Absolutely awful service, there were times when we had to repeat ourselves because the staff didn't even bother to acknowledge what we said. We arrived and someone had an allergy, I mistakenly said no to the allergy question and within moments corrected myself only to be told in a curt tone...I just asked you that. Then there was no explanation to say that they would need to go through some question before we could order, instead Sally just said, I know you are waiting il be back. A little while later she again mumbled "i know you are waiting. A bit of context would have been super helpful. Finally when she came she showed us two tablets where we had to sign to state we understood the terms and conditions of dining there with an allergy. Never in my life have I been made to feel as though I'm a wrongun for dining with a child with allergy. Now they were busy but there is no excuse for the Absolutely disgraceful experience we received, my nephew asked where the straws were and recieved an abrupt "just go around there". He came back to the table mortified and asked his grandmother to come with him. It was like this throughout, as though they couldn't be bothered to talk to us. Waited ages to order the desert, then again when we asked for the bill half way through he conversation she walked to an empty table to pick up rubbish before coming back to us to settle up. By this point the lunch time rush had completely died down. Absolutely disgusted and please don't bother responding with the standard reply of we will feed this back to the team, or this isn't our standard, because when it mattered, it was your standard and clearly your team did not care.

Had some friends over from France so six of us hit the Harvester 1.30 on a Wednesday lunch time. If you were in a hurry I expect you would find the service a little slow but for us a perfect pace. The food was exceptional, well cooked, well seasoned and desserts just as fantastic. Unfortunately my wifes salad was a little gritty and did not match the description on the menu, but, the salad cart rescued that, never disappoints. A great experience and reasonably priced for six with drinks under 150.00. Well done guys you nailed it. Can't wait for our next visit.

An unexpected stop to take advantage of a car charger. I was pleasantly surprised. Good quality well cooked and presented food and excellent efficient and friendly service from Hilary. I would go again and deliberately next time

Waitress wasn’t helpful she was dismissive. The Salad bar was empty. Starters breaded mushrooms, mushrooms were chewy and inedible. My scampi chips and peas had waited on the pass, which meant the peas had gone hard the chips were cold and the tarter sauce formed a skin The refillable drinks that I had, had no taste. No soap in the ladies toilet So disappointed 😔

The service by Hilary is always so nice. She is friendly and super efficient.

Had a great dinner at Harvester; really affordable & relaxed atmosphere & the food was really good & generous portions. Hilary served us & she was really quick with the service & very friendly & welcoming in her manner without being imposing as some waiters can be. Look forward to going back again soon!

I was shocked to pay an extra 20% vat for foods and drinks never before. WHY

Good value food and drink good service

Today seems to have been mega busy and myself and partner waited a good while for our food, they actually didn’t even cook my partners food. However I got a full refund and Ashton who was the most efficient and only efficient staff member saw to this and got my partners food made, also checked we were ok. We probably wouldn’t have returned if it wasn’t for Ashton, so if you see this thank you very much:)

Manager greeted us at the door and was very friendly and jolly, he directed us to a table with a window view - the dining room was empty at this point. Our server came over within a few moments and too our drinks order then allowed us lots of time to decide on what food we wanted (with some good advice) The food came promptly and was piping hot and very tasty. I would wholly recommend this restaurant and will definately use it as a stopover again

We went there for dinner with my two kids and my wife we were on time 630 as we booked we arrived we’ve been taken upstairs in 10 minutes but the smell upstair was horrible was like old jacket or sweat. put me off straight away then we ordered the food came one hour late. and it was cold. Soggy not appetite ing at all. Speak to the staff about it they said we are busy they can’t do anything about it very disappointed. The food quality was so poor. I will not kill this place again. I’m sorry.

Steak tough chicken and ribs cooked to death salad great

Had a thoroughly unpleasant rib eye steak, some of the toughest meat I've ever eaten. If I'd paid full price I'd have been absolutely fuming. Avoid.

Food is ok but the place needs to work on its cleanliness. Sticky tables, dirty chairs and menus that look like they’ve been used as table mats

Had a fantastic meal and the service from the waitress Ashley was superb would definitely come back if the quality stays like it was tonight!!!

We had a big extended family group dinner at Blacksmiths Arms Harvester, and the team handled our fun and chaos with great service and humour, we all got our correct orders and enjoyed a great meal!

Ashton was an absolute champion! We had a large and somewhat chaotic family group dinner. And he handled all the chaos of ordering very well, took photos of our group and explained anything we asked of him. He was a highlight of our pleasant dinner, the food was amazing and loved the salad bar! Ashton you are the man!

Great place, Ashton was very attentive and joyful. He was so patient with our group of 20. The unlimited salad was great and the meals are quite large. Great value for money!

