Nice food friendly helpful staff.

We stumbled across ‘The Stableyard’ and were so happy we did. We were very hungry and the restaurant was full, also hosting a wake in part of it. The staff were extremely friendly and although there was no room to sit down, we were able to order takeaway - we waited a short amount of time and the ladies then said we could sit down as a table had just left. I had the Mac n Cheese, this was absolutely delicious and exactly what I needed. Cheesy, melting goodness! My husband had the special pie of chicken leek and ham with veggies, gravy and mash. Again, this was absolutely wonderful with plenty of gravy and he especially loved the pastry and big chunks of delicious chicken. We will definitely be going back and will book ahead next time to ensure a table - we don’t want to miss out! Lovely staff and service. Thank you.

Lovely place to have a cup of tea and a cake.

Booked Christmas lunch for 4 of us. My mushroom starter was very tasty, my turkey main was hot and came with all the trimmings and a good selection of veg, all hot. The Xmas pudding dessert was very tasty as well followed by coffee and mince pie. There was good friendly service throughout, no noisy kids when we were there, all at at very reasonable price and some interesting shops to look around afterwards. Highly recommend.

The breakfast menu l found to be ABIT disappointed as the large breakfast as the eggs were over cooked and not runny as we had a party of 20+ people and the baked beans came in a large bowl for a table of four to share and was so hot it was microwaved to high a temperature. Sorry but I won't be coming back as I felt it was not value for money

Had the pie veg and chips special. It was so delicious - great quality ingredients - hearty and warming food. Great vibe here. We cannot wait to go back.

Had another lovely Sunday roast meal at the Stableyard restaurant in Broadwindsor. Some of our party had pork and others had chicken, lovely hot food, prompt service. Thank you to Linda, Sam and all the staff. Also, thanks for keeping us supplied with your delicious cakes. Next on the agenda is to have the cooked breakfast.

Lovely place but biscuits served with coffees when we’d already said we were allergic to gluten. Not once, but twice …

Food was fine. Service was variable, with one young waitress impatient and disinterested but middle age waitress calm, friendly and efficient. We were told of a slower food service because the chef was not feeling well. We changed our order from a cooked meal to cheese scones; reasons being our concerns about an ill chef preparing our meals and uncertain about how long we would have to wait. Scones were nice and our friend who went ahead and ordered Mac n cheese received his meal in about 20 mins. He said his meal was good.

Lovely cozy restaurant, delicious food and attentive staff. We've been here numerous times and it's always delightful.

Food was very fresh, had quiche and ‘salad’. Was very disappointed with the salad as don’t class a pile of leaves a couple of cherry tomatoes and a couple of tiny pieces of cucumber a salad!! So many other components could be included, especially considering the price.

Friendly atmosphere, attentive staff and good food makes for an excellent choice for Sunday Lunch. A wide and varied menu provides choice for all palates. It was reassuring to have all dietary requirements fulfilled. Nothing seemed too much trouble.

We had a Sunday roast dinner here for my 50th birthday. The roast beef was absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection! Good selection of vegetables and cauliflower cheese. Couldn't fault this place at all. Highly recommended 👌

Over the years my views of toasted sandwiches and quiche have been jaded by one too many tired coffee shops and supermarket cafes. This place is a clear breath of fresh air. The homemade quiche was splendid, and the portions generous. Just the right amount of salad and coleslaw, again homemade. The toasted sandwiches are equally good, with a proper amount of filling. Wonderful place to eat, and we may have to come back later on in our holiday!

A lovely place to meet up and enjoy the exquisite cuisine, in beautiful surroundings. A welcoming and hospitable staff ensure that your stay is enjoyable. All the ingredients are fresh and more often local.

Excellent service, friendly staff, excellent food. Went for Sunday lunch good choice on menu plus specials board. Had small pork loin, got more than I get at most restaurants with a standard portion, good choice of deserts. Seating available outside for nice days. Essential to book for Sunday lunch as very popular. Caters for disabled, entrance from front via steps inside and out. I am in a wheelchair easy entrance via ramps through shop. Would recommend for quick coffee and cake or full meal.

A real gem. A little out of the way from the coast in Broadwindsor and well worth a delightful drive to visit. Super food and very friendly service. You need to book for lunch. Part of the Redlands Yard artisan complex. Adequate parking.

Possibly the nicest Sunday roast dinner that I've had in a long time. Lovely venue with lots of natural light. Attentive but discreet staff. Highly recommended.

Wow wow wow!! The best lunch! The steak pie was absolutely delicious, with melt in the mouth chunks of steak. Luxury hot chocolate was the best hot chocolate I've ever had. And the coffee was smooth and delicious. We were very full after a big plate of food, but the cakes were way too tempting to resist so took some to go. Absolute local treasure! Great menu from local produce. Thank you!

Visited today with my elderly Mum & thoroughly enjoyed it. We were made very welcome by polite staff, & although every table was reserved (we hadn't booked), they made room for us so as not to disappoint. Both had a lovely Pork, Leek, Mustard, & Cider casserole which we both enjoyed very much. Came with a great portion of 5 different vegetables & lovely new potatoes. All the staff were consistently polite, attentive, & prompt. All in all, a very pleasant lunch. We will be going back.

We weren’t planning on eating here, but we had a quick look at the specials board and thought it sounded quite nice. It took a little while for anyone to come over to seat us but they did seem very busy. We luckily got a table for two and as we hadn’t booked, we weren’t able to get a Sunday roast which wasn’t a problem as we had seen things we liked on the specials board. we both went for the pork, mustard leak and cider casserole, I went for roast potatoes with mine. When it came out, I also had three roast parsnips with it and also a dish with cauliflower cheese and another with four types of vegetable in for us to share. The casserole was in a dish on my plate, so I poured it out and added the vegetables. Wow what a plate full. I couldn’t fault any of it, the pork was cooked beautifully and tasted lovely and they was so much it. Also for a small place they had a good selection of ciders.

