As a Law student at the University of Buckingham, I recently toured the Mount Pleasant campus accommodation, and I was thoroughly impressed. The atmosphere is lovely, with super clean and tidy facilities. The rooms are spacious and come in a variety of sizes to cater to different tastes and needs.The staff were incredibly welcoming during the tour, making me feel right at home. One of the perks that caught my attention is the provision of two meals a day from Monday to Friday, which is a great convenience for students with busy schedules. Additionally, the free gym and swimming pool are fantastic amenities for staying active and healthy.There's also a quiet study area, perfect for getting some focused work done. The location is excellent, with close proximity to lecture halls, making it easy to get to classes on time. Overall, Mount Pleasant seems like a comfortable, affordable, and well-situated accommodation option, and I'm looking forward to potentially staying there.

It was a hotel. It had a bed. The bed was reasonably comfortable. Clean hotel. It was close to where we needed to be.

Best Hotel we have stayed in by far. We travel around alot and I must say this is the best we have been in. The staff cannot fo enough for you and the facilities top it off. The food is the best you will find gor a 3 star hotel and I would like to thank all the staff for making us feel welcome.

The only beautiful and decent place to stay in buckingham particularly if you are visiting children at university..

We always try to stay here when attending MotoGP and this year (2022) was the first year for 3 years (due to covid) and I have to compliment the hotel and staff as it seems to have undergone a refurbishment. Rooms were great, service very good, for the price you pay (c£170 for 3 nights). However, there is a huge damper on this year's experience as I have tried to book for next year and whilst online it shows as unavailable, I called and managed to secure rooms....great....until I saw the price come through on the email confirmations - £924 for 3 nights per room...are you being serious? I mean,....seriously? Utterly horrified, and when I questioned it, I was met with a "take-it-or-leave-it" attitude. Shocked and very disappointed as we have stayed here a good few times over the last 10 years....no points for loyalty or returning customers then.

So I was advised to book this room as it was close to a wedding I was going to. The room was old and dated. It needed a freshen up, paint job, minor repairs in the bathroom and new furniture. Bed wasn't comfortable it gave poor bad support and the pillows were flat. The reception did take it's time, when another couple was behind me they bothered to bring out another staff member, they wanted a 50 pound incidental charge which was very annoying and there was no prior warning beforehand. Now I have to keep an eye they will give me my refund. Breakfast wasn't included and I had to pay 9 pounds extra. The staff member didn't know how to give me a copy of my card transaction. I had to take a photo of the merchant copy. When I got back from the wedding there were about 6 men drunk and still drinking and a few were shouting abuse at me when I came in the entrance as I was wearing a dinner suit. That wasn't pleasant. The room was boiling hot. The ventilation did nothing and they told me Aircon didn't work. They said use the portable fan and the fan head was dirty. I just thought I am glad I am only hear for one night. I rarely tell people don't go stay somewhere but this dated hotel that is just grim and doesn't deserve our money. I hope this helps others. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was lovely and the rooms were clean. If you have poor mobile request a downstairs room as this hotel doesn’t have a lift, however their amenities are good - the swimming pool and gym. I would recommend this hotel.

Nice place rooms decent size. Arrived with my partner and pet dog, booking was easy and friendly. Had to pay £50 holding fee which was fine but they should explain before booking. Nice pool and good spa. 24 hour bar which was nice. Room cleaning was bad, had the clean my room hook on the door for 2 days and no-one cleaned my room. So took it off and cleaned it myself. Apon booking I had to question why they took money out of my holding fee, that is when they explained it was a £10 fee for the dog per night... Why don't you tell customers this before booking??? Not that it was a problem but real bad service.

Went to The Buckingham Hotel for afternoon tea for a friend's 60th birthday. Service was very slow. We werent asked if any of us had food alergies or preferences such vegan, vegetarian or pescatarian. Sandwiches where below what we would expect, bread still had crusts on, ham and mustard had far too much mustard and 1 very thin layer of aneamic ham. The scones were no better than the cheap ones you would buy in Morrisons. Other cakes looked though they were from an Iceland party box which had been defrosted that morning. Service was extremely slow and staff looked miserable. There was no ambience and e were left feeling very disappointed for an occasion that should have been special. Would not recommend to anyone for afternoon tea.

