A typical local pub in the back streets and serving a range of typical pub foods. The appearance inside and outside is not prepossessing, but the attraction of the pub is well cooked and good value food. We had the sea bass. Two well cooked, thick fillets and masses of sautéed vegetables, accompanied by a large dish of thick cut, well cooked chips Worth a visit for the food

We visited today at 1pm, Lauren took our order. We were chatting so lost track of time, but 230 came and we wondered where our food was. We asked and the chef had ticked it off so thought our order was complete. They bought the food out and did give us free desserts on the house but nothing can replace the loss of an hour of our day unfortunately so must give this review.

Delivery order placed online and then rejected after 10 mins. 5 days for a refund, no one picking up the phone. What a joke!

Looking at the sample menu and claims that the local people rate this venue highly, I can only assume they are still operating under Covid conditions. The menu is very basic bar food - think burger and chips, fish and chips, pizza ( choice of pepperoni or nowt) and a selection of sandwiches. Extremely disappointed. Have stayed with this Chain of hotels before albeit pre Covid and the food was fabulous. Not so here.

As a Law student at the University of Buckingham, I recently toured the Mount Pleasant campus accommodation, and I was thoroughly impressed. The atmosphere is lovely, with super clean and tidy facilities. The rooms are spacious and come in a variety of sizes to cater to different tastes and needs. The staff were incredibly welcoming during the tour, making me feel right at home. One of the perks that caught my attention is the provision of two meals a day from Monday to Friday, which is a great convenience for students with busy schedules. Additionally, the free gym and swimming pool are fantastic amenities for staying active and healthy. There's also a quiet study area, perfect for getting some focused work done. The location is excellent, with close proximity to lecture halls, making it easy to get to classes on time. Overall, Mount Pleasant seems like a comfortable, affordable, and well-situated accommodation option, and I'm looking forward to potentially staying there.

We thought we would revisit for Sunday lunch yesterday, after not visiting for a few years To be honest we wished we hadn’t ! booking the day before I thought we would be shown to our table when we arrived, no we were left at the door way for a good five mins When we were asked if we had booked there was a conversation of these people say theve booked !!! Not a good start Ordered the half chicken and extra cauliflower I have never had such an awful lunch it was terrible nor have we ever seen cauliflower mush that was grey in colour! I was asked after leaving my dinner was everything ok by the waitress I said no not really after explaining to her what was wrong, she said in an extremely rude and curt manor ‘well ‘tell me exactly what’s wrong so I can relay to manager No apologies albeit they took the price of my dinner and the cauliflower off the bill Some would say “oh that’s fine then!” But it is not the point at all I have been to many restaurants high end , local pubs bistros etc And not once have I had grey mush cauliflower Fortunately my husband had a slice of beef so he said it was edible ! I was not expecting a la carte nor was I expecting 4 or even 5 star But I was expecting food that was edible

Unfortunately the standards in the cafe/restaurant have continued their downward spiral. No chef, yet again, so not hot lunches. No tea as the hot water machine was broken. May I suggest a kettle!!! Very limited range of traybakes and run out of scones. The tables were dirty; poor design for a food establishment. The ladies toilets were dirty with grubby floors, dirty sinks and taps and the wall by the hand drier is filthy. Come on Hillier - get your act together and quickly.
