It is a wine bar, but I suppose wine can be classed as food?đ
Nice and cosy, small selection of very delicious wines. The Ochipinti orange wine was a revelation! Nice little selection of cheese to pair with the wines.
We were visiting the steam railway station in Minehead and thought weâd try the cafe there. Such a shame we did. The offerings are simple and thatâs okay but ÂŁ5 for a pasty that youâve just heated up seems extortionate, maybe just a little side salad to jazz this up to show some kind of effort rather than plonked on a plate? That aside it was quiet and every table was dirty. I was greeted by a polite young man so asked him to clean the table, he sauntered over with a tea towel draped over his shoulder and which he then proceeded to wipe our table with said clothâŠ. He returned to mauling his, I presume, girlfriend at the counter, I guess under the guise of training her how to use the coffee machine. As the coffee I received was insipid with clearly burnt milk and absolutely no form of latte art I do not know how he would be able to do this. Between constant canoodling and darting back and forth to grab a drink and crisps , which he ate at the counter, and licked his fingers, and you are correct those fingers went onto the coffee machine and onto cups, Iâm not sure if he was in fact working. Perhaps he is a volunteer but a thousand hygiene concerns were flagged up in front of my eyes, and with the unprofessional manner of groping his girlfriend and eating in front of me I felt sick. Please teach this young boy! Certainly no managers around to tell him. I wonât be returning!
Came in earlier this evening with a big order. Great, friendly service. Fish cooked freshly & tasted lovely. Treated the family as down from London. I'll be back next time I visit.
Thank you the meal was delicious đ
See you soon.
Well a super little place, lovely atmosphere with lots of plants pictures signs and proper dribbling candles âŠa little jewel âŠ.ordered a portobello mushroom pizza and a large glass of white wine. Cooked to perfection and very tasty indeed. Thank you to the host and staff bellissimo x
Great little cafe. (Please don't pass the word, or I won't a seat).
Last last visit, we three had :-
- Arabica eggs holedaise (Winner)
- Toastie (Runner-up)
- Lentil Soup (Thin - follower on - wooden spoon)
Called in here when we went for a walk along the coastal path.
Was very curtly told they stop taking food orders at 2.45pm, granted it was a few minutes before that time but wouldnât take a food order, wouldnât let us have Quiche from the display cabinet but reluctantly let us have a couple of pieces of cake, which was served to our table in 2 brown paper bags. Then brought food out for the table next to us on plates.
In summary, not very welcoming and tbh quite a rude attitude.
Wonât bother next time we walk there..
I organised a Christmas event with a buffet at the Anchor and Hope. All of my colleagues loved the venue. Many hadnât been before and said they will definitely come back!
The buffet was superb! There was a huge variety of food and plenty to feed us all and more!
Thanks so much to Reece and his team for making us feel so welcomed. Everyone keeps asking when we are going back!
Highly recommended.