Rooms at front subject to noise from road when window open. Lamb kebab disappointing, was minced and reformed meat, not chunks. Couscous accompaniment delicious. Cajun chicken was perfectly acceptable.

Double bed was two singles pushed together so not comfy. Asking for a £50 coverage fee was very old fashioned and I am unsure if this has been reimbursed yet. Some staff were ok. Gym was very small so never bothered. Not if impressed.

The room absolutely stinks of damp or sweat or something unpleasant, window pushed wide open on our arrival so its obvious the hotel is aware there is a problem!

Went for Afternoon Cream Tea. Very nice, lovely Staff.

The staff were excellent, from reception to the dining room. All were very helpful and friendly. The room was ok but the mattess was a bit soft for me. The only down side was the sparse evening menu, but given the general shortage of chefs in the hospitality sector, I wasn't surprised. However, the food was very tasty.

Good relaxation in a friendly hotel

Room was clean and tidy. Only downside was bathroom was very dated and you have to have a fight with a flapping shower curtain when you have a shower. Glass Shower screens would be better. Plates for the hot breakfast are cold so your breakfast doesn't stay hot. A plate warmer would be a good idea.

Reasonably priced, clean room, friendly staff, lovely breakfast and use of the leisure club (gym, pool, sauna and steam) thrown in for good measure. If we're ever back in the area, we'll be booking again 👌

Had a meeting there, facilities OK.

Nice if a little dated hotel, extremely friendly staff and good sized rooms. Unfortunately however, during our stay there was some kind of issue that meant the lobby smelt disgustingly of sewage. One of the warmest days of the year so far and sewage could be smelt at reception next to the dining area and no windows or doors had been made open to evacuate the smell. By the evening and early hours when I was passing again the smell had seemed to disappeared. On return after my event however in our room the smell could be found in the bathroom tho thankfully not as strong as at the previous occasion in the lobby and closing the bathroom door held it at bay from the bedroom.

Not good......... One of the worst hotel experiences I have had, I travel for work, all I need is a comfortable bed and a clean room. Nothing was comfortable or clean about it. I was charged a £50 fee Incase of damages and didn't have a choice in this, yet this was not stated anywhere on the booking, in fact none of the guests staying at the same time as me knew about this mandatory charge and I witnessed guests turned away because they could not pay this charge on book in. (They had already paid for their room) Not all of the staff but some are rude and plain ignorant. Food is subpar and not diverse in choice in any way. It's a shame as the reception has had a do over but the rooms are outdated and unattractive.

One of the worst places I have stayed. Firstly when you arrive they charge a £50 deposit for breakages, that is an absolute cheek as everything is run down and half broken as it is. I had the worst nights sleep as the bed is two (very soft with dips in the middle) single beds which makes it very uncomfortable. The shower was tepid at best and the whole bathroom suite looks like it was stolen from a campsite. Attempted breakfast but when I wanted to ask a staff member a question they were too busy chatting with each other to notice they had customers. One of the staff was very friendly but spent most of the time I was at breakfast on his phone. The manager had the gall to ask me not to eat my takeaway in the bar, even though I had bought a drink and there was no food available to me on their menu. They seem happy to accept guests who have dogs that they leave in their room and loud groups. I would mind a lot less if it was cheap but it was not and I have stayed in better places for half the money.

It's OK but against the new policy of holding a pending 50 deposit on your bank card.They clear it when you check out but the fact is that amount is essentially unavailable in your account for the duration of your stay.Due to this I won't be staying again.

2 stars maybe harsh but I have to be honest about my stay here, reception staff were pleasant and friendly especially Michelle but that was as good as it got! Rooms have basic amenities in my room the shower rail fell of the wall when I tried to adjust the shower head, the toilet didn't flush correctly, double bed was 2 singles put together. On arrival even though my room and breakfast was pre-paid they take £50 as a holding fee, I still haven't got it back so I am out of pocket until I get it refunded. Food was OK but nothing special, especially for the price. There's a gym on site with an average size pool but sauna was out of order and steam room could do with some TLC. Stayed here for business don't think I'll be back.

Unique service. Friendly people and great environment!

