Power Plant Vegan Cafe in Plymouth

Heartbroken to hear they are closing. They have been my little welcoming heaven from the moment I arrived in Plymouth 3 years ago. In the middle of town, they felt like a little oasis of goodness and kindness. We will miss you. Loads.

Great toasties, delicious lattes, lovely staff and atmosphere - an oasis of green calm in Plymouth city center with lots of drinks choices.

Quite a nice place to visit if you are in the city centre. Pleasant staff and food and drinks delivered fairly fast. Great Coffee and chocolate. Various rolls that were fairly average but expensive. Chips were first class as were the cakes. Just went in for a snack and spent £45 which I thought was expensive.

Very cosy and welcoming space. A few power outlets dotted around for those needing one for laptops etc. I'm excited to return to try their food, but the London fog latte I had was delicious! It was my first one ever, I enjoyed trying something new.

We visited for lunch today and were delighted with every aspect. The coffees were delicious and well presented, especially the iced coconut latte! The Meatball Melt and ‘Chicken’ Katsu baguette were both really tasty. The service was friendly and there was a nice chilled atmosphere. Almost forgot about the lovely Banoffee cake we shared to finish off! Highly recommended, we will be back!

Amazing food and drink selection. Great friendly atmosphere. All vegan!

We were served two cajun chicken toasties instead of the buffalo chicken sandwiches. When raising the issue we were told that there must have been a communication error and that they were all out of the buffalo sandwiches - they had only just sold out as they were giving us the wrong ones. They apologised, told us what the toastie was and walked off. No compensation for the error made and very poor customer service. We picked the sandwich purely for the salad and were now left with a toastie we didn't want, which had no salad and far too much cheese. Very disappointing considering we spent £26 on lunch there. We were going to get some cake after as it looked nice, but was then put off as we didn't want to give them any more of our money.

First visit - thought was going to be disappointed, as not a lot left - only a couple of Reuben sandwiches (sausage, cheese, Saurkraut etc. So had that - griddled. Absolutely delicious! Never had it before. My decaff latte with pea protein milk was also delicious. Because it was so nice, I had to have another, and also a slice of bannoffee cake … 😁 All vegan, all delicious, great atmosphere, reasonable prices, lovely staff. (Sorry re pic - had scoffed most of it before I remembered to take a pic!)

A very nice, clean Vegan cafe with great service and lovely staff. A decent coffee with oatmilk which was nice enough but didnt seem strong enough for me. I had also been to Cafe Nero the same day and the coffee was better there to be fair. However if your a Vegan this cafe is great

The food is usually pretty good here but the drinks are the star of this place! I ALWAYS get the iced matcha latte (which someone told me they flavour with vanilla) and it’s perfect, just sweet enough with a great matcha flavour unlike Starbucks who don’t use real matcha powder. I keep meaning to try other drinks but it’s just too good!

Me and my family aren’t vegan but we always visit for a coffee and cake. I’m really into coffee, find it hard to get a good one in Plymouth unless you go quite far out. Since finding this place a few years back, I rarely go anywhere else. Discount for using a takeaway cup also!

Enjoyed the currywurst toastie and it was absolutely delicious, packed with saurkraut and a lovely sauce. Coffee, staff and atmosphere were all also on point. Would definitely return when I am next in the area.

everything i tried here was over the top delicious! oat milk latte, 2 different sandwiches & the matcha cookie was probably the best i’ve ever had highly recommend, if you’re vegan or not!

I will definitely be returning here. Great selection of plant based milk lattes from matcha and turmeric to pumpkin spice, yummy cakes as well! Wish I had come here sooner.

Had a coffee for the first time with oat milk. Very nice.

We came by this place yesterday with friends, first time I have been in here. Atmosphere is great, food was delicious, staff were friendly and I had my first Roobios latte! Also cakes here are great and everything is Vegan. Great little gem hidden in the West end of Plymouth. Will be going back at the first opportunity. Great to see things like this opening up in the city. Do take opportunity to visit this place, you will not be dissapointed!

We enjoyed a BBQ tempah baguette each and shared a chocolate brownie—all delicious. Friendly and welcoming staff. Relaxed atmosphere.

