I went to The Crow and Gate for the first time for one of their bingo nights and what a joy it was! A great evening of entertainment was had by all and the food we ordered was all delicious. Service was exceptional, a special shout out to Kat for both her attentive service and great bingo calling! Would highly recommend and look forward to going again.

Yesterday I had my ‘horsey hen do’ at the crow and gate pub. We have bought the horses here many times before over the years and have always been made to feel more than welcome with our four legged friends! The hospitality we recieved yesterday was really exceptional, the team there are brilliant, so accommodating and they made what was a big occasion to organise (nine horses, four dogs and over 15 people!) a lot less stressful! The food and drinks we ordered came out quickly, all very organised and friendly! The outdoor area is huge and shaded perfect for a summer outdoor lunch and so dog (and horse!) friendly! Thankyou so much team I had the best day and obviously we will be back, horses and all! X

I have lunched with friends here on and off for a number of years and have always enjoyed the location, food and service and have often recommended the Crow & Gate to other friends, however my experience today (12/8/24) was very disappointing the Calamari starter was just small hard pieces of batter the fish and chips were so overcooked the batter on the fish broke off into hard pieces when cut it felt as if both the starter and the main course had been recooked. Why did I not simply complain and send the food back I did consider this but we were all chattering and reminiscing that I did not wish to throw a spoiler in what was an enjoyable time with good friends, I cannot guess what went wrong in the kitchen as all my friends commented afterwards that their meals were well below the usual standard, was it a new or temporary chief ? who knows, will we return who knows.

Fabulous spot, Tommy and Aga were really helpful. We had a great time and the food was lovely. We took the horses for the day and had a great hen do.

We visited Crow and Gate on Saturday. The place was very busy but we managed to get a table at the bar area. We ordered duck pizza, chicken & avocado salad and beef burger. All the food was very tasty and fresh. Staff was friendly and we love that the pub welcomes dogs. Fireplaces were lit and this added great atmosphere to the whole experience. It was our 1st visit but it definitley won't be the last one.

Amazing food and service - this was the first time eating here and we will definitely be back!! Kat was really friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience possible! Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a tasty meal, good selection of drink and good conversation with friendly staff!

Had an excellent meal at the crow and gate ,my wife had the lasagne and I had the pie of the day which were both delicious, 😋 The ambiance was cosy and warm and we were served by Georgia who was very friendly and made us feel very welcome with her warm smile and attentive service.

We went recently for a birthday celebration, we had pre ordered food to be told on arrival that one of the meals wasn’t available. Mains took nearly 45 minutes to come out. The table was an ocean of glasses where they hadn’t been cleared. Fishcakes themselves were great but the accompanying veg was overdone.

Had a really good meal and service was efficient. Portions were generous and the staff were attentive and happy. Will definitely visit again when in the area.

Last time I came to the Crow and Gate was about 2 years ago and yesterday we decided to walk down to have Sunday lunch after going to another chain a few weeks back in Green Street Green. I must say, this was a totally different place from my last visit and in a nice surprising way. The staff Ellie M on her first day along with Ben were great hosts to us and we felt pampered. The meal was superb and asked if we could speak with the chef (Phil C) to congratulate him on his meal and all the staff around him. The portion sizes were excellent and very good value for money for what you get and drinks reasonable. Thanks guys, will be back soon. Steve & Caroline

Opens on Mondays unlike many local pubs and food is always good. Friendly helpful service. Worth a visit. Good menu selection

Date night out with our dog Teddy. We both had pizza, one duck and hoisin sauce, this was amazing! So muck duck , delicious. The other one pepperoni. I'm sorry Vintage Inns but you have lost the plot. Ordered standard chicken dish of the menu. After waiting over 20 minutes told no Chicken left. Slow service not enough staff on duty. This restaurant used to be good, but lately the hospitality service you offer now is I regret very third rate. I'm sorry but its not difficult and I should know I've been in the hospitality business all my life.

We came for Sunday lunch for Mother's Day. Overall, it was a positive experience. The service by Aga was exceptional. The starter of prawn cocktail was OK, though the lettuce was very wet and could have done with drying off. The main of Sunday roast was good, the meats were very tasty, the only criticism were the vegetables, the roast potatoes were not very roasted amd the parsnips were the same, had to saw them rather than cut them! Desert was sticky toffee pudding which was nice , but the custard was cold. Considering it was quite busy, the negatives were trivial. The staff member Aga was very good, she was always smiling!
