Went there for ‘lunch’ today and was served tiniest fruit scone I have ever seen, which crumbled as soon as I attempted to spread the cream on it. Actually, I didn’t need to spread the cream, as it was very runny. If I go there again I’ll make sure I eat first.

Oast Farm, set in rolling Sussex countryside, is accessible and has a lovely, welcoming team. It is rare in offering coffee in actual cafetières so you can pour your own as you want, just great. And the menu of cooked-to-order meals and freshly baked pastries is a sensory delight! Relaxed, friendly and very good value this cafe is highly recommended.

This little rural eatery serves DELICIOUS food - tomato soup is not just soup, it’s amazing tomato soup, the burgers are real proper burgers, and even the accompanying coleslaw is fab. Simple but lovely coffee. And our waitress was very very good, especially with the older customers. Well done and thank you.

On account of us self-isolating due to vulnerable age-group, Judith had my items brought to the door and took my card for payment close to the car. All precautions have been well organised fore the safety of both staff and customers. Another excellent service in Buxted!

Whilst the cafe is still closed due to the Covid 19 pandemic, the farm shop is doing a roaring trade and quite right too! The stock is second to none; lovely fresh fruit and veg, delicious breads and cakes, fresh local cheeses and butter, lovely fresh eggs, home made preserves of various delicacies. The home cooked pies sold in the shop are by far the best I have ever eaten! I even got some bean poles felled especially today! Lizzie, Bob, James and Judith are doing the most wonderful job in providing us with their shop (and café, when it’s open again) in our village. Something to be very proud of! Thank you all so very much!

We called in for lunch after a walk. The staff were great and happy to make a sandwich that wasn’t on the board and gave us great advice over their selection of apple juices. The food portions are very generous and the sour dough bread is amazing. This was our first visit but definitely won’t be our last.

I visited here with my mum recently. It was such a lovely place, and the two ladies in the tea room were so friendly and helpful. They did everything they could to help with my mum who has dementia. We only stopped for a drink, but the drinks were lovely, and we had a very memorable time.

Having nearly completed the Weald Way this is the first cafe we have come across next to the footpath. On a very hot day we stopped for a pot of tea. It was good to be asked if we would like a jug of water. The tea and coffee were reasonably priced. Unfortunately we didn't eat, the food looked good. If we are in the area in the future we will return

Lovely visit today to the cafe with hubby and baby daughter followed by some fruit picking on the farm. The ham, spinach and egg on sour dough toast (the bread is from the famous, local bakery, Flint Owl) was absolutely delicious, while hubby voucher similarly for the bacon sandwich. Very friendly service from all we met there and the lovely chef even brought out some wooden toys for our daughter to play with. Next to the cafe is a lovely farm shop with interesting Sussex produce - some of which we bought. Will definitely be back to do it all again!

Love this place and the guys who run it have a wonderful ethos about creating events all year round (wassailing, fruit picking, as well as helping with the orchard). Food is great - all presented fuss-free and fresh. The bacon sarnie and coffee takeout is super value at a fiver.

Have now visited twice and what has struck me on both occasions is the attentive and friendly service. The food, locally-sourced, is very good indeed and I also very much enjoyed my cafetierre of coffee. An attached shop also stocks the best in local produce.Though a relatively modest affair, Oast Farm demonstrates a committment to quality in all areas that other, larger, enterprises would do well to note.

Low key and unassuming cafe in a rural setting. Been here before current owner took over. Food is of a very good standard cooked to order by a obviously well trained chef. Recommend for lunch.

Not being local to the area and looking for somewhere for lunch whilst passing through. Seeing the sign for a cafe at the side of the road and driving up a side road to find a cafe attached to a farm shop. The staff gave us an extremely warm welcome. The food is all home cooked and freshly prepared, so there is a little wait for your food, which was not a problem. I had a tartlet with salad, which I felt was a little on the small side. Having said that, the food was very good, and if I was passing that way again, would definitely return.

Some veggie / vegan / gluten free options. Hot and cold foods, cakes and salads, all excellent. Filter coffees and a variety of teas. Service is very good and food cooked to order. They may use coriander if not warned, but the marmite of salads can be avoided. They bake their own pies and pasties and these are great. The farm shop is busy and has a reasonable variety of local produce - but not alcoholic drinks, so local ciders etc missing. Open Sundays - a rare place to eat if you miss the Sunday Roast hours at the local pubs.

