Great food and just a proper pub all round.

Fabulous food, eat here dozens of times, lunch, evening always great food, fantastic service.. Great value for money.

I cannot recommend this place enough! Last week I brought my 7 & 1 Yr old alone after a full day of mum duties feeling strung out, I just wanted a cold beer, not to cook and to maybe even see some of the euros without having to multi task with toy trucks and barbies at my feet. I was greeted by the friendly owner at the door, the place was packed as you can imagine but it still had that welcoming atmosphere. Through my flustered brain and just wanting to escape the house I didn't even think of the fact there was most probably no tables available (which there wasn't as clever folk book ahead) However, the bar staff did their upmost in trying to make us comfortable and once the owner got wind of this he opened up a booth for us in the garden area. Then I thought oh no stress number 2 the kids will be waiting ages for their food..nope! He asked our wonderful waitress Maisie to take our orders straight away, which she did, and constantly checked in on us, offered us more drinks on multiple occasions, brought us out a big jug of water without us even having to ask even though this was probably one of their busiest evenings of the year. The food came out within half an hour, great portions and absolutely delicious! Happy kids, happy mum. This place has the perfect balance of family friendly but also catering to adults without children, different areas inside to cater to each. All the staff had a smile on their face and nothing was too much even being absolutely rushed off their feet. I have told anyone that will listen to visit and I certainly can't wait to come back again. Thank you so so much.

We don’t know the area but chose this restaurant as it was close to where we needed to be and had good TripAdvisor ratings, and it took dogs on the tables outside and undercover. I would say it is a local pub in the middle of a large housing estate but don’t let the looks deceive you as the guys that run this place knocked out some 5* food with 5* service. I have pork belly roast, which as so well cooked, with lots of crispy crackling, the gravy and potatoes were so tasty and well season. Veg was fresh and well cooked. My daughter had the nut roast which she thoroughly enjoyed and was a good size. My husband had the triple roast, which again was amazing. The lady serving us was very friendly and very attentive, couldn’t do enough. We will definitely go back

Ordered mighty mixed grill and honey roasted belly pork the food was excellent. Came hot, steak cooked as asked. Worth the money. Certainly after thinking it might be a tad expensive. The staff are so friendly,helpful and welcoming. Definitely will be going again

Preordered lunch which eventually arrived 1 hgour after our booked arrival. I had Lasagne and when i received it i realised why it was an hour late, they needed that long to burn the living daylights out of it. The lasagne sheets were too crunchy to eat and the very sparing meat was scorched to the bottom of the dish. It was a relief it was such a small portion as i only had to try and salvage a fork full.

Only drank here at a function but service was friendly and there was a good atmosphere.

Visited at the weekend to attend a party in my wheelchair, the pub is accessible and staff were friendly and helpful. Sadly, we were informed by the bar staff that the pub doesn't have a disabled toilet, despite the pubs website stating they are "fully prepared for any disabilities." This meant we had to leave the party early as I needed the loo, very disappointed to find a lack of disabled toilets, and as such, I wouldn't recommend to other disabled visitors.

We ordered a meat and fish “trust the chef” platter and it was so much food! You don’t know what you are going to get but we knew everything would be amazing! The platter had: •Soy & Sesame pork belly bites •Scallops & chorizo on a bed of apple purée •King prawns in a curry sauce •Lamb sausage with sweet potato honey purée •Chicken wrapped in bacon •Baked teriyaki Salmon on a bed of coconut rice •Cheesy focaccia bread •Steak slices We also had a side of rosemary fries and cheesy garlic bread to mop up all the yummy sauces! For dessert we shared a chocolate brownie 😋 Everything was stunning! Some of the best scallops I’ve ever tried! Our waitress was fantastic too. So attentive and friendly. We felt really welcome 🥰 We will be back to try the rest of the menu ❤️🙌🏻

We are visiting Plymouth for our son to visit a friend imagine our surprise when we found this lovely little pub. The decor is wonderful, the atmosphere is calming and friendly, the seating is very comfortable and they have a seat to suit anyone. The most amazing and wonderful part of the whole experience was the star quality food I had a Teriyaki rice bowl my husband had the homemade pie of the day made by an amazing chef Shan (sorry if it’s spelt wrong) every part of both meals was heavenly, to top it all off we had the most wonderful service we have ever had and we eat out a lot when away down south. I whole heartedly recommend this sparkling gem to anyone that’s in the area.

