The ladies in the Cove Cafe are lovely! Their toasted sandwiches are beautiful and the tea in tea pots is appreciated. It's a real treat on a day out in my favourite village 🌺

We only went to the cafe for a cream tea whilst on holiday. Would rate it 5 stars, it was fresh and tasty. The dog was allowed in too and offered treats. Staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Didn't realise what a lovely village Pentewen is. We will sure to visit next year when in Cornwall again.

A very welcoming and homemade atmosphere. The Cornish Cream Tea was delicious, with perfectly light scones. The coffee was also brilliant, and the staff are very friendly and accommodating . I was very surprised when I went to write a review and saw some of these other ones! I personally don't think the prices were too bad considering the quality of the food and drink, and the fact that its still holiday season. I have seen a lot worse prices in and around Cornwall recently. Anyway, I found it to be a lovely place to get coffee and a cream tea- we will definitely be coming back!

Third year we have visited the Cove Cafe!! Always a warm welcome and Mimi our dog loves the treats from the very friendly owner and staff! Will come back everytime we are in the area. The BEST fresh scones, coffee is amazing and the overall service is second to none at a very reasonable price! Any negative reviews left are questionable as its an absolute hidden gem!!

The poor deluded owner seems to think everyone should wait endlessly for an adequate cup of tea and a scone with pre- packaged jam and cream at a somewhat elevated price simply because the inadequate exterior seating area overlooks the "village square" which is neither quaint nor scenic, complete with rotting public benches. I only hope the bed & breakfast at the venue offers better value than the cafe. Oh, don't trip over the dog blocking the doorway if you venture past the threshold!

Premium prices paid for an average cream tea. The service wasn't great either and the exterior seating was shabby and somewhat restricted for space.

We stopped by whilst on the South West Coast Path. Milkshakes were £7-8. Carrot cake £4.50 a slice. Ice cream £3.50 one scoop £5.50 for two for takeaway (think same price for eat in). It seemed good quality but we felt this wasn't brilliant value but appreciate it's in a relatively tucked away nook off the main coastal path.

Nearly £8 for two instant coffees: never again!! What makes it worse is that I specifically asked what types of coffees they had, and was told they did all types and they listed flat whites etc etc. I thought it was strange when they didn’t use the coffee machine behind the counter but disappeared somewhere out back to make our flat whites. They were scalding hot so most likely made with boiled milk (there was zero froth), and they were most definitely instant coffee. Not a happy bunny.

We moved to Cornwall in August and found this lovely little cafe which is close to where we are now living. Such a lovely place which welcomed us and our border collie who is now thoroughly spoiled. The coffee is really, really good. Try to visit two or three times a week and always get the same welcome. We have also had lunch several times and the sandwiches are huge. If you don’t like dogs probably best to find somewhere else as the staff absolutely love dogs. Thank you Alison and Tracey.

Nice cafe, nice welcome. But Horrified when waitress/ owner ? Made a great fuss of two dogs in the cafe giving them both a treat out of a plastic box full of dog biscuits by hand and fussing them only to then bring my food and drink/cutlery etc out without washing her HANDS !!!!! This is the very Basic health and safety rules ( not that you should ever be fussing animals in a food establishment) and very dangerous way of passing on germs. A lovely place that sadly I'll never visit again.

Having been here earlier in the year we thought we'd pop in again for a coffee after a stroll on the beach. I had looked at Trip Advisor earlier in the day and had chuckled at the rant the owner had left a previous reviewer, and thought there may have been a cross wire in communication.....I was wrong! We had to initially knock on the door as it was locked (the door sign stated they were open). The lady took our order and went through to prepare our drinks. What happened next was the stuff of comedy! Another lady came through from the kitchen area (I'm assuming this second lady was the owner) and then started shouting at the original lady because she couldn't read her writing! By all means have that discussion with staff if there is an issue, but do it away from customers! All in all the coffee was food, the tea cakes were lovely and everything was clean and nice!

I visited the cove whilst on holiday and can honestly say its probably the worst experience i have had. I was greeted by a lovely young lady who asked what we would like. I asked her a few questions about the menu which she was unsure about and said she would check with the kitchen, she then returned very flustered and upset with the response from the chef. Long story short the chef had made the waitress cry with her very bad attitude and unprofessional approach to staff. I was appalled when the chef came out and i asked her a question, her response was it states what it is in a very unfriendly manner. She then shouted at the waitress and the waitress was crying in front of me, needless to say i sincerely hope the waitress finds herself another job away from bullies who really have no skills in customer service. Obviously i decided not to eat there and certainly wont be returning.

We found the cove cafe after walking down to the village from our camp site. We enjoyed sitting outside with the dogs watching the world go by. On our first visit we had crab sandwiches and cream teas (we were on holiday!) and on the second visit, cream tea and prawn sandwiches. On both occasions they were just what we needed and we enjoyed them immensely. The dogs were made welcome with dog treats and fuss. Well worth a visit and if you have time.....stop and have a cream tea.....jam on first!

Wednesday 19th June 2019, we went to visit Pentewan Harbour which had once been a china clay port. The clay was shipped by rail to the docks and then put on ships to be sent all over the world. Unfortunately, the harbour became silted up over the years and so the use of the harbour was discontinued. This left a very quaint and picturesque village with lots of fishermen’s cottages by the sea. These have now become holiday homes.

It's always a real treat to visit The Cove Cafe, and not just for the cream tea. I have been visiting Pentewan for over 19 years with family and friends, and The Cove Cafe is always something we look forward to and a must do while we are there (not just once but multiple times). The ladies are always friendly and hospitable, and happy to cater for larger groups (which we know doesn't always make things easy!). The cream tea is a personal group favourite, with warm scones and plenty of jam and cream. I'm no stranger to a cream tea across Devon and Cornwall and I can honestly say this one wins overall! The atmosphere is also another winner - whether you sit inside or out - where you can overlook The Square. Great attention to detail and love the interior too. Thank you again for a lovely visit, see you again next year if not before!

What a lovely cosy little café is The Cove, really friendly staff who made time to stop and have a chat and a laugh with their customers. We have holidayed in Cornwall since the late sixties, sampling many "cream teas" and can honestly say that the one we enjoyed here was most certainly one of the best - home made scones (still warm)and both the strawberry jam and clotted cream were locally sourced. You have missed a real treat if you don't manage to pay them a visit.

Read a travel book a while back, about a coastal walker pooing in for a hedgehog ice-cream, made from Cornish clotted cream and was advised to comeback in the morning for their sausages cooked in clotted cream. We tried the ice-cream recently and can't recommend them enough, now need to loose a other stone and possibly a heart bypass..but i will be back! Try to be clever ( out of hours /season or walk down hill) if using carpark, as gets expensive if just going for an ice-cream.

An excellent choice for our lunch with friends. Beautifully appointed and a lovely lounge area on arrival which is ideal for pre-lunch drinks and menu browsing. The menu was excellent and we were able to have some starters as mains and vice versa to accommodate our appetites. The food was fantastic and very good quality. One of our group commented that the mussels were possibly the best he had ever tasted. A good selection of beers, wines and spirits accompanied the menu perfectly and we had a thoroughly enjoyable lunch.
