The best restaurants serving British food in Buxted and Maresfield Wealden South East

We went in with our two dogs today and ordered 2 Sunday roasts. We usually frequent a different establishment for our Sunday feeding but we took the plunge after walking the kids to try out the new owners menu. Without too much more ado, We weren't disappointed with our choice. Two dinners later and we both agreed that it was the best Sunday roasts that we ever had.. it's a family run pub with Dad in the kitchen , the man is a culinary genius, it was a nice touch too that he took the time to come out during the meal and see how we were ... Really friendly well run family restaurant and bar with ( in my humble opinion) the best food around.. well worth the visit... 10/10...

We had one night at the Buxted Inn with our toddler. The hotel staff arranged a travel cot, although no bedding which we had to bring ourselves. There was also mattress for the travel cot so we had to improvise with pillows. One point to make is the pillows were very thin and I had neckache in the morning. I don't know why hotels invest so little in pillows that can provide proper support. This is why I've graded the room as 4 stars - otherwise it was great and just what we needed. We ate in the restaurant and the food was very good (steak a bit overdone, but overall very nice). The staff were excellent, attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Many thanks!

Absolutely first class food from this village pub. It’s obvious that the chef is passionate about the food they serve and they change the menu regularly. Add to that their wine list which includes excellent options by the glass and its winner. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

The greeting was warm and friendly from Kat and the other staff. There was plenty of choice on the menu which could be varied to suit in some regard. The meal came promptly and was hot and very tasty.

The waitress / bar maid was very pleasant and engaging. She did everything right. The beers were good. The food however was less than average. We had to send back 3 of the dishes - the kids tomato pasta was inedible. Perhaps the chef was away as it bears no resemblance to the other reviews I can see here.

What can I say the most fantastic meal I have had in a long time and service to match especially Marc (great choice of wine) and serge ( amazing cocktails) this was my partners birthday surprise and it was made so special by this wonderful Evening can not thank yo enough for this.