For a small out the way pub we could not have wanted better. On Sunday we planned on going out for lunch and found our usual place closed. After ringing around we tried them and they said yes. On arrival we were greeted with a friendly smile and shown to our table. It was a little quirky in a good way with several different style surrounding it. We had a good choice to choose from. Even our 4 year could choose from something other than the Sunday roast menu. The food was first class and the portions were more than enough. I am that impressed I am thinking about having our Xmas Work do there.

We was looking for a Sunday roast in Plymouth and came across this one, let’s just say we will 100% be returning. The food was excellent and the service was great, Sam and Sammy were very welcoming and attentive, couldn’t ask for anything more, thank you!

I’ve been to the Windmill 5 times over the last 4 weeks. The food is amazing. My favourite is the Teriyaki Rice bowl ❤️ it’s absolutely delicious. Great service in lovely surroundings.

Great place, my 3 year old daughter loves it here, usually quite a few people here which speaks for itself, food is great quality, would highly recommend this place! Definitely reccomend the smash burgers!! Staff really good here too, very friendly

Often visit with friends great place to have a beer and bite to eat with a few games of pool. Also have restaurant if you want a chilled out area sometimes

Really impressed with the Sunday roast - much better than a standard pub roast! The pub is split into two sides with the restaurant being separate. It’s been nicely done with cosy booth seating. The roast was a huge portion for a good price. The potatoes and Yorkshire pudding were great and the veg was tasty. Our waitress was really friendly and we were sorry we didn’t have any cash to leave a tip! Highly recommend.

Great staff and amazing food. We were made very welcome by our hostess Liz. We used the sheltered and heated outside area which is really nicely set up and very comfortable. What's not to like?!

This was my first time visiting and it was great. The last who served us was really chatty, friendly and made you feel welcome. There is alot of choice and the menu is different to other pubs you would go to which is even better. I had the crispy chilli chicken with rice and it was really tasty, full of flavour and a huge portion. I liked the quirky different coloured booths and the different chairs around the tables. This is somewhere I would recommend and definitely visit again.

A big group of us met at the windmill to celebrate a friend leaving to have a baby. It was about 12 of us eating lunch (pre ordered as large group) all the food came out hot and delicious. The staff are friendly and polite...

Wow just wow. Tonight (20/7) We had the fish/seafood sharing board for 4 of us. It was absolutely amazing, every single mouthful and we couldn't finish it we were all so full up. Wow! An incredible secret hidden away in the middle of a housing estate. An astonishing gastronomic oasis. I'd heard much about this place and seen the eye-popping photos. I said I wanted to come next time I was down. I had The Trust The Chef Platter for two, some of which I shared with the rest of the party. A gorgeous variety of flavours cooked to perfection. So glad I finally visited. Possibly by chance, my Platter was low carb. This is a great place to go if you're keto or carnivore. It's going to be a while until I can go again so please go there and keep it open! You won't be disappointed.

Wow, just had a great sirloin steak, served with skin on fries, mushroom, tomato and really crisp onion rings. Steak better than Miller and Carter and cooked to perfection. Table service was great. Great food at reasonable prices. Will definitely use again.

Food and service was spot on, food was fresh and well cooked. We like it quite so sat outside in your sheltered area which is very clean and cosy and warm with the heaters on (happy misses 🤣) and a great atmosphere inside if you like it a bit more louder. A great place and definitely look forward to our next visit (next time with friends)

Area that this place is located looks a bit on the rough side (first time in Plymouth so please take that with a pinch of salt). This place is split into 2, one part is a pub with pool table and tvs to watch football, the other part is a sit in restaurant. Ordered the southern fried chicken burger meal and a few beers, I was impressed with the great customer service and lovely food. My bun was slightly over done on the toasted side, but I liked it, no complaints from me. Plenty of parking available too

As far as take out Sunday dinners come, this was up there. The pictures don’t do it justice, but I’d have another. I didn’t get the parsnips I paid for separately (I do find it odd it’s advertised as extra parsnips when you don’t get any as standard). Plenty of gravy, the pork was absolutely class - best I’ve had in a long time and the cheesecake was amazing, felt like a proper fat lad after but some things are worth it on a Sunday hangover day :)

We've never had anything other than great food from the Windmill.... As we have someone poorly in the house (the cook 😖) we decided to order a Sunday Roast..... as a takeaway! and you still get the usual choice of meats. Food still lovely, hot and well packaged for when we got it home. It's a great option to have, if you're too busy, ill, or just couldn't get a seat for a sit down meal. 5☆s from the both of us!

Local pub - restaurant in Leigham area of Plymouth. Very popular with local ppl. Food and drinks are fairly priced and of very good quality. Staff are fantastic.