The food was really nice and lovely place in general. Also always nice to find vegan places to eat which can be difficult sometimes.

Amazing, still sat in whilst writing this, it's beautiful, the coffee and food is lush. I had the carrot cake and my friends had the meatball melt (which i tried a little of) both were absolutely divine. The service is lovely too!

Powet Plant has long been my favourite vegan cafe. Not just my favourite vegan cafe in Plymouth, I mean anywhere! Incredible selection of fresh, flavoursome and hearty sandwiches. Excellent cakes and sweet treats. Great teas, coffees, matcha and selected cold drinks like juices and kombucha. They also stock art and lil things from local makers which is fantastic, along with coffee equipment and vegan snacks and foods! Chapeau Power Plant xx

Coffee was good, but food well disappointing for a family business. The selection was quite poor and nothing we could see in all them reviews. Extra star for being lgbtq+ friendly

We love power plant, excellent food, the cakes are delicious and I don't have to worry about my dietary requirements, I have a dairy allergy, do I can't feel free to order anything and they have a great range of alternative milks, staff are always so friendly and there is such a lovely atmosphere even when it's busy.

Had a mocha coffee with oat milk. Not as good as the real thing. I'll stick with plain black coffee if I go back.

We popped in just for tea when passing by, but ordered also some sandwiches, and I was really surprised how tasty everything was. They are also LGBTQ+ and plant based. Definitely place worth to visit and we will be coming back when on next trip to Plymouth.

Been waiting for a long time to go here and it wasn't a disappointment. Fabulous range of sandwiches, drinks and cakes,all vegan. Shop is an added bonus too Had the salt beef pretzel and raspberry lemonade and both were stunning Would highly recommend Went back to find the cafe hugely expanded and most of the shop gone. We had loaded fries and the meatball melt (not actually meat of course!) and they were delicious! Lovely atmosphere in there and lovely staff. Went back in to get some vegan cake to take home too and they were delicious! Especially the carrot cake! We'll be back again soon as everything looked delicious and we can't wait to try it all!

Used to be my favourite place to eat. Now, the service has a lot to desire. The prices are skyrocketing. It shuold have £££ instead of ££. I would rather eat a vegan pasty for a quarter of I spend.

My partner and I have been coming here regularly for months and we love it here. The food always tastes incredible, the staff are really kind and we are genuinely sad if we cannot come here once a week. Times may be tough but we find the money because it is SO worth it 😊

Great cafe, first time here and even though people are struggle currently, this place is thriving. Which is testament to how good the place is. A large variety of milks for coffee and a nice selection of sweet and savoury plates. Next time I am in Plymouth, I’ll give it a visit again.

A great atmosphere for a light bite or a coffee and cake. Cinnamon buns and the caramel slices yum. Helpful staff and clean facilities.

Great food, amazing coffee and lovely staff. My staple morning and lunchtime stop, with an ever-changing choice of sandwiches, sweets and range of vegan sundries on offer. You could eat at PP every day and always have something different. In the age of Amazon, small businesses like Power Plant deserve our support more than ever. Not just for their delicious food and drinks but also their community driven projects such as LGBT+ evenings. You can tell every member of staff pours their heart and soul into Power Plant. I hope they know it is recognised and appreciated greatly.

Never in anyway disappointing. FANTASTIC selection of food. Especially the breakfast muffins and lovely cakes and treats! Expect they’re delicious food to run out quickly so I wouldn’t turn up too late expecting much of the delicious selection to be left! For a small, family run business, they never disappoint with their ever evolving menu! Great place, great staff, lovely all around!

In for a coffee here everyday, always so warm and welcoming! Staff are super friendly and always remember my complicated order. Creative holesome food thats always delicious, its my favourite place to get hot soup or a filling sandwich. Definitely recommend this family run café!

Very disappointing. Seemed to be all burgers and sugary rubbish. Although the café was open for another half hour; the only food they could offer us was one cold burger. The menu did look very uninteresting & health didn't seem to be very high, on their agenda. The Coffe was vile & the person serving argued with us, when whe asked for non religious cups. Mediocre disabled access, very poor for disabled toilets, as there is a climb of 20 stairs.