Broadwindsor Indoor Bowls Club Christmas Do! What a great night we had at the Stableyard in Broadwindsor. What an asset to the village. Linda Paget and her team made us feel very welcome. All of us greeted with a glass of Prosecco and Canapés, what a treat! The atmosphere was warm and friendly the whole restaurant decorated perfectly for Christmas with a fantastic tree as you come in. The food was excellent lots of it too! Starters, mains and desserts. Great variety of vegetables, I had the Turkey but those who had Fish raved about it. Mince pies and coffee to end! Don’t know about carry out but I needed carrying out! Thank you Linda and your team.

There's no more I can say. Everything was perfect, my family and I go there regularly.

We came to lunch on the 12th/12/2023, what a lovely lunch and atmosphere with the Christmas lunch parties going on around us ,can't fault the food it was delicious and the staff couldn't do enough to make us welcome, even though the restaurant was very busy ,we will definitely be back

Went with a bunch of 7 of us 4 adults and 3 kids for Sunday lunch. Very nice atmosphere and lovely selection of cakes on counter. 2 of us opted for roast which were delicious and 2 for seafood platter whilst kids had there own menu. Food was delicious, hot and good portions. Puddings were heavenly I opted for sticky toffee and it was gorgeous. Defo coming back makes a nice change to see staff smiling.

All 4 of us are gimping. There was no pie or gammon, orange and chocolate tart or crumble

My husband and i ordered a Big Breakfast , and a small one. They came out looking very presentable and then we were disappointed. Everything on the plate other than the sausage were cold. The tomatoes were hard, the poached egg was cooked to perfection, but only just warm. What a disappointment for us both.

I've visited the Stableyard Resturant many times, it never fails to impress me. I took my mum for a lunch, she had scampi, I have a beautiful chunky leak and potato soup. Staff very frinedly, chatt and attentive. The resturant was pretty full with equally happy customers enjoying a spot of lunch. We will return very soon.

Really unfriendly staff today, grump with each other and public. Left with out ordering as did not feel welcome.

After a lovely walk with our dogs we decided to stop off for a drink at the stableyard knowing dog where not allowed in , we sat outside I was after a hot chocolate and my husband a coffee and some fresh water for the dogs. On walking in was met with a rude waitress saying you can’t bring that in here I will come out , it was the bowl for the water for the dogs I guess there must of been a tap outside or something but with the rude waitresses attitude we left. I quess us dogs walkers and holiday makers are not welcome !!

Had a cream tea which was huge and very, very good. Lashings of clotted cream and jam. Service was excellent.

Wow fantatsic find. food picture says it all surroundings and staff are fantatsic we were camping locally from traveling from Liverpool and we decided to have a little walk and found this place and we are so glad we did we returned for lunch and of course a scone to take out and then returned again for Sunday lunch day before the long journey home I booked a table via email to ensure we had a table. The food is freshly prepared and well cooked the scones are to die for and didn't leave each time unless we took some back with us. It is well priced, drinks very reasonable, lovely friendly staff lovely environment well decorated and to top it off the food is fantastic.

Food was lovely and they cater for dietary needs which is good. Good selection of locally brewed ciders.

We've eaten here three times and I would highly recommend it. The cream tea was especially good. We will definitely come again.

Very unwelcoming experience locals to the area and have well behaved elderly dogs. We used to eat in the conservatory but dogs appeared to be banned now and we were banned too. Basically bit ridiculous when most restaurants in the area understand this is the country and most people welcome dogs

We arrived at 12.30 without booking and took the last table. Lovely surroundings, well furnished. We both had the Cheese ploughman’s which was tasty and good quality. My husband had cheesecake for dessert, which was very good. Good choice of drinks. Only thing that was a negative for us was that the meal took too long due to slow service. We waited for everything and the gap between finishing our mains and ordering dessert was 20 minutes and then waited another 10 minutes before it came. As we had ordered only cold food we would have hoped that it just needed plating and serving. A meal that should have taken 1 hour max actually took 1 hour 45 minutes.

An excellent Sunday lunch, chef to be congratulated. Cosy atmosphere. To me a waitress/waiter is one of the most important jobs in a cafe/restaurant as they are the interface between owner and customer or between chef and customer. That said, one or two of the young waitresses were a tad green and lacking in the finer points. However I would go back in a shot. Tip - leave room for desert!

Popped in for afternoon coffee and cake after a trip to Lyme Regis. Recommended.

Five of us , all ages, had a delicious lunch. We ordered the ‘boards’ and shared them. The puddings and cakes were generous too. Perfect! The staff looked after us so well. We left feeling we had had a real family treat.

The food was delicious, but it was a shame the lady who seemed to be in charge was very grumpy, snappy, and unhelpful. The lady in the gift shop and sewing shop were so helpful and friendly.

Welcoming, friendly staff with delicious home cooked food and an amazing array of cakes! Lovely to sit in the conservatory warmed by the winter sun enjoying a glass of wine. The independent shops adjacent are a bonus too for a little last minute Christmas shopping.

Food and drink was lovely and fairly priced. But our hot good came out before we even had our hot drinks. There seemed to be enough staff but apparently a very slow hot drink machine.

Had a fabulous catch-up lunch with friends. We had a couple of sharing platters which were absolutely delicious (and very filling!) in lovely surroundings with very friendly, professional staff. Would highly recommend the Stableyard for ambience, staff and glorious food.
