will return because of this.

Went in Saturday evening for a bite to eat! Good choice on the menu, made to feel welcome and the steak I had was perfectly cooked. Both meals were a good size and value for money!

Booked for 8 yesterday. We were immediately welcomed and shown to our table. The staff couldn’t have done more to accommodate us all. Incredibly friendly and helpful service from start to finish which for me is really important. Food was lovely and came out at the right time. Definitely recommend and would visit again! Thank you

What a gem of a find. Very warm welcome, reasonably priced and wow wow wow the homemade burgers we just had were the best ever, sublime, juicy, tasty and the freshest homemade relish….. thank you for a lovely lunch. We will be back.

Just popped in for a couple of pints till the rain stopped. I don't know what the food is like but they have a good selection of beers and ales. Not very busy at first but a few more people came in after me. Landlady was friendly as was the barman. I will have to come down one evening or over the weekend for another visit.

amazing sunday lunch we had the nut roast and it was homemade with a slight sweet chilli spice so tasty .. staff are top notch and super friendly couldn't rate it enough x looking forward to the next visit as it's so local to us x

Having recently moved to the area, myself and my wife went into the New Inn to make enquiries about booking Sunday Lunch for the upcoming weekend. The pub is under new ownership and have to say the staff were lovely. So friendly and accommodating. We decided to stay for lunch and a couple of drinks, and so glad we did. My wife had sausages and mash. Sounds like a basic meal but the meal that was provided was equivalent to top class restaurant food. I opted for the classic burger, which was top quality meat and very tasty. The chef seems to know what he is doing. Anyhow, we are both looking forward to Sunday Lunch and fully recommend a visit to the New Inn at Goonhavern.

Great pub with excellent food, price is very reasonable. Would recommend a roast and cheesecake. Phenomenal. Bonus for us was the play area for the kids!

My wife and I visited for a few drinks as we were staying at a holiday house close by. Nice little spot for a couple of drinks, we played pool and chilled

Nice place and very friendly staff Child's pasta was very nice but to much cheese on it. Had Pizza and it had a way to much cheese on it and very soggy in the middle, did not like and and left 3/4 of it

Not the most welcoming of places! We booked for 1:30pm Sunday lunch, service to begin with was friendly and nice and quick, the place was not too busy and the food came out fairly quick. The server had no clue what meat was what when serving us. Once we were served our mains, the staff did not attend to us any further, the staff were too keen to sit down to their own lunches. We over heard them cancelling any reservations after 2:30pm as they had run out. But they all sat down for a big roast themselves? We asked for coffee and the dessert menu when we finally did see a server, only to be told their coffee machine was broken and couldn’t offer any hot drinks, no kettle for even a cup of tea? Staff, really couldn’t be bothered at all, we felt more of a nuisance than a guest. Food was ok, presented nicely, but the service was very poor and unwelcoming!

Had Sunday lunch, meal was above average but the beef was as tough as old boots. Maybe it was old boots!

Passing by and stopped for a late lunch..i chose a homemade pie filled with plenty of chicken, with bacon and leeks..a nice selection of veg came with it and some really nice gravy..my husband had gammon which he enjoyed and mentioned that it wasnt salty..plenty of parking..