We had a great couple of days stay, the bar and restaurant service was excellent!. Really nice breakfast, proper sausages!. Okay selection of ciders, would of been nice to have an Aspall or friels cider, rather than strongbow and dark fruits, but still not a big deal. The spa was very relaxing!, jacuzzi, pool and steam room was really nice. Only thing that let me down abit, was the grounds. Overgrown hedges and litter in carpark, with me being a groundsman, I noticed this right away. ( grounds need attention). But when all said and done, I had a great time and will definitely be returning next time I'm in the area.

When staying in a hotel you mainly look for 3 thing, good food, good shower and a good bed. The double bed was two single beds put together with a very noticeable dip in the middle of them and the shower only had piping hot water, the cold water didn't work. I didn't get a sense of satisfaction for the price that was paid. The food was as expected. . .

Shared an afternoon tea here. Food was as nice but only got 2 finger sandwiches each, so if you're hungry forget it. Cakes were ok but rather bland.

Thanks for response, although I don't think you quite understand my gripe. The essence of a cream tea, is , scones, cream and jam. Even as a person with a lacto intolerance, I can eat scones when made lacto free with lacto free cream. I realize you can't just make 1 scone, but I m sure you could make and freeze a batch. Cheese cake can be lacto free!! Pastry and sponge cakes all can be lacto free. And all served with lacto free cream. I gave you plenty of notice and I m sure I'm not the first person with this problem to visit your hotel. You need to do some research and start catering for us.

The staff are rude and unhelpful, there is no food served on a Sunday. Avoid go to other hotels nearby. Room was very cold on entry. If you do not get to breakfast well before finishing time you will find it cleared whilst you are still wanting it.

Staff are fantastic and helpful. The pool and sauna are a brilliant addition to the hotel as well as the amount of free parking surrounding the hotel. The rooms are well presented and immaculate, with a desk, seating area, and the addition of tea and coffee facilities. We dined at the in house restaurant, which is likely to be the best part of our stay. There is a good selection on their menu and the prices are very affordable. We would like to give huge compliments to the chefs, the food was spectacular!! We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone, and would definitely stay here again!

Excellent stay had a cracking weekend good amenities. At breakfast was scrambled eggs I ssked if I could get fried eggs and they went and chef sorted ot out.

A good hotel that we have used for over 20 years for our group dinner dance. Very helpful, knowledgeable staff who provided all that we requested. We are booked to return again next year! Our members have come from all over England and will return again in the future.

Had another lovely stay at this wonderful hotel. The staff immaculate dress warm friendly welcome and lovely ambience. Room very clean and such comfortable bed Excellent evening meal. First class service. Thankyou to everyone for all your hard work.

Great stay- large family room with comfy beds. Good hearty breakfast and really enjoyed the pool, all at a good price.

Ok I guess. Not that impressed. Tired decor and pool area lacking polish and fitness. Sauna a bit too hot. Probably won’t go again I’ll find something better for same money.

Not a bad place at all. Food was good, service excellent. Room was comfortable if a bit tired, but by no means unpleasant. Definitely would stay again.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, clean and cosy room. Spa facilities are clean and nice, jacuzzi a little small but it is enough for up to 4 people same as steam room and sauna. Pool attendant was the most friendly person in the hotel.

We had a family reunion that was rearranged from February 2020. The weekend was absolutely brilliant. The food was amazing everyone commented how nice it was. The hotel and rooms were lovely and comfortable. We couldn't fault our stay at all. Lovely friendly staff. I would like to say a very special thank you to Sam and all the staff for making this weekend so memorable for us all. We will stay again soon. Jane

Arrived at 09:10 for a breakfast business meeting only to be told breakfast finished at 09:00 and they don’t serve any food, not even a bap until 6pm. Ridiculous for an hotel

Nice hotel with friendly staff and helpful staff. Rooms are well appointed, comfortable bed, good showers and clean. Excellent base for our 16 men golf tour. Breakfast was very good and freshly cooked. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was exceptional for such a large group. Bearing in mind the hotel was at capacity with 2 other much larger functions already underway. Thoroughly recommend the hotel, we will be returning for further golf tours

Excellent service - we were are large group and Sam and the team looked after us brilliantly - very nice breakfast and dinner - rooms clean and tidy - what more could you want for a short stay - they also have pool etc but never got to use any of the facilities but would recommend this hotel and would stay again - thanks to the whole team for accommodating our group and looking after us brilliantly

Average hotel in Buckingham. Rooms are ok but nothing special. During dinner the staff isn't particularly friendly and i had a feeling that they weren't happy to serve us dinner.