A very nice atmosphere with really kind staff and a well rounded menu despite being all vegan! I had the chai tea latte and spiced apple muffin which was delicious. My friends had some other stuff which they all really enjoyed too. Couldn’t recommend it enough to anyone who wants a peaceful and friendly environment to grab some tasty, well priced food and drinks.

Best vegan sandwich I have ever had! BLT had ciabataa bread with vegan Mayo and amazing vegan bacon. Fresh pickles. Was incredible!

Stopped here for lunch with my sister-in-law who is vegan and had visited before. Although I’m not vegan we decided to eat here due to ease for her and the fact that she said the food and atmosphere was good. Boy was she right! We shared a baguette as they were huge; peri peri ‘chicken’ was delicious (quite spicy!) as were the brownies. The chai latte was nice although I found the flavour very subtle (probably because I’m used to the ones from costa). Staff were lovely and the ambience in the cafe was friendly and chilled - so much so that we sat there for hours chatting without realising the time! I did find it a tad expensive (just shy of £20 for one baguette, two brownies, and two chai lattes)…but I guess the prices of things are, unfortunately, increasing wherever you look. I the whole though I would return

Nice enough cafe. It was very busy on our visit on a Saturday. If it's popular then that tells you everything you need to know. Doorstep sandwich was filling and very tasty. Herbal tea and coffees excellent too. The only downside was it seemed to take an age for the food and drinks to arrive. A good 20 minutes I would say. Another pair of hands would have made a difference or speeding up their processes. The sandwiches were already made. They just needed to be put on a plate. And how long does it take to put a tea bag and some hot water into a cup? Still, we had some time to people watch.

Stopped by on a university open day visit with my vegetarian daughter - had a great choice of freshly made baguettes and enticing cakes - and coffee that hit the spot. It's great to see vegans and vegetarians catered for in a town center establishment. We do not have this type of facility available to us locally (Coventry) which is a shame. Try it out - I'm a meat eater (sorry) - but the vegan dishes served to us we scrummy....

Yummy sandwiches and toasties. All vegan but as tasty as non vegan food. Could not taste difference between my latte with oat milk and a normal latte with cows milk. Very frothy and creamy and tasted same. It’s not cheap, but all hand made with loving touch and very generous portion sizes.

My favourite place in Plymouth it was my weekly treat- everything is so delicious. I have moved out of Plymouth now and miss it dearly. The staff are so friendly and lovely. Everytime I vist Plymouth this will be my first stop. 💛

This is an amazing cafe in the centre of Plymouth! The food is incredible, the coffee is great and you can pick up some vegan pantry items too!

Excellent coffee, it seems like one of the only very few decent/artisan options in Plymouth according to Google Maps photos/reviews!! No dairy milk but that's to be expected since it's a vegan place. Had a decaf coconut latte instead, always a bit hesitant when I'm asked whether I want small or large, but I went for the large. It was a good strength, most importantly the coconut milk hadn't been scalded which meant it was still slightly sweet, good texture, coffee tasted really good too. Staff were really friendly, decor was very cool (think urban jungle vibes), would definitely bring any vegan friends/family here when in Plymouth.

I am definitely not a vegan but really enjoyed what I ate. The cinnamon bun was amazing, lovely and moist. I would never have known it was vegan. And the raspberry lemonade was lush. Lovely friendly staff too.

Really amazing place and can’t recommend enough! Nice to see an all vegan cafe in Plymouth! Amazing that there’s so many options here and I was really impressed with the cakes and bits they have. Had my first cinnamon roll since I went vegan and it was the best I’ve ever had! Will recommend for sure and come back for more things! There’s also a shop section here with loads of vegan ingredients, sauces, etc on offer!

I'm not a vegan but went with a vegetarian friend. The staff are really friendly and they have a good range of food and drink. I had a cortada coffee which was nice and strong. I could have had one of a range of vegan milks if I so wished. I also had a vegan cake which was very rich and flavoursome. The prices are not too bad as well.. Well worth a visit, whether you're a vegan or not.
