Jack and Mya were amazing servers! My aunt had an allergy and they had such a lovely reaction and were super helpful. They helped us decide the best cocktail and overall by far the best service I have had in a while. Fully recommend. Amazing food, even better service!!!!

The decor in the pub is warm and inviting. The food was great and the staff are really friendly. We aren’t local to here so was a one off that we were here but would highly recommend.

On a cold night my friend and I were welcomed by a lovely roaring fire, it was a nice warm welcome. We decided to have the spit roast chicken and we were definitely not disappointed. Didn't have to wait long and the service was excellent. What I enjoy about the Spade Oak is not only is it my go to favourite place but the food never lets me down and is reasonably priced. Back again soon!

Needed somewhere for lunch, hadn't been in the Spade Oak for years. We both had off the fixed price lunch menu which was good value for money . Drinks were a bit pricey imo, didn't distract though from a good time. Staff were cheerful & helpful, would visit again.

Lovely lunch at The Spade Oak today. We had the Diablo pizza which was amazing and a glass of Ca bolani. The weather didn’t let us down so we were able to eat outside. Always worth a visit here!

Phoned ahead a booked a table. Waited at the bar 20 minutes to book in. Told where our table was. Went to bar to order food and drinks, only 2 people serving and they were busy making cocktails. About 10 people waiting to be served, people tapping glasses on the bar to get attention. Walked away and went elsewhere.

Really lovely lunch. I had the fish cakes which were beautiful and my husband had the steak sandwich which he loved. Service was faultless. Enjoyed browsing the Christmas menu online using the free Wi-Fi and planning our visit between Christmas and New Year. We will be back!

Popped in to my favourite local on a lovely warm Sunday afternoon for a few snacks and a lovely glass of Ca Bolani. Excellent service from the Team especially Mateo and Tom.

Mediocre scallops for starters - really tiny but very tasty, lovely lamb main course and fabulous passion fruit martini with mini scicilian lemon tart. Lovely mean and attentive staff.

Our visit to The Spade Oak was to have been a special occasion, and on balance we enjoyed ourselves. The Inn is perfectly located close to the river, and at the end of a narrow country lane. We shared bread and oils as a starter, which was delicious. Unfortunately, several dishes weren't available on the menu that evening, which is not something the waiter outlined until we asked for it. Two of us ordered chicken in BBQ sauce, and two the fish and chips. In my opinion, my chicken was undercooked, contained several bones and was served with chips resembling McDonald's 'medium fries'. My meal was unremarkable and probably cost a fraction of the asking price to make. After a very average meal I was presented with the bill and the options to leave a 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, or 'Other' gratuity. Despite choosing the 5% option, I was charged 10% gratuity for over-priced drinks, a limited food selection and disappointing mains. I strongly suspect that this is an excellent Inn to visit in the Summer, and clearly has the potential to be outstanding. Sadly for me, last Saturday was not spectacular, and I resent having 10% gratuity added to my bill without my consent. There may be logic why leaving 0% gratuity was not an option! Can do better.

Came here with friends for a catch up, the service was fantastic… the young lady who looked after us was friendly funny and very knowledgeable about the menu, I had the belly pork which was cooked great and followed it with a mini brownie and espresso martini.. the cocktails offer was good at 2-£14 and I had afew varieties but all delicious! Will 100% return in future thankyou

We went as a family on Sunday and the pub itself is lovely but the food turned up after 1 hour warm, no yorkshire puddings! The service was as good as can be for a young guy but honstly my feedback is the kitchen and service are overwhelmed!! Get some extra bodies on a busy Sunday and order more foodm how can Yorkshire puddings be run out by 1:45!!!! Not the best experience the pub rests on the fact the location after a Sunday walk and decor its self is really nice. The rest well below par.

We came for Sunday lunch and despite it being busy, the service was great and the food was brilliant. We both had roast beef and it was the best roast we've had in ages! The servers and manager on duty were all lovely - highly recommend.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch after a lovely river walk to Cookham. I chose the pork belly with Scallops and was not disappointed...there were many elements to the dish alongside the pork, which was beautifully cooked. The Broccoli, pineapple and Garlic Salsa type think was absolutely delicious and complemented the accompanying potato gratin beautifully. A good portion of crackling and a little pork croquette were gratefully received and the pot of delicious pork gravy tied it all together. My wife had the fillet steak and was very enthusiastic about the dish, which she'd had before and was the reason for our return. The staff were nice, really accommodating and polite and knew the menu well. We'll be coming back. Thank you.

Another lovely visit to The Spade Oak. Weather was gorgeous so we sat outside. It was a drink after work but we indulged in some snacks recommended by the Manager Lauren so we had halloumi fries, olives and billionaire fries. I have to say they were delicious and I would highly recommend. Staff very attentive as always. Back soon!

An unenthusiastic member of staff. The coffee was lukewarm and in the past there was a biscuit with the coffee. When I asked if there was a biscuit this time, I was told no!

Very good lunch menu The Salt and Pepper squid was the best I've eaten anywhere. Various other lunches in our party were excellent too. Young man who served us was friendly and efficient.
