Food excellent. Friendly and efficient servicel

Great value and great portions of food. The service was exceptionally quick and we all loved the food. Would definitely go back and recommend to family and friends. Staff were really friendly and the place has a very cozy atmosphere

Compared to our first visit, which was not good, when the place first opened and a number of subsequent visits "to see if it had improved" this visit was a revelation. The food was piping hot and delicious and the staff were very attentive. The place seemed to be buzzing and everyone was enjoying themselves. My only criticism was the slow service at the bar as there only seem to be one person serving even though there were plenty of staff about.

Lovely family pub. There is a kid friendly section on one side of the pub, you don't have to sit there if you have children but it's just close to the outdoor playground and small in house arcade bit. Lovely atmosphere. Outdoor seating available. I normally go there for drinks, sometimes desert and food on odd occasion. Food could be improved I'm not keen on the carvery found it quite dry but haven't had problems with the service, food has always been served promptly, friendly bar staff. Quiz Wednesday night starts 8pm last entry probably around 7:30/45. £2 a go, lasts about an hour. Clean and tidy, toilets always seem well kept. Disability accessible and baby changing toilet. Nice warm and friendly pub go regularly with my family, was there tonight for quiz night (29.08.24)

I popped in here with my wife and found a busy and friendly pub. There are TV'S dotted around, if you just want to sit and watch the telly. The prices are good and the food was tasty. You can enjoy a 30% off discount at the moment, which was nice. We will definitely be going there again.

On arrival was greeted and seated straight away. Ordered at the bar and was served by Adam, very friendly. Food very good. I had a carvery which was lovely and served by a friendly staff member. I be returning with family for Sunday lunch.

We waited for 5 minutes to be seated and when no one came we just found a table, unsure if we are supposed to as no signs to say either way, maybe a good idea to specify? However once seated food was delicious and service was quick, kids enjoyed the play area.

A family-friendly place. Friendly and helpful service. The food was very tasty and in large portions. A big plus for the children's corner.

Everyone is friendly and welcoming, food was just how we ordered it and came out hot, service was very good and didn't have to wait long

Booking was easy and the table clearly reserved with the booking details on the table. Ordered at the bar - staff member polite, helpful and accommodated a picky request. Food arrived promptly, was hot and kitchen delivered picky request. No one in our group of 7 had anything to moan about. Result!

Went for a carvery meat very tender vegetables were great but disappointed with the roast potatoes, friendly staff worth a visit

Fran organised a wonder day for our charity. Holding a fun family day. We raised £1.488 . The pub has a wonderful family atmosphere, with great food and friendly staff.

I had an amazing time at the quiz last Wednesday, we were served by a lovely girl called Amy who made the whole experience wonderful. Will definitely be going back 100% recommend :)

A great attentive team in place creating a really good pub/restaurant atmosphere, when weather is warmer garden area is fantastic, and the welcoming of dogs makes life a lot easier. Great range of food and drink and of course the carvery.

We all meet as a family and have a meal together because life is hectic and making time is a must for family. We have been to other places, and this was a very nice and clean establishment with helpful staff and a good list of items to choose from on the menu. Overall, we had fun and would definitely be coming back.

1st time here.Great location,amazing venue lots of lovely different seating areas. The outside is brilliant if the weather is good even a childs area.The menu is excellent which has a carvery during the week and good value for money and well presented. Restaurant chairs definitely need upgrading. They were dirty and paint chipped etc Service was great. All staff friendly and helpful. Food was good. Sadly they were out of chunky chips and my rump steak was very fatty.

1800 hrs I managed to get my Dad out after a hip operation and had the support of all the staff to help accommodate him. We had a lovely table large enough and high enough for him to be able to sit and then stand. Ben and George the bar staff were very polite and chatty. Autumn was lovely and came and chatted with my Dad to make sure that he was ok. Brandon and Nick put aside a Small amount of turkey for him as he doesn’t eat a lot and all the food was hot and fresh . He liked it that much and felt so welcome that he could Ben had a pudding. Thankyou all and Mariana,Liv and Rachel for making his outing spectacular as he hasn’t been out in a long time x 5/5 A huge thankyou to everyone today for making my Easter Sunday amazing. My Dads first outing since being extremely poorly and he loves his roast dinner. Staff as per usual were all amazing, kind, happy (Nic) on carvery, Ben and George on the bar, Fran, Autumn, Amy and everyone else. Thankyou so much xxxx I would like to also say that Steak night on a Thursday is fantastic….. My steak is always cooked to pe faction and the price is reasonable. I’ve never had a bad experience. A wonderful place for a family occasion.

Had carvery was okI had the carvery and my wife had the cowboy burger. They were both very nice. The carvery was fresh and warm but we did eat at 12pm so wouldn't expect anything else.

Booked a table for 4. Server Adam took us to our table, promptly returning with the jug of water we had requested. He was very helpful and friendly throughout our visit, even thanking us and wishing us all the best as we left.

This was my first visit to this restaurant, I had heard some negative things about it but thought I would try it for myself. I was really impressed, we received a warm welcome from the member of staff at the door then shown to our table. Where the menu was explained. We opted to have the carvery, there was a choice of gammon or turkey on three different plate sizes. There were 4 vegetable choices with mashed potatoes and roasted potatoes. We opted for the large plate. The meat portion was very generous and the vegetables were delicious. The coffee was very good. As was the service. What really impressed me, was that they recognise the Blue Light Card, which gave us a discount on our food, this will keep us coming back. The loo’s are clean and well maintained. The car parking is free for 4 hours, but you must register your number plate when you enter the restaurant. All in all a very nice experience.

