The best restaurants in South West

Spent one night in Porlock, came here as looked inviting and the reviews were positive. Had a lovely pie meal on a freezing day, fresh food cooked to order. Lovely beef and horseradish pie, packed full, crunchy veg and generous helping of gravy... accompanied by a great glass of merlot. Really enjoyed my meal and appreciated the warm welcome after a long journey. Thank you!

Disappointed after previous visits. Food wasn't hot ,coleslaw had a skin formed over it long waiting time to be served and receive meal. Was quite busy maybe more staff needed.

A very welcoming pub!! Very busy even on a cold wet night in February as soon as we walked through the door it felt like a good locals pub and they welcomed dogs !!! We went in not booked and it was valentines!!! But we did manage to have a table super food - we rebooked again for later in the week - the food was outstanding - in fact it seemed like a high end restaurant inside a friendly local pub staff very friendly but were so very busy. I would recommend this place to anyone in charmouth -you will not be disappointed.

Great beach location overlooking the sea. Hot Chocolate and cakes/cookies are great. Unfortunately my Flat White coffee was terrible and so very bitter. Just had a couple of mouthfuls and had to leave what remained.

It was an excellent experience and we received a warm welcome. The food was sensational and the presentation was excellent, making everything look appetising, plus the service was very good. In addition, it is a comfortable, relaxing location.

Popped into the Moshan Island grill with my family on Thursday as I had heard wonderful things things about it from both my friends and customers. I was interested to find out just what they were all ranting and raving about... We were greeted warmly...

Would leave a zero if I could. Probably the worst chinese take away we've ever had. Smoked chicken NO CHICKEN. Just batter. Ribs just fatty. Even the chips are so dry, you need sauce or a drink to eat them. Would never come again.

Visited twice during a 6 week period in 2019 and had different meals each time. We returned to see if we had got something wrong however this turned out not to be the case. What food we had was enjoyable however there simply was not enough of it to justify the spend - therefore it can be deemed as expensive for what we had. The staff are nice and the place itself also nice however just wish it was better value for money than was found. Drinks are also overpriced. As an example, a dessert mousse which I though would be quite rich and in abundance left me wanting for more as there was simply an inch in a glass with more oaty toppings than mousse and in a couple of small spoons it was gone. It would have been nice to have more for the money. Maybe the name Bistro gives it away and should have realised that we were only going to get "Pretty food" and not wholesome filling food but we live and learn. Doubt we would return for a third time sadly. UPDATE AUGUST 2022 THE BRIDGE BISTRO IS NO LONGER OPEN OR TRADING

Now the best restaurant in the area for "down to earth" food at a a reasonable price. Friendly staff and good service, but remember everything is cooked to order, NOT a FAST food chain. Enjoyed by locals and visitors.

I've used this café several times over the years. Always a friendly welcome and a good selection of food. Prices are also reasonable which is more than can be said about a lot of the other eateries in Lyme Regis.

Every year we visit Woolacombe at least once or twice, we absolutely love it here. Bar Electric is always the highlight of our trip, and gets better and better every year. Amazing food, great beer, incredible choice of spirits and soft drinks, and most importantly, always served with a smile and given such fantastic treatment from the team. We can’t wait to come back again soon. The piggy dirty fries, the hot dogs, halloumi fries, and burgers are all INCREDIBLE! Worthy every penny and we always leave with very full bellies! Amazing Open Mic nights, and beautiful views overlooking Woolacombe Beach, and Lundy on a clear day. Can’t beat it. Thank you so much Bar Electric. We love you!

This is the second time we have come here for a meal and both have been truly excellent! We were so lucky to have the most glorious day and sat and had Sunday lunch outside. Reasonably priced and the food and service was honestly first class. Can’t wait to go back

My family and I have visited the Church House Inn a number of times and it is a fantastic pub for all seasons. There is always a cosy fire in the winter and the garden is a treat for when the sun is shining! The service is fantastic, very welcoming and friendly staff, and to top it all off the food is particularly excellent. Highly recommend as a destination!