We called in on our way past, fancying some breakfast and checking out some reviews to find a likely stop over. The disappointment we felt upon not seeing a great British farmhouse fry up on the menu disappeared as soon as we tucked in.I chose the Wild Boar sausage sandwich on brown bread and I was extremely satisfied to see the chef pop into the adjoining farm shop to retrieve a freshly baked loaf. Served with a fresh tomato garnish, a selection of condiments and a deliciously fresh cafetière of coffee, I was a very happy passer by.The navigator, and constant companion, decided it wasn’t too early to sample the Parsnip, something (she forgets) and apple soup served with a warm cheese scone. I’m informed it was delicious.Suitably revived, we browsed the shop and went home with some goodies including sausages and bread- a granary for the sausages and a wonderful walnut loaf which we shared with friends served simply with butter.I don’t care how far you have to go out of your way to visit, go and buy some scotch eggs - two days later and the egg yoke was still soft - you’ll thank me later.

What keeps me going back to this farm shop with attached restaurant is the truly outstanding Flint Owl bread and now, the wild boar sausages. The bread is my dietary nemesis. Aside from the superior taste and texture, I honestly believe it lasts longer from the first to the last slice.Over 100,000 new chemical compounds have been introduced into consumer goods in the last 30 or 40 years. Eating simple, locally sourced high purity foods is part of my plan to keep my exposure to a minimum.Oast Farm not only produces a lot of its own produce but sources the majority of the rest from very local producers.I love their Sussex ham and their marmalade is rather special and makes a nice little present as it's that good.Look, you don't shop farm shops for main street supermarket prices as generally you pay a small premium. I go simply because I am getting something rather special that will make my day more enjoyable.Next visit will be to their restaurant which, I note, is only open Wednesday through Sunday. In their own words: The Cafe has a menu to suit all tastes and we cater for all dietary requirements including vegan, gluten and dairy free options. All our food is cooked to order using the produce we sell in the shop, including our own fruit. They've got you covered!

Cafe set within pick your own farm with farm shop and fishing lake. Plenty of parking too. Food locally sourced and freshly prepared items available daily. Coffee excellent quality and comes in a cafetière. Ordered coffee for two and we got 4 cups of coffee from a large cafetière. I had a cheese scone which was delicious however possibly the smallest scone I've eaten in a cafe. Would be better if they were slightly bigger especially as they are £2.50. I think the menu changes on a regular basis. The pasties and sausage rolls look great. Welcoming staff. Seating inside and out. Will definitely return soon.

The Oast Farm Café is an add on to the existing and very pleasant farm shop on the Oast Farm, just outside of Buxted. The owners have worked hard to ensure that the produce is of a very good quality and sourced locally. It does have somewhat of a family feel, rather than a professional café, but to some extent that adds to the charm. It's not a particularly cheap option, although that's as a result of the quality produce, but it's a lovely place to spend a sunny morning with the papers.

Oast Farm is nestled between the busy A272 and a much quieter nice muddy narrow path, both of which are part of the Wealdway, one of south England's long distance paths. Careful of the opening hours - the shop is open each day but the cafe Wed-Sun. The sign on the road says the cafe is open until 4 on Sundays but as you enter the farm a rather smaller sign said until 2, so don't wait too long! Here you can be sure that the sausage in your sausage sandwich or breakfast has actually come out a frying pan, not a microwave, as it's basically a small domestic galley kitchen opening out into a small cafe. You can hear it being fried and see the chef cleaning the pan afterwards! The lady waiting was very friendly and helpful. I liked the informality (and value!) of getting a cafetiere of coffee, with hot milk offered without having to be asked (superb). Could have been a bit stronger for my taste but my date didn't mind.I liked the prices less. My cake was a bit small for £2.50 and the cooked breakfast was rather a lot. You can get salads and more "lunch" like dishes as well as breakfast stuff and cake. They have spruced up the inside to smart white/blue/blackboards, though it is still basically a well-furbished wooden hut which could be a bit more attractive outside - though to be fair everywhere in the UK looks rubbish in late January!

We have been visiting the farm shop for many years and decided to try out the cafe next door. Really nice homemade food, cooked fresh to order and a good menu. We loved the Oastie Roasties. The people are very welcoming and friendly. The cafe uses local produce, some of which can be bought from the farm shop next door.I would suggest booking a table if going for lunch as it gets quite busy.Great spot for lunch which I will be recommending to friends. We will definitely be dining there again.