Kieron was lovely not pushy very sweet food was great, very fast service couldn’t recommend more, was quite a couple of us and he made sure it amazing, gammon was a little cold but he made sure it was all taken care off

Friendly, helpful staff. Place is looking rather tired and the food was a bit hit and miss

As always, Hilary could not do more for us. Having children with allergies can be a tricky thing when eating out but they are always careful, have plenty of options and the food was great again, perfectly cooked and delicious 😊

Had breakfast with the wife and son. Excellent service from Sally extremely polite, brilliant waitress. Checked on us at a nice pace made my son feel welcome with crayons ect. Food was lovely also.

came up for my birthday had was told no tables left in the restaurant so we had to sit in the bar had to ask 3 times for the table next to us to be cleaned our table was sticky so it took us another 3 time to ask for our table to be wiped down food was not good chicken was very dry like it been under the heat lamp to long chips had to be sent bk then 10 seconds later came bk still not hot I WILL NOT BE GOING BK THERE AGAIN WOT A JOKE and no restaurant I've worked at shut the kitchen at 9pm

Great Breakfast - fab service from Angie!

We've been a lot recently. The food is of good quality. The staff are not particularly welcoming, however, and we've been left waiting at the door for up to 15 minutes when we arrive. One time we arrived with four people instead of the booked three, and the staff member almost snarled at us!

Food was consistent with good quality we have previously experienced at Harvester. Salad bar was well stocked and fresh. Staff were helpful and friendly. Tuesday @ 5.15pm was good time to visit. Thanks!

Bolu was a lovely server with quick service and very sweet.

Very pleasantly surprised with the quality and freshness of the main meal. It was a shame the salad had been pre portioned for delivery orders and kept in the fridge as the croutons were mush and the salad wrinkly and dry.

on arrival the staff were friendly enough. restaurant was busy so had to sit in the garden which was lovely HOWEVER we waited approximately an hour for food. spent almost £70 for 2 mixed grills and drinks and the food was horrendous.... cold over cooked steak, chips and onion rings dripping in oil, sausage was charcoal and everything tasted bitter where it was way overcooked and peas had gone dry and hard. no staff about to complain to either.

Really lovely time going out for a family members birthday. James served us in the bar area and was so lovely and accommodating as we had a baby and a dog. Food was good (ribs were amazing!) Lots of empty plates.

Sally our waitress was excellent. I had the Simply Chicken which,for me, was quite peppery and hot!

Although I have rated average. I felt the location of the Blacksmiths Arms was great for passing through traffic. We were heading South and found the food was good for an early afternoon service and lunch stop. We had a flatbread cajun chicken sandwich and salad bar. Plenty of parking beautiful country views. I returned here after on Monday after a 2 year gap . It has now greatly improved, the waitress and supervisor were working so hard to ensure customers needs were met . The food was tasty and the salad bar refreshed.

Very tasty well cooked breakfast nice and clean, and very peaceful atmosphere on a Sunday morning. Sally was very efficient and friendly.

Went there yesterday for my husbands birthday. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food came out well presented, perfectly cooked and delicious. We went for the lunch menu 2 course which is a great deal. Will definitely return.

I was absolutely appalled by the attitude of the manager today! Several other visitors would have witnessed this also. If front of the entire fairly busy restaurant, he was being very demeaning and bullying towards a young bus boy. This man should be removed as manager of this restaurant as he has no idea of how staff members should be treated!

Really friendly, genuinely v good service. Great food and good price.

Jaime saved the day after a bumpy start with service by other team members. She made us feel valued, built rapport and had good banter. She was knowledgable for allergies which reassured my friend his food would be safe. Thank you for the attention you gave us even though you were busy doing multiple tables to help with alcohol sales.

Despite what was clearly and extremely busy afternoon (Father's Day) we seated promptly and treated very well by all members of staff. Particular shout out to Hilary, who did a great job of looking after us during my visit. The food was well presented, hot and arrived and despite the business of the restaurant the right sort of pace, to allow us to relax and take my time over the meal. We never felt pressured in any way. I'll be back!

I would like to be able to buy a pot of gravy, so that I don’t have to make gravy for a meal that I have ordered. The picture is misleading as it shows a little jug of gravy and people who are dyslexic go by the picture shown

Some items were abit bland , but for speed of service and value for money they get a 4 , majority of the servers were quite happy and that always helps keep up the good work

We went for dinner this evening and it was lovely throughout. There was a slight hiccup with drinks initially but our server, Jaime more than made up for it by being attentive, good humoured and efficient. The food was yummy and dessert was even better.

Quick stopover at the Blacksmith's Arms for a bite to eat after a long journey. We were looked after exceptionally by Hilary. Food came out quickly, very tasty. Salad bar was well stocked. Lots of bread rolls to choose from too. Wish I hadn't gone for dessert as I feel like I'm going to explode. All in all, great visit and well priced!

Very busy Bank Holiday Monday. Cheerfully greeted by the Manager. Served by Aike who was excellent. Service was quick, food was excellent. Group of 4, we took our 6 year old Grandson who was well looked after. Have been many times and will definitely be going again 👍