Nice staff good facilities breakfast was really nice, poached eggs just how I like them and fried bread provided when asked. Would stay again.

Absolutely our favourite hotel, rooms are comfortable and very clean. Swimming pool is great, staff are amazing. Everything we need.

Well situated along the A421, close to Buckingham. Next to a petrol station, which is handy. Pleasant and clean room, friendly staff, good breakfast. I did feel it was a bit expensive.

Great place to stay, rooms are spotless and well presented. Excellent dinner menu and decent sized meals. Breakfast was excellent and substantial. Staff are polite and helpful. Short distance from the center of town, well within walking distance. Worth a repeat visit

Choose cos it has a pool unable to use either evening or morning of visit, bed too big and uncomfortable in the middle as it was two singles put together.

Had a great meal there with friends, didn't have to wait long for it too arrive, friendly staff.

Good and bad. Very clean. Friendly staff most of them. The coffee choice was Columbian or decaf. I hate Columbian. I got back especially on Sunday evening to get some dinner to find out they don't do any food. Not even a sandwich. I left early and went home mainly due to the staff members attitude which made me feel ultra uncomfortable. Will not go back.

Decent clean and spacious rooms, but sloppy breakfast service. Don't order your cold cereal's with your cooked breakfast or they will arrive together or seconds apart , usually without condiments and cutlery then your hot food will be cold and your cereal warm.

Afternoon tea was not as nice as i was hoping it would be.

If i’m being honest their website is so unclear and somewhat difficult to understand, especially for someone who doesn’t stay in hotels often. Didn’t end up staying honestly.

Good rooms. My only bug bare would be that you have to give a £50 deposit per room and this can take a couple of days to receive back. Not the norm.. I personally won't be back.

An enjoyable afternoon tea in an attractive setting on the outskirts of Buckingham.

Disappointed as I called the hotel before I booked and was advised the pool is running as normal. After making the payment in hotel was advised you need to book 45 minute time slots for the pool and those slots were not possible for me. I requested a refund the following morning but was told I will be billed for 2 nights. There were no glasses in the room and not even a bottle of water. Feel had they refunded me for the nights I did not stay I would have been a returning guest. Rooms were spacious and clean and staff was nice. Just be aware of the spa is restricted to 45 minutes and only available if not booked as its a members spa too not just for guests meaning slots are not guaranteed.

He pasado 4 noches por motivos laborales. No puedo decir que la experiencia haya sido satisfactoria. Tendría que probar en otra época, fuera de covid, para poder valorar correctamente. No me limpiaron ni me hicieron la habitación en las 4 noches. El restaurante del hotel sólo tenía 4 opciones de desayuno. Los menús de comida y cena se limitaron a 4 platos que se repetían día a día. Bañera con cortina que se te pega al cuerpo mientras te duchas. Intolerable. Secador de pelo que no puedes enchufar delante de ningún espejo. Señores, detalles muy fáciles y baratos de resolver que harían la estancia un poco más decente. No lo recomiendo. He estado varias veces por la zona por motivos laborales y hay muchas mejores opciones con más detalles para hacer la estancia mucho más agradable.

Good place. Went to have tea with friends, loved the quiet ambience and also the cakes and sandwiches were very tasty.

I’ve stayed at a best western hotel before and enjoyed it so thought we would try this one, wish we hadn’t of bothered. On booking we were told we had to have two rooms as we’re a family of 4, we asked for a adjoining room so we could be closer to each other to be told they didn’t do them. On arriving Daniel on the desk booked is in, we asked about the pool and he said we needed to book a slot, now I understand the rules and regulations regarding Covid but we couldn’t get a slot anytime during our stay ( why weren’t we advised to book early?) so kids were very disappointed. Then we get to our room and it’s got an adjoining door? And we’re joined to another family with a dog what barked every time someone walks past the room whilst my son is in a separate room. Breakfast the next morning was awful apparently our second room didn’t include breakfast and tried to charge us again! The staff were miserable and made you feel you were putting them out if you asked for anything, then the breakfast came out cold! By this point we had enough and left the breakfast on the table and left.