Staff were friendly and helpful, even though I had a couple of requests about the order. It all came out as we'd asked for and was very enjoyable.

Amazing carvery which is very allergen friendly! Almost all the sides are gluten free, and the website clearly displays the allergens for each of the carvery side options. The gravy is also gluten free and is clearly labelled as such on the condiment station. Staff were friendly and welcoming, and the environment was very relaxing. Very reasonably priced too. Cannot praise it enough. I’m thrilled to have finally found a carvery I can fully enjoy with my dietary requirements!

Our table was ready with a nice reservation card with our name on, however the chairs were hard so would have been uncomfortable for my elderly mother, the staff quickly moved us across to another table with softer seating no trouble at all, the service, food and drinks were all lovely, any member of staff we asked a question to knew the answer straightaway. It was very clean however my husband mentioned the gents toilets seem to be a bit flooded, however there was a warning notice to this effect on the gents toilet door so it had been noted and guess they were waiting for the problem to be sorted. Prices were good. Great place to meet up with friends, very casual and friendly no wonder this is the busiest place in town, you got it just right!

Good enough meal . I give it 4 stars. Relatively expensive and compared to other similar pubs a standard menu. Puddings are standard fayre.

Food was good. Service was good. We were a group of 4 and had to eat outside as we were not aware in advance that there would be live music. It was sooo LOUD! We couldn't hold a conversation between us. And could barely order food. If we had known in advance when we booked, we would not have travelled half an hour to get there.

Nice place to eat, good menu, reasonably priced, good free parking. Would advise booking as can get busy.

Love this place, we go Monday evenings once every month. Were they have a quiz. Really great service & food is well worth the money. I take 4 ladies with me, but we have a party of 13. Brilliant atmosphere. Sue Toudup the quiz master is a asset for this pub. X

We booked for dinner very last minute & the team did not only accommodate our booking but also provided us with seating in our preferred area of the pub. We were tired after a very long journey and staff were so lovely in serving us quickly, helping us with taking drinks to table & serving us speedily. Food was delicious as always. Thank you!

Carvery was nice and the overall food quality was great value for money. The cleanliness of the table was the only let down. The table we were placed at had not been well cleaned following the last user.

Price are to high I payd for the sunday roast chef said I can have only two silices of ham ham was 2 bits then I had paid whole price to eat vegetales bad cooked and bad tasty. I think food are soo bad in thise place they dont put just a little love when they are cooking . In my 12 years old I Cook better than the chef on these pub. Site was amaithing, but food and price are just scams. Minimum they can give free refills for Pepsi, but not. Pudding was hard like stone I think frozen from teaco are better, stoke was cold, green pees just from the can. Very bad in general.

Well i ordered the mixed grill i dont know whos to blame but the chips are what i was given in primary school and my fried egg was solid. Id either recommend taking it off the menu or getting a chef that knows how to cook one. Dont think il be returning. The staff are lovely tho.

Excellent place to have a Sunday lunch or pop in if you fancy a brunch. It's got a good bunch of options on the menu but the carvery especially a large will definitely fill you up, I struggled and barely managed to touch my Yorkshire pudding as it felt my seams would start to give in. Giving it five stars even though not much parking for all the visiting cars. Better to walk from town if that's where you've been looking around.

When this restaurant first opened it was clean and nice food Popped in Friday 29th March and found a table. All the tables around us were dirty with previous customers plates cups cutlery and left over food. I asked twice if a member of staff could clear the tables and clean them, it took 15 minutes for sm1 to clean them Also one of the chefs totally put me off ordering a meal when he came out of the kitchen to fill the Yorkshire puds and he picked up the Yorkshire puds with his bare hands, yucky Restaurant has rly gone downhill especially with poor hygiene We didn't order and left and found a lovely clean restaurant

I love the Spindle, not only as a frequent patron but as a booked Entertainer too. I host a monthly ‘Quizzy Sue’ music bingo event there, and Fran and her team do a fantastic job with all the organisation that this event entails. It’s thanks to them that the evening is always a huge success (book early if you want to go!). The atmosphere is always brilliant, such a fun-loving crowd, I love hosting (and eating) there!

It’s a chain but the food quality’s good. Service is efficient. Very reasonably priced.

Lovely clean pub, right near the student res. We walked in on a Saturday night and there was a table available. Food was great, I had the carvery £9.99 unlimited veg and gravy. It was delicious! There is also a regular menu, and daily specials as well. Service was quick and all the staff were friendly and available. Free parking (register you number plate at the bar)

Lovely tasty food, nice NZ Sauvignon and friendly, attentive staff.

All Meat & chips only on menu. No good for vegetarians or vegans. No pasta alternatives and ‘soup of the day’ is always ALWAYS only tomato. My ONLY choice was a plate of veg. Cheap and cheerful but only for kids.

A lovely Friday evening meal, there's such a nice atmosphere at Spindle and Thread. The young team of staff were tremendous, a warm welcome and service at the counter. Table service excellent, one young lady remembered our seven drinks without writing them down. Really good food, ladies had the chicken and mushroom pie, guys had steak. Fabulous chips and rocky road dessert. It was busy, so a slight wait for the mains to arrive. This is the third time we've been here as a group, and it won't be the last. Thanks to all staff, seen and unseen.
