Terra Nova Cafe Devonport in Plymouth

Terra Nova is my favourite cafe in Plymouth - best place to relax, have a munch and spend time with your mates iver delicious coffee and yummy high quality food - all served with a smile! Thank you!

It's a nice looking place based at the corner of Cumberland gardens. Its table service with a small amount of tables inside. It took a while for order to be taken and a while to receive. I feel it needed maybe to staff and not one. And could do with being a bit more cheerful on the service bit. The coffee and cake were quite nice. I will go back again as it could have been an off day. And will alter view if needed. Limited parking in area. Access if your disabled but space inside might make it slightly awkward if you are in a wheelchair. But they would probably accommodate you if required.

Always a friendly welcome. Food is amazing and the staff are the best.

The wife and have just popped in for coffee and cake and it was lovely, a calming atmosphere with good service. Toilets are clean and presentable. The cafe is the Terra Nova. Devonport.

I came here and had a BTL it was one of the best I have ever had, however they put a werid dressing on the side salad that wasn't very nice. The staff are all really friendly and the whole place is really put together. I would 100% you come here. The food is on the pricey side but it's good quality and really nice!

The ladies that work here are always smiling and polite, the food is excellent and the coffee is top quality. Love this place.

Can be a bit of a wait to be served after being asked to take a seat, otherwise a great place to stop for coffee for certain.

Perfect spot for a relaxed light Saturday lunch. Highly recommend the super salad - truly a rainbow of ingredients & the CPAT toastie looked yum. Staff are great - friendly and helpful. Love this place!

I used to love the place to be honest. The staff are great. However, after being served SEVERAL undercooked main meals, they really need to employ a competent chef or cook.

Turned up as party of 7 to very busy cafe and staff accommodated us immediately. Our waiter Tom was so friendly and professional. Food was so delicious and fresh. Thank you team Terra Nova!!

Lovely staff,, but service was extremely slow. Very busy (I had to get a chair from another table). Also, quite noisy, so not recommended for people with hearing difficulties.

A regular venue for us expedition planning for our Global Warrior Project. As with Rockets and Rascals the Climbers Breakfast is by far the best quality and value plant based brekkie in town!

Loved the quirky and relaxed vibe of the place. Service was really outstanding, coffee and cake was yummy ... The only negative was the table was very sticky to the touch and even after a wipe, it remained tacky and sticky which was a shame....

Exceptional coffee really tasty and a great atmosphere

Had a breakfast here wasnt bad but the banana milkshake was almost a fiver and it was like when you have a nesquick with too much powder, staff friendly though

Nice could do with cozy seats, tad bit pricey and takes faar too long for food waiting half an hour for toast with avocado on top..wasn’t even busy if I new it would take that long I wouldn’t have ordered as didn’t have time else I would have got something bigger..

Visited here for a late lunch catch up in was not disappointed service amazing, great atmosphere and fantastic food. I had the toaster and my friend hand the salad it was big she couldn't finish it and she ask for it to box up and go which wasn't any trouble great place. We will be back.

A must visit for anyone checking out the Captain Scott memorial nearby - it is named after his ship, and the decor features lots of photographs from the expedition! And they do a great iced chai :)

Stopped for brunch after a swim at Mount Wise. Food was really tasty and a good size portion, we had avo on toast and magic beans on toast. The vegan banana bread was delicious too. Shout out to the friendly and welcoming staff, in particular Dan. We will definitely be back very soon.

Went here for breakfast, the food and coffee was amazing! We loved it so much we went back the next day for lunch! Claire was super friendly and hospitable. Definitely recommend a visit :)

Stopped by with my family of 6 plus 2 dogs on route home from Cornwall. Absolutely outstanding food, all came at once, even with individual requests. Dogs were hugely welcomed and we loved the setting, very gastro. Would definitely return if we are ever in this neck of the woods again. Thanks guys!

Not for me. It took nearly half an hour to get a coffee even though it was half empty. At the end I had to wait another 10-15 minutes at the till to pay my bill. I've wanted to try it for a while but wouldn't go back.

Very nice historic hotel conversion with a good selection of brunch choices. Excellent cortado! Very friendly and efficient staff. We would certainly come here again.

Regularly having our breakfast here on Wednesday morning. We now start with the regular cappuccino and an Americano with cold milk. Followed by breakfast of Pilgrims breakfast for my wife and the banging stack for me. The food is excellent and just what you need to get you going for the rest of the day. The service has always been first class, friendly and caring.

Cheerful friendly service, great food. Brunch/lunch, really enjoyed it, also have a points reward system for free drinks/food for frequent flyers.

Very pleasant, themed on the local connections to Scott of Antarctic fame. Good meeting spot. Docked one star on food tho' what we had and saw was good, range a bit limited. No qualms about going there again.

This is well worth the visit, the cakes are amazing, the staff are so friendly, we will definitely be coming back! It's a lovely spot to spend a bit of time people watching, close to the park, really really recommend a visit.

I live next to terra nova cafe and if your ever in Devonport please visit there because not only are the stuff they sell yummy the staff are the most welcoming people I have ever met they have a smile on their face everytime I'm in there. So please go and visit the cafe you won't be disappointed.

Wish I could put more stars on this place. Everything from the taste of the coffee and cakes to the service and music choice on the speakers is top notch. Love coming here to wind down and get some work done. Cheers guys!

What a fab little find! Popped in today after my sister drove past recently and thought it looked nice from outside. Coffee was incredible 😍 we had breakfast which was cooked to perfection and delicious. They even made something different for my fussy toddler. Super friendly staff, really clean and welcoming... oh and very reasonable prices too. I'm collecting points now because I'll be back again soon!

This was a treat as I only live just down the road and didn't know how nice the cafe was. I've been to the sister cafe in Plymstock but the Devonport one is much larger, lighter and brighter. Good choice of light bites and cakes and dog friendly which was great for me and my puppy. Nice visit on a Sunday afternoon

Tasty food and good coffee available at Terranova Plymouth. Great little stop whilst on a cycle around town.

Walked in went to order at the till but the owner told us to sit down table service will come over and take our order. 20minutes later still nothing so I was staring at the owner for a good 1 minute until he then realised and told the waitress to come over to us, by that point I was already on my feet and walked out. It wasn't even busy.... shocking customer service. Which is a shame because I've been here many of times and when the owner isn't there things are brilliant. Wa***r!

Often, come here for a bite to eat normally breakfast. Food is good, great coffee, and friendly staff food ranges from normal English to vegan options, having both are great value and tasting.

Popped by for breakfast on a Saturday morning after previously visiting for lunch. The setting is nice and the staff are really friendly. There were some great choices on the veganuary menu, although the main menu now seems a little limited. Apparently the pilgrim breakfast was nice although nothing exceptional. Prices were reasonable, bordering on slightly above average. The free drink before 10am offer is a bonus. I’m sure I’ll pop by again in the future.

Stopped for a coffee, wish we hadn't... two small coffees for £7.50 is taking the mick.