We are regulars at the best western hotel Buckingham. During a weekend stay, whilst a pandemic is going on, we were impressed with how the hotel has managed to make everyone feel safe, and the standards they have implemented to keep everyone safe. My reason for 3 stars, was our bin in our bedroom had not been emptied from the previous guests! This led me to feel unhappy about the possible cleanliness of the room in general. We ate in the restaurant, food was lovely. Breakfast was nice as always, yet not very hot. This was table service rather than the normal buffet, help yourself, which I understand, but a hot breakfast should be still standard- not warm. We stayed in room 14. There was a loud noise from the room below us, every 5 mins. So definitely some equipment of some kind. This went on all night and day. It could be heard over the television!... do not stay in this room if you want a quiet night!... we got used to it, and considering the circumstances of covid etc, we did not ask to change rooms. The staff as always are wonderful. Well done on the whole Best Western, but I will ask never to never be in room 14 again.

Decent. Not bad priced. Nice entrance to reception and dining area. But no air con and the guy in reception needs to work on his people skills. Oh and your aloud to smile you no mate

Ho pernottato per la bellezza di 18 notti e con la scusa del corona virus mi è stata rifatta la camera SOLTANTO UNA VOLTA !!!! Io vorrei sapere se a casa loro cambiano le lenzuola solo 2 volte al mese ???? Secondo me hanno approfittato della situazione e voluto speculare sul personale di pulizia perché tutti gli altri hotel facevano la pulizia delle camere regolarmente . Al mio arrivo in camera ho trovato una macchia di caffè sul comodino e anche dopo l'unica volta che hanno pulito la camera la macchia è rimasta ( ho provato , andava via con un dito ) ..... Assolutamente mai più , sconsigliato !!!!!

Myself and my partner stayed here for 5 nights last week and I had to come on here to say thank you very much for such a wonderful stay! Eve was superb and very friendly, making sure we had everything we needed. Thank you also to Yasmin for being very efficient with helping us getting booked in. The beds are super comfy, shower is very powerful and having a bath was a very nice touch! I could not recommend this place enough!

Usual Best western hotel only because of covid minimal service which was expected. However the hotel and rooms were very clean and well presented. Not very busy at the moment as only for key workers but this place is usually busy.

Lovely staff at this hotel... In particular Eve, in Reception, is always smiling and cheerful :) Slight issue this time with the water smelling 'earthy' since this hotel opened back up after being closed for a long spell during lockdown, but I am sure once everything has been up and running and flushed through the pipes, it will be fine again. Rooms are very comfortable and contain everything you need during your stay.

Ate here as no where else within walking distance. Restaurant itself could do with jazzing up a bit as it felt like eating in reception with baffles boards around us. Food was ok but expensive for what it was. Service was pleasant

Okay so.. The room overall looks a little outdated if you're planning on taking your partner here for 'something nice'. But hey it has it all, a comfy bed, a kettle for a quick coffee(yes there is breakfast in the morning if you want it), decent bathroom and it looked clean apart from the bath.. That had dust..so it just made me wonder what else hasn't been cleaned properly. I decided to get some room service.. Now this is where I did not feel welcome..at all. When the man heard I wanted to order some food.. He took the longest sigh as if I was asking for a lot. He was not helpful during the order and the whole experience felt as if he just wanted to get it over and done with. This does not reflect on all the staff here because I did call again to add a drink to my order and the young man that answered was far more polite..(and my interactions with others during my days there were very positive) but the previous person alone was enough to ruin it. I actually didn't want to say anything negative to him incase he did anything to my food. Nevertheless an okay place if your here for a course and just using it to sleep. Lastly here's a picture of the chicken burger I ordered I mean I know its from the grill but I didn't expect it to be crispy charcoal black.

Booked an afternoon tea Saturday at this hotel and I must say was impressed with service waiter and front of house made you feel very welcome went to upgrade sparkling afternoon tea scones piping hot and sandwiches were lovely will definitely return again keep up the good work

Is definitely a good nice place but it is not accessible for disabled enough for disabled to walk through is not wide enough the entrance for the disabled is too far to walk for people if you're in a wheelchair you hopeless because it has no lifts and it only has two parking spaces for disabled

Too expensive for tea and coffee . Costs pennies to make but pounds to buy . Not reasonable profit margins .