It is just wonderful to see this delightful little cafe, in the most gorgeous of settings, brought back to life! Tucked back, away from the busy A272 near Uckfield, Buxted, this newly refurbished little gem sits next to the Oast Farm Shop and is open from wednesday to Sunday for breakfasts, brunches, lunches or freshly baked (jaw dropping) cakes and tea or coffee. The tea comes in a pot, which is always nice, and the coffee comes in its own mini plunger, which is extra special, I think. A group of us went for breakfast this morning to treat a friend on her birthday. It was warm, cosy and tastefully refurbished, and we were treated to the most deliciously cooked breakfast made from fresh, locally sourced produce. The menu was extensive, the prices were exceptionally affordable, and the food was prepared by the chef in the open kitchen. This open plan adds to the cosy atmosphere as it reminds you of being in someone's house rather than a cafe. When we'd booked our table, we mentioned our friend's birthday, but did not expect much more than a cursory slice of cake. The staff really did go the extra mile though, by putting up some very sweet (but discreet) birthday bunting, and making delicious blueberry muffins - with blueberries picked from the bushes on site - and topped with a birthday candle! It really was a very lovely outing, made extra special by the attention to detail, the exceptional quality of the food, the cafe's quaintness and its tucked-away location, and by the obvious enthusiasm and commitment coming from the new management. I was never really tempted to visit it's Strawberry Fayre predecessor, but can definitely see myself returning regularly to this little treasure.

Found this café completely by accident but we are really glad we did. We had light lunch. The menu was imaginative, everything we had was tasty and with fresh ingredients and the pastry round my beef pasty was to die for (the beef was pretty good too!). We visted Oast Farm this lunchtime as we happened to be passing and I remembered my farrier telling me that the pasties here are just simply the best so we decided to stop.We didn't realise that the coffee shop is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so had a wander around the farm shop. We said we had really dropped in for a cup of tea, and were stunned (and happy) when the lady in the shop said she could rustle us up a pot of tea and cake, or warm through a pasty or sausage roll, but would not be able to offer a proper lunch. We really didn't expect them to accommodate us in this way, but were touched that they were prepared to put themselves out for us in this way.We were led through to the tea room and our pot of tea arrived. We ordered a Sussex pastie and a sausage which took a little longer because they were warmed through in a proper oven and not merely shoved into a microwave, but were definitely well worth the wait. The pastry was perfect - not the usual stodgy fayre that we have had elsewhere, and the pastie filling was out of this world! Proper chunks of steak and potatoes and full of flavour (no mince in sight)! I opted for a sausage roll as I am not generally a pastie fan. The sausage roll was very tasty, but having had a sample of my partner's pastie I would choose the pastie here every time. The presentation was also nice - a lettuce and cherry tomato salad / garnish. The ladies who ran the shop were charming, and were attentive without being pushy. I was pleased to see that they had a steady flow of customers into the farm shop as they really deserve the business. It wasn't the cheapest lunch, but was worth every penny and we would happily recommend them and are looking forward to a return visit very soon.

The place is so Quaint and the food is delicious. I just wish servers would listen to what the customers say I had water with lime in it and I already had it mixed in the line was squeeze to perfection and the server came back by and I and he asked me if I wanted more water and I said yes, for halfway to the top of this ice.Keep gave me a full glass of water, or nearly. It would not be a big deal, but the fact is, I explicitly asked for him to fill it halfway again. These servers, these days, they're just giving you what they want to have, they're not understanding in our paying attention, but they want to get a great tip fortunate for them. We tip well my boyfriend and I. But I am really getting aggravated with this. So overall, the meal was fine. It's just at these people do not listen.

Really disappointed. Arrived at 4ish on a Tuesday in half term with our 15 and 11 year old to a completely empty pub, just one patron sat at the bar. Really lovely cosy large area next to the fire that was empty but immediately told by bar staff we couldn't sit there with children due to licensing rules! We were allowed to sit in the drafty back lobby by the gents loos - not so great. Weird atmosphere, we clearly weren't welcome, shame as we'd planned a few rounds and dinner but we headed back to our local accommodation instead. Looked like a really quaint pub just wish we'd realised it wasn't somewhere for families.

We had a meal here on Saturday as they were advertising a new menu. I had the salmon and my husband had the stuffed pork chop. Both dishes were so so lovely. The flavours were so fresh and the portions were really good as well. My husband said he hasn’t had a pork joint like it before and was blown away. You won’t be disappointed with the food here and we are fussy. The staff are all so lovely and really attentive. We will def be back soon
