Always an absolute pleasure at this cosy, welcoming coffee shop. One of my favourite places to grab a coffee and lunch while doing university work! The man who works here is so so friendly, always a smile on his face and makes me feel right at home. A very kind, calm environment to enjoy some good coffee and yummy food! Highly recommend!!

I absolutely love this cafe! It is a brilliant place to get set up and do some studying. Brilliant coffee and drink options, good food with big portions and good prices, I really enjoy coming here. The manager / owner is super friendly and really couldn’t do enough for you. They also offer student discount which is brilliant, and truly don’t mind you occupying a table for a few hours. Bonus points for free wifi and being dog friendly! I love the upstairs mezzanine are too! :)

Absolutely amazing food and drinks! I love the ground, it is easily my favorite local place in all of Plymouth! On top of the delicious food, and great treats, the owner is a great guy! Cheap prices, friendly face, nice chatting, and he always gives me a biscuit 😄 Cannot praise this place enough honestly 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽

A warm and friendly independent coffee house. Delicious home made cakes, great quality coffee. They even brought a bowl of water for our little dog. Wonderful service and relaxing atmosphere.

Carrot cake was excellent, freshly made obviously by someone who knows, my daughters brownie was equally good. But the coffee was really on-point with a great complex flavour. The owner was gracious and the ambience chilled. Definitely a hidden gem.

This spot is perfect for any sort of meal but particularly brunch, I come here a lot for the student discount and the avo on toast which is MASSIVE. The staff are unbelievably friendly and accommodating and go over and above to make you feel comfortable and welcome. Definitely my favourite cafe in Plymouth and my favourite spot for any sort of revision.

A lovely find on our way back to the station. Spacious and airy, we easily found a seat and had plenty to choose from. We were going to get takeaway sandwiches of which they had plenty of choice. Drinks were good and reasonable, toilets were very clean, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Recommended.

Popped in for a late lunch and couple of coffees for the first time. Fantastic friendly service, delicious toasted sandwich and really superb coffee. They had some wonderful homemade cakes available too. Close to The Box, University and on the way between train station and city centre it’s definitely worth a visit or two! I look forward to going again soon. Thanks!

We were about to go to Costa and instead I googled ‘best coffee Plymouth’ and this was the first place recommended, we were not disappointed! The guy behind the bar was really attentive, the brownie was homemade along with all their cakes, and the coffee was much better quality than the main brands! We were so comfortable that we stayed a little longer and I ordered a non-alcoholic IPA, The main thing that stood out was how cheap everything was, my IPA was £2.00 We will definitely be returning on our next trip down to Plymouth 👍

I’m so happy I checked out this cafe! The coffee was perfect, croissant delicious, lovely friendly staff, great chilled atmosphere, comfy seats, mezzanine level… just fantastic! Got to be the best cafe in the centre by far!

Only had a peppermint tea but the gentleman who served me was so warm and friendly. The atmosphere is lovely, quiet and peaceful. The food looked great but as I say, just the tea. Will be making an effort to pop in again if needing a hot drink in Plymouth.

Excellent coffee and generous portions of the most delicious cake we've tasted, served by extremely friendly and hospitable people. This café is exceptional all round. We will definitely return to sample more of the menu!

The BEST coffee experience I have had in the UK. The staff were really lovely, the atmosphere was really lovely, warm and welcoming. The coffee was also fantastic! 100% would recommend, and if I am ever in the area again I will be back.

The best cafe I’ve ever been to with the warmest, most hospitable family of owners you will ever meet. They are a gift to Plymouth that I’m not sure we deserve but I’m so glad we have available to us! Absolute sweethearts. They keep everything extremely clean as well. The food is yummy and a great value. It’s always a welcoming, kid friendly, peaceful environment, and other cafes could learn a lot from these lovely people. Thank you xx

Found this place quite by accident walking from Plymouth Argyle's ground towards the Theatre Royal car park; and so glad we did. Lovely coffee and exquisite cake served by a friendly proprietor.

Staff were very helpful, food was good were willing adjust my order when toasted my sandwiches which i had not asked for.service was a little slow but that was because only one person serving at front of house.

I have been here a few times.From reading other reviews it sounds like there can be busy times but for some reason I always seem to land here when it is quiet - which is perfect!I'm not a coffee drinker so I can't vouch for that. I always have a pot of Earl Grey and some cake. The cake selection makes my mouth water. I am not really a cake person but there are always such interesting flavours up for offer that I have to try some! There have always been gluten free offerings as well whenever I have been (my partner is gluten free so I'm always on the hunt for this sort of thing). I believe there are also vegan options too.There are nice big windows which I love and it is a nice modern clean setting.

Look beyond the modest dark Windows, as once inside it's vast, double ceiling, huge windows,cool modern decorations and lots of space make it a great venue to catch up with mates, delicious tea and great coffee plus amazing cakes and comfort food of beans on toast, porridge etc..

El servicio en la cafetería fue estupendo hasta hoy. A pesar de que muchos de nosotros comenzamos a usar el café a diario y acumulamos puntos de tarjetas de fidelidad cuando canjeamos una de las tarjetas, la señora de mediana edad nos trató con desprecio. Negarnos a permitirnos azúcar para nuestro capuchino fue mezquino y grosero. Tampoco se guardan códigos QR, distanciamiento social adecuado ni registros adecuados, por lo que es un lugar inseguro de Covid 19.

Ayer visité The Ground para tomar el té de la tarde para celebrar una ocasión especial.Nos recibieron calurosamente y nos sirvieron un delicioso té de la tarde; sándwiches, panecillos de salchicha caseros, bruschetta, bollos, pastel al revés de lima y pera (simplemente delicioso), selección de mini pasteles y café.Todos los pasteles son horneados en el lugar por el talentoso equipo, que siempre está probando nuevas recetas.Uno de nuestro grupo fue sin gluten y bien atendido.El té de la tarde debe reservarse con antelación.Recomendaría mucho este lugar, así como los pasteles, definitivamente es el mejor café de la ciudad.Mucho espacio, Covid seguro y tiene acceso a nivel con un baño para discapacitadosxxx

El personal aquí siempre ha sido muy cálido y amable, y el café es definitivamente un corte, por encima de lo que normalmente encuentro en las cadenas. Las instalaciones son luminosas y cómodas y no son tan ruidosas como la mayoría. Es útil para la universidad y en el camino desde Drake's Circus hasta la estación de tren, ¡pero aún se siente como un descubrimiento!

Serves a purpose if you want a quick coffee and cake. Thought it was a little expensive.

Visité aquí como 2 adultos y 2 niños pequeños y nos hicieron sentir muy bienvenidos. Tomamos el té de la tarde, que fue absolutamente fantástico y mucho más abundante de lo que pensamos que sería.Las bebidas son muy sabrosas, mejores que las de las cadenas cercanas, y también a un precio razonable. Los sándwiches estaban bien, pero los pasteles y bollos se robaron el espectáculo, especialmente el pastel de limón, que tiene que ser el mejor que hemos probado en mucho tiempo. . . o quizás incluso alguna vez.Tómese unos minutos adicionales para caminar aquí y probarlo por sí mismo, no se sentirá decepcionado. Un ambiente relajado, agradable, acogedor y limpio le espera.
