Hanna made a fantastic two tier naked cake for our wedding day. I sent Hanna some pinterest images of the cakes I had in mind and she really delivered exactly the look I was hoping for! I had so many compliments from our guests. Not only did it look amazing but it also tasted incredible and I was eating cake for breakfast for a week after :) Really reasonably priced and great communication - would highly recommend Hanna.

My friend and I went for afternoon tea here today. Absolutely wonderful. Service by Jean Francois impeccable and warm. Food and tea offerings to a high calibre, nice selection of English wines and lovely ambience and setting. My only suggestion would be light music to add to the atmosphere in the orangery but otherwise an excellent time. Will be back. Thank you, Jean.

Great old village pub my mum recommended and took us there very friendly and welcoming including the locals. Landlord and Land lady so welcoming and interested in the customers, we had Sunday Lunch for 9 people definitely book. I would honestly say the best roast I have ever had from a pub, every meat on selection, huge portions and not silly money you will not be disappointed! The chef is brilliant the waitress was so friendly and helpful. Hats off Ringles Cross. We will be back soon. Thanks The Fraser’s

So...booked a table for Sunday Lunch 2 weeks in advance...rang 8 days (yes ...you heard me...over a week & I have the call log on my phone to prove it!) before the date of our booking to add guests. No answer on the phone, so left a message asking to increase our booking numbers...heard nothing back so assumed all was ok. Arrived to be told firstly that nobody picked up their answerphone messages, secondly that I should have rung again and checked they listened to answerphone messages and finally that the owner had not left the premises (nor obviously taken a shower or gone for a wee) at any time in the last two weeks for 24 hours every day & that I was obviously lying! They could not accommodate us as they, at lunchtime on a Sunday, did not have enough food...we were increasing our booking for 10 covers to 13 covers not 60! I am sorry for all those who came in later to find no food in the kitchen. Albeit this is our local, in walking distance of our house...PLEASE DO NOT BOTHER. We went to the Crow & Gate, a short drive away, where the atmosphere was amazing, the food absolutely divine, the staff friendly and accomodating. A walking party of 35 arrived, unbooked, whilst we were there & the staff bent over backwards to accommodate and serve them all. Sadly our village no longer has a friendly and accomodating local pub as this is the only one. If you have a car go up the road to the Crow & Gate...you will not regret it. Hopefully the Pig & Butcher will Google "good customer service" at some point...until then really don't waste your time!

What a gorgeous restaurant. Couldn't fault it. When we arrived, it seemed our reservation had gone wrong but they asked us to wait and they would sort out a table, it was packed in there! All the staff were really friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Food was absolutely delicious and we can't wait to go back. Thank you

Stayed for a couple of nights while exploring Lewes, Charleston in Firle and Brighton. Taking into account the age of the building, room was excellent, good facilities. James and the team were superb throughout our stay. Service both evenings and breakfast was quick. Breakfast had a great selection both continental and cooked. Evening meals were freshly cooked, well presented and good value for money. There are also deals on some nights which help! Wine was good, as were the cocktails. Would recommend and definitely stay again when in the area!

Met with friends here on a Friday evening and we were all very impressed. We had booked a table, and although the pub had a good buzz and atmosphere it wasn’t fully packed. Food was fresh and very tasty. Portions were also a good size. Staff were friendly and attentive. We look forward to returning in the future.

Sunday lunch was the order of the day today. First time visitors to the White Hart, Buxted. A beautiful village pub serving a large range of drinks with a good choice of food available. Welcome was warm on this cold, wet, blustery Sunday. I had not booked but luckily there was space. Opted to have the pork burnt ends starter. This was tasty, certainly got the taste buds going. Portion size was a little meagre though I thought. The aged roast beef was absolutely delicious. A good sized portion, with a variety of vegetables served to accompany the medium rare roast beef. Could not resist a pud. I opted for the sticky toffee pudding with custard. Beautiful steamed pudding with lots of toffee sauce and hot custard. A perfect finish. Harveys Sussex Best was a fantastic pint enjoyed with the meal. I only have one gripe. Additional gravy was available but at a cost of £3.00. I felt this was a mean additional cost that was not a wise move. Will I be back absolutely.

Well, the young waitress was friendly and the drinks came speedily, although I had to ask three times for a jug of water. Now this hotel has a mellow ambience and the bars are warm and inviting, promising some good cooking. But, on the day we went, the food was decidely lack-lustre. The risotto was dry, amazingly, along with the chicken that accompanied it. The 'chickenless' Katsu curry was a curious mix. and comprised soya-type strips in breadcrumbs, which were fatty and overcooked; these were served with two different sorts of rice and oven chips. The chili and herb garnish provided a modicum of taste. In all, this was a fairly disappointing meal.
